Schmucks Bagels reviews
60Another hidden gem in Melbourne CBD with amazing bagels. Also have Gluten free bagels which were fresh and extremely soft
Had the cauliflower bagel, was super tasty and refreshing. Would definitely come back to try the other bagels. Good variety of bagels to choose from.
Have ordered bagels from this place twice and I give it 5 stars. The bread is delicious, soft and crunchy at the same time and the fillings are tasty and generous. They have a selection of fairly priced sweet and savoury bagels, definitely worth a go:)
Amazing! Great service and great taste. Thanks for being open for takeaway during lockdown. Keep up the good work guys!
Nothing special and a pretty average bagel experience. I did not get the authenticity of a typical salmon bagel as I am used to having and as claimed on social media. The salmon bagel I received didn’t even have capers or dill as shown in pictures on Shmucks social media platforms. The pickled onions had no punchy or tangy flavour as it should have and the bagel was below average. Good for a pick me up snack If you had no other food option but probably won’t go again. Had higher expectations but did lot satisfy, I am yet to find an authentic tasting bagel in Melbourne.
As a person with gluten intolerance, I cannot express how good Schmuck’s Bagels are. I have had several different toppings and they’re all delicious! The gluten free bagels are soft and fresh - possibly the best gluten free bread product I’ve ever had (you know how usually GF bread seems a bit dry and stale - it’s not like that at all!).
The bagels are always warm and fresh, and have been packed and delivered with care throughout the lockdown period.
I’m so impressed. Honestly, 6/5 stars. You guys are amazing, keep up the incredible work.
I had a reasonably tasty GF bagel with cream cheese here last weekend. I should have asked how 'gluten free' the GF bagel is, but I don't think it's safe for coeliacs because I had a rough day the next day. My non-coeliac partner enjoyed his normal bagel and our coffees were very good! Unfortunately probably will not return, however.
Great service, fresh bagels, very filling and generous servings. Very quick service. So many options to choose from. Highly recommend.
This is the place to be, if you want delicious bagels! Varieties for non-vegetarians. Just two options for vegetarians though; Avo our way with Avacado and capers and Hippie Slicer with hummus roasted cauliflower, tomato and lemon.
I've tried both of the vegetarian and both are delicious.
I love the setting of the cafe, and the staffs are really friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're a bagel-fanatic.
These are the BEST bagels in Melbourne! So tasty and so delicious - I have recommended to all colleagues and friends who have also fallen in love. Can’t recommend enough!
Great bagel shop, had the lov lox and avo our way and where both really good. Have been to a few good bagel shops in the Melbourne CBD and I would rate this one the highest.
Excellent quality bagels in a quiet location. I had the Polish Hot Brown which is perfect for brunch.
Leckeres Essen, freundliches Personal, gute Musik und die Preise sind für Melbs echt in Ordnung
Great bagel sandwiches. Would have given 1 more star if they had a wider bagel selection. Did not try just a bagel and cream cheese so can not comment on purely on the bagels.
This place is hidden on little bourke st. Ordered fiery chicken bagel and classic avo bagel which came out very good. Both bagels were accompanied with a slice of pickle.
A cute little bagel place, enjoyed the coffee and breakfast bagels for brunch. The meal was decent sized and filling and I thought they were pretty tasty, with the service being fairly quick. I look forward to revisiting this place and trying something else on the menu.
I didn’t like the 2010 Steve Carell & Paul Rudd movie Dinner For Schmucks.
However, breakfast from Schmucks is on my all time top ten!
Great bagels, everything made quickly, hardly ever closed and just a staple of city life. As I live in the city I’m surrounded by choice and can walk past 2-3 other places selling bagels on the way to Schmucks but I’m not tempted by those other bakers.no sir.
P. S.also good coffee.
Really disappointed in the lack of care provided by Schmucks Bagels. I ordered a bagel and smoothie from Deliveroo this morning and I specifically asked to have the smoothie made vegan as I didn't realise it was already pre-packaged (There is no description underneath the smoothie). Rather than calling me to say it's not vegan and asking if I wanted something else as a replacement, they sent it anyway. I called to explain the situation and was given an excuse that they were too busy to call and that I needed to redirect my complaint elsewhere. The bagel was delicious but the poor customer service and lack of care trumped that. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from here again.
I come here now and then to grab my bagel fix given there really isn't any specialty shops around CBD. Service has been slow at the beginning when these fellas opened and order mix-ups were very common.
There has been some improvement in services over the last few months (not sure whether its because there are new owners as the staff looks the same) and average wait time for a coffee & bagel decreased from 7-10 mins to 3 mins.
However, cost of the bagels are quite high. This is steep compared to other non-specialty stores and even if you order a standard bagel, say a Blueberry bagel would set you back A$5.50. In the past, spreads/condiments were free but they have now started charging A$1.00 for all spreads which isn't very fair. I haven't yet been to a cafe who would charge me extra for asking to put spreads on my toast.
Delicious bagel sandwiches! 치킨아보카도샌드위치 (A$12.5) 랑 홈메이드살라미 (A$12.5) 테잌어웨이해서 먹었는데 홈메이드살라미 승! (살짝 김치볶음밥 맛이 났다) Too much mustard in the chicken avocado sandwich. Loved the homemade salami sandwich!
