Singa Pura King of Hawkers reviews
56Ordered the chilli crabs $69 I think. First bite in the mouth could already feel a strong smell of bleach… crabs were off.we could only have the sauce with mantou. Told the waitress the dish was not eatable, we pretty much left ALL the crab pieces untouched, she wasn’t rude but just brushed it off and said sorry, no refund or remake of the dish. Will not ever return.
Nice Singaporean restaurants. Food quality is solid, you will enjoy it. Place is clean and service is good. The radish cake is banging. Worth a visit.
Celebrating my babes Cherry's Birthday with the 'Chismis Cousins' at a Resto known to dish up the best south east asian cuisine around the area! Bringing together a cosiness of a family run restaurant with favourites of Singapore's hawker market dishes right at our fingertips. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
: Roti Prata /c Curry Sauce, Nasi Goreng /c Fried Egg, Char Kway Teow & Curry Chicken /c 2 pcs of Roti
Ordered the Chilli Crabs with egg noodles for two of us, pricey but I think it was worth the money. The sauce is superb.
Having lived in Singapore this was a nice place to feel like you were back there. The food was good albeit not Singapore prices. Lunch specials were a good way to go. Had the ckt and rendang, noodles were great, roti was also good, rendang was a bit tough.
After reading the positive reviews, E headed down to the restaurant on 20 Sept. 2023.
We ordered the beef rendang, laksa and char Kway teow.
The rendang was a disappointment as it was wet and not authentic drier rendang.
Likewise the laksa also lacked flavour. The only dish that was reasonably good was the char Kway teow.
Service and atmosphere were good.

Dear diary, I wanna go to Singapore and try THE chilli crab! So I don’t know if this is authentic but I know it sure was delicious and omg so much sauce! The more sauce, the more satisfying noodle lift.
If you are hungry, this place doesn't suit you. My two time experience here is long waiting for food due to short of staff. And the mud crab Chili sauce is not what I expect with that price.
It saddens me greatly as a Singaporean walking in with high expectations but the food we ordered today was unfortunately slightly disappointing. Overall it was still a decent place but comparing to other places that offer Singaporean food (some of which don’t exist anymore sadly) it just wasn’t up to par for me? [more specifically the carrot cake was too sweet and the kueh texture slightly off, and the mee pok was way too sour].
I might come back another time to try some other dishes and hopefully they might change my mind in the future and make me edit my review (which I would gladly do when they earn the two stars back).
Great food and great service.
We went on Friday night (able to call and reserve a table for 6 earlier same day), and the table was quite spacious for our group. Food came quite quickly, though the dessert came slower since that was ordered during a busier time, understandable. Portions were good and flavour excellent. Highly recommend
Carrot cakes and Kaya toast are nice starters. The spotlight of the night is the
chilli crab (blue swimmer). Can taste the crab is fresh and the sauce is perfect with egg noodles. Will come back to try more different dishes.
Best Singapore Chili crab in Australia. Great service. Our 2nd time visiting and cannot wait to go again. Loved the chicken rice and Iced milo too.
Delicious food, super friendly service, good price. Can get a little busy and then the service is impacted.
We have enjoyed our experience in Singa Pura and came back a few times.
Kaya toast rules, so give it a go (recommend with a soft egg on the side).
And dark carrot cake is another delicious recommended staple.
We flew from Sydney last weekend, and every day we are just trying all the delicacy that Melbourne offered. We stumbled across this hidden gem in the suburb of Abbotsford. Must try their Singaporean chilli mud crab and Hainaness chicken. I reckon it's better than Jumbo in Singapore. It's definitely going to be on top of my list next time I visit Melbourne.
Hands down one of the best Malaysian/Singaporean eatery in Melbourne. We have been coming for many years and the quality is always consistent. I'd highly recommend the Char Kway Teow, Hainanese Chicken Rice and the Kaya Toast! In saying that, I've tried most of the menu, and you can't go wrong with any of them. Service is efficient and friendly. It's a family run business, so come and support your locals!
Great little joint with a simple but good vibe. Always plenty of happy faces from the staff and the customers. Food is fresh and tasty, and comes piping hot to the table. Nice cold beer to compliment the amazing chilli crab they do (no pic but have eaten on several occasions) is a busy place so make a reservation for the bigger groups. A good place for that stop off after work. Enjoy xxx
Excellent food and service. Beef rendang, nasi goring and king prawn skewers. Couple of cold beers all for $60! Place was busy, I can see why.
Fantastic and very delicious Singaporean dishes.so very flavourful, really love it.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Am posting this review while i am still enjoying the food now)
Very busy during the lunch soecials, but the lovely lady from the ahop across the road (not a close friend, i double checked) says it's the best food on Victoria Street. That's high praise.
Reluctant 5 stars.
I was in a traffic accident on the way to pick up my order, and still had to wait 40 minutes to collect when I got there. By the time I got home I swore I would never give this restaurant my business again. Unfortunately the food is so good that despite this long wait. I know I will be back. Would highly recommend. Unmissable Singaporean food.
