Shavans @ Pakenham Indian Restaurant

Went for dinner just before lockdown and ordered butter chicken and some other dishes. Butter chicken was so bland, chicken was dry and tasted stale and chewy, ordered everything medium in spice level but the whole thing tasted bland with chilli flakes sprinkled on top. Almost everything we ordered had no taste. Wont be returning

Loved it, great Indian food, highly recommend, we have been there a few times now and really enjoyed it have shared the experience with friends also.

A regular every fortnight. Latest meal I had there, the chicken was slightly undercooked and some pieces a bit raw still. Normally a very good place to eat although I had my first negative experience since coming here. I feel like the meal was rushed due to the high demand of take away meals the day lockdown ended in Victoria.

USED to be a very good restaurant. Had HORRIBLE experience on Thursday. 3 dishes ordered via Uber Eats- uncooked food delivered. When I called and complained, I was told to go back to Uber Eats! We delivered all food back but we were NOT provided any satisfactory answer and advised that the uncooked food has been customised to the taste of wider community!
What as shame they once a restaurant is established- the start taking customers for granted and spoil their special days! NEVER going to them again!

Best indian in pakenham. Both dine in and take away is exceptional, the meat they use is cooked perfectly and falls apart in your mouth!

You can order online from their website and pick up, the packs are great and good value. I fell in love with the Keema cheese naan.it is delicious!

The garlic nann and the cheese nann were AMAZING!
We had beef curry, chicken Korma, lamb rogan Josh and a potato and spinach dish.served with coconut rice.
Will definitely be going back.

Ordered couple of times via uber eats and experienced tasty authentic Desi food. Delivery was free and time from order to delivery was approximately 45 minutes. Price is bit on little higher side, but the serving sizes are really bigger than many restaurants I tried. Will keep ordering in future as well.

PS. We are vegetarian and above review is about - Tandoori Roti, Paneer Masala, Eggplant Masala, Dal Makhani etc. Paneer butter Masala is little sweet so if you love hot gravy then avoid this dish.

Fantastic food. Very lucky to live near the best indian restaurant I've experienced in Australia. And I've been to quite a few.

Butter chicken was a mix of slow cooked tender chicken and over cooked pieces and the sauce was to sweet, the nann has made me feel so sick. It was far to cheesy, and dripping with oil.

Great food, very taste and nice level of spice which they can modify upon request. Great service too. The only slightly inconvenient thing was that the wait staff filled up the water for you themselves rather than you having a bottle at the table for more frequent refills.

Omg! I ordered this for my dinner and ohhhh wow!
I ordered tandoori lamb cutlets (5 cuts to be exact) how generous isn’t it? The flavour is unexpectedly delicious (yes I know it sounds like I’m over reacting but it really does), with (flavoured basmati rice). Not to mention the yogurt. I ate it by itself.yum! Another thing, the rice is overflowing, I love my rice? I would love to visit their restaurant and taste all their food.
I ordered lamb cutlets because I haven’t had this before. And this is my first time to taste Shavans’ food. You can choose the spicy level of your food which is a big thumbs up for people who doesn’t like too hot.
I would love to make a review again once I visit their restaurant.

After so many disasters, we visited Shavans as my partner was missing decent Indian food (& I was avoiding it at all costs). Thankfully the team here renewed my faith and they'll be my go-to from now on. Service was spot on and very friendly, and our meals were super yummy. I found real veggies (rather than a frozen coles packet) in my Mushroom Masala and my man loved the chunky lamb Rogan Josh.
After getting sick from other Pake Indian (*burning ring of fire* is not amazing), I'd have to say that Shavan's is the best, freshest and tastiest Indian here.

Was a bit let down, meat in the curry was chewy needed to be cooked longer, naan was huge but consistency was a bit off and drowned in oil.

First time ordered food from here tonight, trust me not going to order again. I ordered paneer butter masala medium but it was pathetic very sweet in taste. Can’t believe I had this taste from Shavans.

The food is always lovey and the staff are just as nice. My daughter isn't much for curies an she couldn't stop going back for more and this is now her favorite place to eat.value for the money.

Had lamb biryani, veggie vindaloo and kerala fish curry with roti and naan. Awesome. Thank you so much. The fish curry was the best. One of the best one I ever had. Uber driver just put the food at door without ringing the bell. But it’s not your fault thank you guys. I’ll order again. 200% sure of that.

Worst ever Indian Restaurant to get the Indian authentic food. Dal Makhani was burnt and it seemed like it was uncooked and had a very heavy burning smell. The butter naan was uncooked and very thick. In “Palak Paneer” they put raw paneer and was not even cooked and mixed properly.

Best curry in Melbourne! I'm from the UK and Shavans was by far one of the closest to my beloved home Indian restaurant experiences. Excellent food, service and prices. Waiters were very well presented and very friendly and polite. Loved the candy fennel seeds after dinner. Went a few months ago before lockdown. Wish we lived closer so we could get takeaways now.

Terrific food and great wines. Making a reservation was a chore but once we got there everything was great.
