Schmucks Bagels reviews
60 Delicious bagels, delicious coffee, on the pricier side compared to other nearby bagel places. Great for takeaway, they also have lots of seating and it doesn't get too busy.
Wish they had more options (some plainer bagels, more veggie options?).
Bagels done right! Visited for breakfast and these were so delicious we even got takeaway for a quick lunch on the go since we had to catch a flight in the afternoon. Definitely get the Luv u Lox which is an absolutely delicious classic staple at most bagel places with rye bagel, cold smoked salmon, cream cheese and rocket. Polish hot brown was tasty as well with the kewpie mayo being a surprisingly good addition and complement to the different flavours. Not much seating for dine-in since most customers seem to come for takeaway, so we dined alfresco and sat right by the window, but overall plus points for the cosy atmosphere and small cafe vibes which was excellent for a rainy cold Melbourne morning. Would definitely recommend reheating some of the takeaway bagels though since these are best enjoyed hot (except the smoked salmon bagels)
My experience here made me love bagels even more! Love the selection and they really taste amazing! It wrapped up my trip to Melbourne on a wonderful note!
Had a pretty bad experience here, though bagel was good.
The short version, the cashier mixed up my order, meaning my bagel took about 30 minutes to come out, and resulting in me eating alone, as my family had theirs 20 minutes prior.
What compounded this, was that even though it was their mistake, they requested I pay a $4 difference, along with another surcharge, even though I'd paid one prior.
Look, mistakes happen, but as a business you should've owned the mistake, and let the petty difference in amount slide, given you wasted my time, and delivered a bad eat-in experience. I'm now not sure I want to come back.
Amazing bagels, great friendly service, heaps of different ones to choose from, close to free tram stop. So yum!
It’s not easy to trust a bagel…. They can be very seedy at times
.
The bagels at @schmucksbagels however can be trusted to deliver the absolute goods?
This cute little hidden away gem came up as recommended on our Uber Eats home page & we couldn’t resist!
.
Struggling to choose between sweet and savoury we made the unanimous decision to devour in a selection:
? Morning Sunshine: pastrami & egg melted cheese, Dijon mustard and chilli mayo. The ratios where bang on and the do not scab on the pastrami
? Love You Lox: smoked salmon, creamy cream cheese, pickled red onions, cress, lemon in a rye bagel. A little bit too heavy on the cress, although it added a nice texture. The huge serving of cream cheese also did not disappoint 2 of the biggest cheese lovers on the plantet
? PB & J toasted blueberry bagel, peanut butter and raspberry jelly. Our go too sweet option did not disappoint, with a nice ration of PB to J. The blueberry bagel also worked perfectly.
.
I’m so incredibly keen to hit this place up again on my next melb visit to work through the massive menu
Lots of bagels to choose from on the menu depending on what you're feeling like. I've ordered the miss you lox twice already, it's delicious. Thankfully they are open during lockdown and busy at that!
Excellent food and well worth a visit. Gluten-free options where great for my wife and the breakfast bagels cater for most palettes
Photos are off
BEBB Bagel (Bacon and Egg, tonkatsu sauce on Gluten-free bagel)
Morning Sunshine (Pastrami and scrambled egg, melted cheese, Dijon mustard
Ordered through deliveroo. I ordered S. E. B. B and morning sunshine bagels. I loved them the flavour, seasoning was perfect. I will order or visit the place for sure. Highly recommended for bagel lovers.
First time here, excellent service, freshest ingredients, bagels were delicious and so much filling in the bagel where you almost need to eat with a fork!
Definitely be back and highly recommend!
WOW! An extremely generous bagel at the most reasonable price. The atmosphere of the workers feels like family and I love that they play pop bangers on the speaker so I can sing along whilst eating. Go here if you're looking for a filling meal at a price that doesn't remind you you're in Melbourne CBD
Bagels were good and coffee was even better. Knowing how competitive the cafe scene in melbourne is, this one is for keeps!:)
Been here twice now and they are soooo good!
Some great authentic bagel options with delicious coffee! Highly recommend:)
We had an amazing breakfast on the last day before coming back to Sydney. Food was amazing and coffee was great. Above all, the staff’s hospitality truly stands out. We had a big group ordering and one hot chocolate was missing. The staff was very apologetic after they were made aware of the situation and kindly offered us a complimentary drink. Overall, we had a very lovely time.
Absolutely love the bagels here! They have a really great range of fillings, both sweet and savoury, they have vegetarian, meat options as well! The coffee is really good and the staff are very friendly. The café is cute and cosy, and the location is very convenient.
Great food and gluten free bagels. We will be back as it is a great weekend breakfast with a chance to wander around the city.
Totally disappointed. First of all, if you find this place online, like me, and you check the price on the website,
after reach the shop you will have a sad surprise that the prize is different! Around 1$ and 2$ extra!
They said they don't have time to update the website. LOL.
I ordered 2 similar bagels (1 without mayo) and the waitress didn't know which one was with mayo and which one without.
At the end, when I left, after my "Thank you, see you", no a reply at all.
In conclusion: a classic place that survives with all the office in Melbourne CBD without taking care of a possible new client without a suit jacket.
The bagel? Was ok.but 12$! Did I buy it? Yes, therefore I accepted, but no more.
For 12$ and treated like a number, there are many and much better places in Melbourne CDB!
[EDIT]
Funny thing: when they replied to this my review, they wrote: "Hi Nick, " and then they edited and fixed. See.even the right name for a reply.
Yes yes, but we are not a number. Sure!
One of our favorite & go to breakfast delivery. We always end up ordering the following:
Morning Sunshine - Pastrami & egg, melted cheese, Dijon mustard, chilli mayo on sesame
Avo Our Way - Smashed avocado, lemon, pickled red onion, capers, herbs on seedy grain
Luv u Lox - Smoked salmon, creamy cream cheese, pickled red onion, cress, lemon on rye
The best bagels in the city, that are not just affordable, but super yummy!
We will always come back for more: D
Yea it was good. I wouldn't say it's the best in Melbourne or anything to rave on about. If your nearby and feel like a bagel to go then this is your kinda place
Had the bacon and egg bagel for breaky.
Delicious. Coffee was good. A little hard to find. It's halfway down the lane. Follow the scooters, deliveries going out every minute.
