Simon's Peiking Duck Chinese Restaurant

Food flavour is good as usual. The price is reasonable too. But the service level definitely need to be improved. I think they notice that but just not willing to change anything. You can tell be by the recent customer feedback.

Came to have dinner with my family and the food and service here was amazing! Staff was very friendly and accommodating! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. Will definitely come back again! Amazing memories to cherish

Peking duck was pretty good, guy who served it to us was nice and smiley but some of the other wait staff were not as friendly.noodle serving size however was pretty dismal considering one serve was meant to feed 2-3 people, and costly too. On the bright side it was 90% veggies and 10% noodles? So while the atmosphere and decor here is better, I reckon Old Kingdom had a more generous serving of duck and noodles at a better price point.

It was good, we visited on a Sunday night on our way home and could only get a 45 minute slot prior to 6: 00pm so a little rushed. Value is IMO very good and they certainly know their duck. The set menu is a little off putting but nonetheless the product is good, we ate is all at a total cost for 2 of less than $75.

Anyone who has ever left Simons Peking Duck a bad review actually has no idea.
I’ve eaten different styles of duck from all kinds of restaurants yet everytime I bite into a duck from somewhere else I just wish it was as good as Simons. The service is like every good Chinese restaurant, efficient and straight to the point. Props to the gentleman slicing the duck in front of the restaurant and then delivering it to each table with a smile. Please Simons, don’t ever change a thing. Best duck in the world.

Pretty ducking good, very sad without Simon around cracking jokes and serving the “special” banana fritter with two scoops instead of one.

Loved the crispy skin Peking duck (3 ways eating - soup with condiments, stir fried bean spouts/ thin-thick noodles, sliced Peking duck meat with thin pancakes wrap). Good price/ good value. The tasty crispy duck skin has no fat because the fat has melted away!

Just called to make a booking and the guy on the line was rude. I asked what time they open and he would not answer and said do you want to come or not. I asked again what time they open and he said do you want the booking or not. He said he can only accommodate us at a certain time which is fine but I asked what time they opened. He was extremely rude and so we decided not to go and I told him to work on his customer service and to learn how to be polite over the phone.

Great Peking duck, and noodles were good. Food came out pretty quickly. Only thing is.it all felt very rushed. We were asked several times whether they could clear the table, even though we hadn't finished eating yet. Had a 6pm-8pm booking and they tried to get us out by 7pm!

Truly amazing find. Great value for money and Peking Duck done right. Besides the delicious duck, the Bean Sprout dish was the highlight and the soup was the perfect way to finish the meal. I’m sure to be back for round 2.

Good customer service. Unfortunately, the food tasted bland to me (the soup and stir-fried). The Peking duck itself tasted fine. I understand this comes down to personal preference. Also, a baby was screaming for the majority of my time at the restaurant and that impacted the dining experience.

I’ve been coming here for years and it is still my favourite. Best Peking duck on the planet and although Simon has passed away, his legacy lives on with the skills of Ken and the dedication off Jo and his fantastic team.

I have been coming here since childhood and the flavour has always been unmatched! I have been to several other Peking duck places but this one is always the one I keep coming back to.

Simon was an iconic character who loved his customers whole heartedly and was well-known for tossing his famous pancakes upon serving (which they still do!). After his devastating passing, the restaurant lives on in his honour.

Currently they are not offering their usual full menu and only focussing on Duck. You order set menus where the whole duck is used across 3 dishes. Beginning with deliciously crispy skinned duck pieces and pancakes served with spring onion, cucumbers and a special plum sauce.

Then a duck meat noodle dish of your choice, with either thin, thick (my favourite) or crispy noodles. Finishing with a duck bone broth soup, bold and rich. Each set menu goes by the duck, where it is recommended 1 duck per 2-3 people.

The staff were so hospitable and proud of the food they put out for us. I’m so happy for them to have this new opportunity but also that although the inside has had a facelift, they still produce the same great, authentic food.

Have always had a great experience every time we come here. No different today, loved it! Best peking duck in Melbourne.

Duck was crispy and flavourful. We ordered 4 ducks as a group. Atmosphere was good.
Our corner table was a bit wobbly. May need to be replaced.

The best Peking duck in Melbourne. Hands down. Consistency, and quality are what you'll get here. They never disappoint.

The food was delicious and the service was great. One of the lady owner, Jenny, was really lovely and nice. Would recommend this place!

If you love Peking duck, this is the place for you TO GO …. The host lady was very friendly and food very yummmmyyyyyyyy portion size is very generous and price worthy. We’ll be back soon for sure
