Shujinko reviews
78Hi everyone, I just want to share with you my food experience at this restaurant. I ordered the Karakuchi Ramen and Takoyaki. I first ate the ramen, and it was delicieuse, and the spice of it was mild, just as I wanted. For the takoyaki, I was also great. You really tast the felings inside the takoyaki. I can say this restaurant has done a great job on their food, and I will come back and try their other menu.
Updating my review. I stopped coming here frequently because last time I visited the price increase shocked me. I get everything is expensive these days but the prices have gone up while the portion size has gone down. Not a fan of shrinkflation and I miss the old chashu when it was three strips of pork not one small piece.
Still one of the best ramen in Melbourne but I’m sorry to say I’ll be coming here for special occasions only and when I can afford the luxury. I miss the old days
It doesn't matter how many times I come to this place (which has been many, many times) the food is always as good as the first time I tried it. I had my usual of Karakuchi ramen with extra egg and pork, alongside a plate of karaage chicken. It was phenomenal. Easily the best spot in Melbourne for ramen. The food came out in under 7 minutes, the atmosphere is amazing and the decor is also a nice unique touch to really make the store stand out.
Excellent ramen with excellent service. The broth was delicious and was not too thick and not too light. The noodles were not the cheap packet ramen noodles and was full of flavour absorbed from the soup.
The shujinko ramen was well balanced albeit could do with a littttllleee bit of salt while the black ramen was a tad too salty. Nevertheless, was a great experience and will recommend to friends and family.
Best ramen I’ve had in Melbourne to date! Silky Spicy broth and the noodles were delicious!
The signature ramen was delectable.
Great flavours with generous portions.
Thank you for a great experience.
Quite popular with the locals! There's a line outside the door as soon as it opens- very busy but very quick service! 30/12/21
Enjoyed their sides; the fried prawns and gyoza were some of the best we've had. The prawns were so light and crunchy. Ordered the black ramen and karakuchi ramen. The garlic flavour could be stronger for the black ramen but in general, the broth was thick and flavourful. Overall, solid option for ramen in Melbourne
Our family's to go place for comfort food. Their signature Ramen is a must to order. Also the karage (fried chicken) and their gyozas are items that we usually order. Excellent variety in alcoholic drinks as well. For the cold winter nights this place is a must go for a nice bowl of Japanese Soup! Oh! You will love their greetings when you walk in!
Although can be tough at times to get a seat, the ramen selection is nice. The staff are okay to deal with although the experience can feel a little rushed, in and out. Thanks for the experience!
So good, I went back the next day too Gotta love the friendly staff here. Tasty food & lovely Shujinko Signature Sake
Food came surprisingly quickly and was quite decent. Felt satisfied afterwards which is all you can ask for.
Such an amazingly delicious meal, quick food service, and good range of drinks.
Would highly recommend
Shujinko is my go-to for cheap and tasty tonkotsu ramen. They've also got a decent sake collection, and if you've got a bit of a sweet tooth their house sake (ume or yuzu flavours) is great.
Popular Japanese eatery mainly focused on Ramen plus a few other staples. Buzzy, noisy and fast, great for a quick fix of good Japanese food. Licenced and open late
Well presented ramen.
Mediocre broth, abit lacking in flavour. Chasu is smoky but bland in taste. I don't think these are soy marinaded egg.
Still enjoyed the experience
Miss my fried chicken, which I pay for, took 30mins to prepare a meal, Gyoza is soggy wet and sticky, very bad experience.
My ultimate fave ramen joint in the CBD, always so welcoming and friendly despite how intoxicated we are when we dine, there is a sign out front now disclosing drunken behavior wont be tolerated so im annoyed the others have ruined this late night after drinking establishment for us. Rude drunks! That we are not. Anyway ramen is always spot on. I always get the Shujinko signature its enough food for me without leaving anything behind, might be an unpopular opinion but its heaps better than Hakata Gensuke across the road, the shujinko noodles are just thicker and heartier and the broth is well rounded and flavorful.
Pretty good but just a tiny bit too oily for me, I’ll probably be back still tho. Had the vegetarian ramen. Really lovely atmosphere, I sat and read for a while.
I dined at the Elizabeth street store tonight and ordered the vegan miso ramen. The food was really good! And the wait staff were super helpful, attentive and gave a good vibe to the place. Thank you again Minh and Vivian for your excellent service:)
