45 Second Home.what can I say? ! This place is such a go to brunch spot
I had an almond cappuccino & the dish: our hollandaise. Both we're absolutely delicious!
Couple of downsides.the parking & the portion sizes. Other than that this place is great!
This beautiful Cafe has a great atmosphere if you’re looking for place to have breakfast or brunch. I ordered Breakfast Turkish Pide and Green Goddess Omelette which enjoyed both, especially sausage on Turkish one.
Nice place for breakfast/brunch.
Coffee is good, food is decent.
Limited parking within the premises, drive towards Susan st and there is ample parking near the oval.
Great food and coffee, the breakfast and brunch menu is excellent.
They don't take walk ins and when you arrive, you'll see why.
Fantastic food, great coffee and good customer service. Parking can be limited, but it's worth the effort once you get there! Highly recommend the smash avocado with Vegemite salt! It's delicious!
Great food, service and atmosphere. The only thing that would help is if they took bookings as it is super popular on weekend mornings. But I guess bookings might limit the $$ potential
Wow, incredible food. Fresh, tasty, decent size. Coffee was amazing and not bitter. Will definitely come back. The only down side is we waited 40 minutes to get a table, I wish they took bookings - hold credit card numbers if you have to. Friendly staff too. Will be coming back soon: D
Didn't feel like my second home. Called ahead and wasnt even acknowledged after standing there for more than 10 minutes. Would give 0 stars if I could but 5 stars for Platform 3095 in Eltham instead.
My daughter had been here before and said it had great healthy food. I remember when it was an art gallery many years before.
Arriving at midday we were quickly shown to a table they set up for the three of us, with menus, water and glasses.
The place was busy but not over busy. Staff were awesome. Very attentive, checking in and out every now and again but not intrusive.
I had the gnocchi which was one of the most different styles of gnocchi that I'd had before. The raw egg was a different touch but the waiter told me to mix it in quicky along with the ricotta - very, very tasty and fresh.
My daughter had a burger with fries which she split with her brother who ordered something from the menu that was smaller than what he thought. They said it tasted 'unusualy' and weren't that happy with it but there are plenty of other things on the menu to try.
Freshly squeezed orange juice - superb. Vietnamese coffee - superb.
There is a variety of seating options - inside / outside / couch / booths / long benches. The rustic / retro style is certainly appealing an despite the warehouse feel to it, the acoustics are good.
Went to the toilets and they are just superb - clean, plenty of everything you might need. There is also for sale some lovely bottles of wine, water, chutneys and jams.
There is parking on site but also on the street. Can be a bit tight on those busy days.
I would highly recommend this little gem in Eltham and explore the menu to find those little tasty treats.
PS - good place for kids too.
Our entire family love Second Home, the menu is modern and differs to your usual brunch fare at other cafes. The service is professional and friendly. A great, light environment. Occasionally you have to wait for a table however it has always been under ten minutes and is always worth the wait.
Great food, lovely staff and the menu is not only better than when they first opened, but better value. Keeps getting better.
Great value for coffee. Tucked away just off Susan St in Eltham. $3.50 for a large Latte. Cashew bliss balls are a great partner with the coffee as an early morning pick me up
Beautiful interior. Beautifully caring AND funny wait staff. Food options were well priced and GOOD coffee. These guys know where it’s at.
I've ordered savory French toast, absolutely loved it! Food was superb, ambience was superb, friendly and attentive service!
In the past has been really great. Not fond of new menu. Fewer customers now. All the food was overly salty. Missing the rich Deep aromas of he past. I will still be going back as I love the staff and the ambience. It could be a once off experience.
Fitted us in without a booking on a busy Tuesday lunch. Good food, great cheeseburger and pulled pork roll.
Bit disappointing with the food. Ordered egg benedict but not as expected. The sauce is not too creamy. Matcha latte is also not flavourful, too much milk I reckon. And the parking can be stressful. Very limited space. Good service though, friendly and helpful staff. Food was fast.
Good cafe but can be difficult to hear as very echoey. Good coffee. Food generally good but on occasion inconsistent. Book if you can as it's very busy
Effortlessly brilliant. Relaxed atmosphere, inspired decor and delicious food. I’d like to give it more than five stars. It was my best breakfast this year.
