Shavans @ Pakenham Indian Restaurant

Was good food, good set up, nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
Lately the food has slipped a bit and the prices have gone right up. Maybe understandable, but they charge $5 for a small glass of solo (instead of giving you the can) and high prices for beers, ciders and wine with their labels on it, not sure what it is.

Food is always awesome whether its takeaway or dine in. I always get the mixed grill 10/10

I placed an online order by mistake, thinking that this was Shavans Patterson Lakes. Called immediately to cancel and was told I would be refunded.never got the refund. When I called back to enquire at a later date I was just hung up on.

Basically just stole my money, they don't care.

Not impressed! Spent $60, ordered the butter chicken from here, woke up the next morning with food poisoning - never been so sick! Do no recommend as other family members have had the same experience

The music was lovely and clean space we had an amazing server she was so enthusiastic and funnny she was soo keen to make our food and her hot chocolate was spectacular thanks for serving us Mackaly

Worst packaging i ever had for non veg platter fits everything in one 500ml food container. Dont won’t to give a single star

Food quality was poor. Butter chicken was not cooked well and the wait time was 50mins. (When asked about waiting time, they told its too busy, I saw only 50% of seats occupied) Will not go again. Please try to improve.

We eat here often, it is our favourite Indian restaurant, great service and great food at reasonable prices.

We had ordered Jalfrezi and paneer butter masala and it was sugary to the point of being uneatable. This is the third time we've had this experience which suggests that it's how they intend the dish to be and wasn't an accident (and yes, we always mention the spiciness level). This was confirmed by the staff as well.

Any Indian person will immediately pick up on the fact that the dishes don't taste remotely authentic. I can understand that sometimes the restaurants have to adjust the recipe for the demographic, but you can always add less spices rather than adding loads of sugar to tone down the spiciness.

I hope the people who run this place take this as a constructive criticism. On a positive note, the service and the staff were good. I hope I can return here in the future for a more authentic taste

Was waiting for my food and tried out the lassi mate the best lassi ever it's really thick loved it

Shavans never dissapoints. Been going there for years. What a great family run business, they should be proud. Always a great atmosphere friendly staff and exceptional meals. Have also been to a few event nights, which were always really fun. If you love Indian food, you have to visit shavans.

Very bad to ask a Sikh boy to cut his beard for a job. No one should visit this restaurant. Bad management

DO NOT AND I MEAN NOT waste your time or money on this restaurant. I am a Officer local and gave this restaurant 3 opportunities to prove me wrong but each time was worse than the last.

Avoid this place and go somewhere else please!

When we ordered we thought it's bit expensive, but the portion size is big compared to other Indian restaurants. And taste is very good. Definitely I will go next time.

One of the worst vegetarian food I have ever had. And the customer service was very low standard too. Dint even give us cutlery, we had to ask them twice and still had to wait for it. I would like to rate them negative. Very disappointing. Wasted our celebration.

Fantastic food and customer service. Great background music too. A must try for any lovers of Indian food.

Went for a mothers day dinner at this place and I've never had a worse experience at a restaurant in my life. We paid 180+ in food and was told there was a 'mother's day sale' where they claimed we could get food for 'all you can eat' as many times as we like. First of all they shouldn't be making such claims when they can't accommodate to it. We tried to order more serving but were told entree can only be ordered once after being told anything off that menu could be multiple times. We paid $42 per person, 3 people in total, for the meal set. Waited over 30 minutes to get three pieces of tiny meat and then an additional 30-40 minutes for the main meal to be served. When we got this the serving sizes were smaller than one serving while in total ordering 3 servings. This place was a complete rip off for the food sizes and what they were claiming. Their customer service is one of the worst with no communication in the team and poor etiquette among all. If they can't accommodate that many people at a given time they shouldn't be taking bookings. Our table was placed near the door and there were people literally standing on top of us while trying to pay or get their take out order because they had taken orders of this many people and didn't have the capacity to fulfil them, got too greedy.
Never again will be going here and I just don't understand why people like this place and how it has good reviews.
