School of Hard Knock Knocks reviews
69SofHKK's was without a doubt the most terrifying, soul crushingly amazing ride of my life. If not for this course I never would've fulfilled my dream of Stand Up. Morry & The Pro's give you all the tools without the sugar coating it to get you up on that stage. I've dreamed of getting on stage for longer than I care to admit but it was so easy to make excuses never take that step & have a go. This course takes away ALL the excuses to not do it & gives you all tools to take stand up further if you want or just tick it off that bucket list. Either way you won't die wondering & you'll have an absolute ball doing it. This was probably the scariest thing i've ever done, but being able to do it within a group, coached by some of the best of the best Aussie comedians was @#$%#^ amazing & I never would've or could've done it without this course. 6 Stars (5 just isn't enough)
I decided to do the course because sitting on the front row at comedy gigs terrifies me.
I had an absolute blast. Brad and Morry are great coaches - on the sunday I started the course I had some funny ideas but really had no idea on how to deliver a joke on stage.
I committed to trying to execute whatever they taught me to the best of my ability - and as a result of applying their advice feltlike I put on a pretty good show on stage.
The School of Hard Knock Knocks is fantastic. It’s a very supportive environment to try stand up comedy. Plus the support is ongoing as you can continue to perform comedy at The Rubber Chicken open mics and work on your skills as a comedian. I highly recommend the course I learned so much and met amazing fun people in the process!
An epic week. Exhausting, but wonderful. The team are incredibly supportive, they help you discover your personal brand of funny and give you the tools needed to perform it with confidence. Just dive in and do it, you will not regret it.
Amazing experience. Great for improving public speaking and creating new jokes. Plus a free pen, make sure you read what the pen says.
If you have ever thought about doing Stand Up Comedy then go for it. It has to be the best experience in the world.
School of Hard Knock Knocks absolutely fullfilled my expectations of what it's like to do comedy. They taught us so much and made it a safe and fun environment. Ben Horowitz and Morry Morgan have created a great workshop to learn comedy. With great Comedians for guidance.
The journey was incredible.
So get off your tousch and give it a whirl.
See you on the circuit guys.
A great intensive course that really prepares you quickly for performing in front of lots of people. Good training, personal feedback, advice from professional comedians, and very welcoming to beginners and advanced alike. Just remember to do the 2 minute sample 'set' before you turn up on day 1, it really helps with progress!
Very well structured and thought out. Clearly a strong method to their process. Really well suited to the aspiring comedian, those wanting to tick an item off their bucket list, and a really safe supportive space for those wanting to be better public speakers. Highly recommend.
Great course, learned a lot in 5 days. I have never done stand up comedy before, and now I feel I can confidently perform in front any crowd.
What a way to get a jump start into comedy!
I did the course 6 months ago and what I’ve enjoyed the most is the ongoing support and gig opportunities that you get with SHKK.
The course was a whirlwind experience but it’s a great way to learn fast.
The opportunities afterwards are amazing, especially being able to perform at the MICF!
Great company, great people and I love being part of a SHKK family
So much fun:) A fabulous experiential 5 consecutive evening course. Mind expanding, comfort zone stretching, awesome experience.
Thanks for talking me into this course over the phone Morry. I felt it was an exceptional course for a beginner like me. Catherine did a great job in coordinating this and keeping us on track. Ben was very generous with his time and thoughts, as was Gavin. Thoroughly enjoyed having Steve Hughes with us as well. My fellow students were amazing and it was an enjoyable atmosphere. Will endeavour to send a few more people your way for this course. Well done and keep it up! Cheers, Bharath
I did the comedy course at the School of Hard Knock Knocks as a bucket lister. I was the oldest participant. I am in my fifties. I got a lot out of it - principally it resparked a dormant desire to perform stand up comedy. That inspiration persists and I completed the course three months ago. I enjoyed and enjoy the camaraderie with my fellow comedic graduands.
Boosting your comedic skills, repertoire or motivation or familiarity with a comedy course can be potentially helpful to participants from a wide variety of backgrounds. There were many much young individuals in my cohort. Some had never fronted a stage before and others had dabbled previously in this most challenging artform. I am now at the stage where I will try to regularly present at open mikes.
Without the course, I would not be doing this.
Great fun and great people. Really good week doing the course and an opportunity to perform your own stand-up in a welcoming environment supported by industry professionals.
I highly recommend doing the course whether you are seeking to get into comedy, ticking a box or just looking to challenge yourself.
Personally, I got alot from the week and have made 7 new friends whom I will greet with a hug for the rest of my life. From nervous beginnings Sunday night to hugs and high fives by Thursday. Can't thank the team enough for putting this on and also the opportunity to perform again in the future as part of the alumni.
Give it a go.you wont regret it.
Couldn’t recommend the course highly enough, if you are debating it, stop debating and sign up!
I cannot thank Morry and Ben enough for running such a great course. If you're drawn to comedy for whatever reason, this is an extremely supportive environment where you will learn a lot and laugh just as much!
I started my first night by shaking like a leaf with nerves. Second night in, my fear made me question what I was even doing there. By grad night a calm came over me and my classmates and I were lucky enough to share the stage with our hilarious teachers, as well as the extremely funny, Michael Tucker and comedy legend, Jeff Green.
One of the best experiences of my life!
Great course loads of help with our existing material and creating more and set us up on the scary journey of going up on stage trying to be a funny in a friendly and supportive environment. Would recommend!
This was so much fun, and I can't think of a better way of doing stand up for the first time. Morry and the team give great feed back, the cohort a really encouraging and you make some great friends along the way.
On my first night, I was nervous on stage and could barely get a pity laugh. By graduation I was confident, engaged with the crowd and at one point had the audience in uncontrollable laughter. What better praise can I give? They're excellent teachers at this school.
Just a fantastic experience. The tutoring was excellent and improved my comedic performance tremendously. I am now regularly performing around Melbourne and developing new material. I would encourage anyone interested in doing stand up comedy to sign up for the the School of Hard Knock Knocks. You will not regret it!
