Rumi Brunswick reviews
83The food and service were fantastic. Friendly staff and prompt service. We struggled to know what to order because everything sounded so delicious. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was because the music was a bit too loud making conversation difficult. It can be quite noisy when the restaurant is full. Otherwise it was a great place to dine. Will certainly return.
The new restaurant doesn't carry sound very well and some kind of panels are required in the space to keep noise levels of everyone talking so that we can all hear each other rather than yelling over each other. There were no sigara's left so we didn't get to try them and the quail skewers were cold which we advised the waitress who asked if we wanted what was left reheated. The best and most flavorsome dish was the Lebanese sausages! Potatoes were delicious too!
We did the 12 plates menu and were super impressed! We took the full 2hrs to enjoy all the plates and our waitperson was so friendly and answered all our questions about fishes and ingredients. Sour Cherry mocktail was super yummy and washed it down with a cute pot of tea.
10/10 Would reccommend:)
Finest waitress in Melbourne (Molly). The quail was regal and the Turkish delight was sublime.
Rumi’s really is a delight- the food is amazing and the staff are warm and wonderful. A group of friends and I meet there monthly to enjoy their incredible banquet.
A favourite for any trip to Melbourne. We went with a group from work, the food was delicious and the hospitality warm and friendly as always.
We randomly booked for dinner after watching a re-run of an old Anthony Bourdain show. This iconic restaurant did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like family. The food was sensational and the servings generous. We had cheese cigars, eggplant and lamb shoulder, roasted cauliflower, crunch prawns all were all amazing. The lamb fell beautifully off the bone and the eggplant was full of middle eastern flavour. We shared a selection of the deserts as a group of 4 and each was unique and delicious. The baklava ice cream sandwich a standout. The service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant has a great vibe and yet is cosy enough to still be able to have a conversation. Can't wait to return to Melbourne just to come back to this wonderful venue.
The service was ridiculously slow! Ordered 2 main dishes the one came first was the lamb shoulder a pieace of cold meat and 15 minutes later the second one was served, my kids starving and literally filled their tummies with the flatbread and water!
A fantastic institution that has been dishing out amazing food with great service for many years.
I had my birthday here with a group and it was 10/10 experience. Someone said it felt like home but with other guests and I agree.
Jade was very helpful with the booking process. The staff on the day were so warm and diligent-special shoutout to Lucy!
We had the banquet with some dietary requirements that weee catered for and we left there too full! The cauliflower and cheese cigars were my highlights but everything was amazing!
Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend.
The service and food were both excellent, the banquet was a memorable culinary journey. Highly recommended.
On a side note, parking inspectors are active late into the night.
Absolutely loved the fried cauliflower and grilled corns! Very unique flavours.would love to visit again and try out their banquet in future!
Great restaurant. Excellent selection of foods and so tasty. Opened promptly and people at the door waiting to get in. Which is a good sign! Service was lovely and friendly. They were very accommodating with dairy free. Lamb was cooked beautifully, cauliflower was delicious. Salads were so tasty! And to finish off with dessert! Turkish delight!
Lively atmosphere.but not overbearing your senses.portion size are bit smaller for the price. Would recommend shish for sure.also Persian Pilaf rice.
We had an awesome experience here. We went for dinner for two for my girlfriends birthday and had the 12 dish banquet which was delicious. Perfectly balanced, flavourful and colourful - leaving us very full and halfway towards food coma town.
The best part was they went above and beyond to wish her a happy birthday! Amazing food and amazing staff:)
Absolutely delicious
Ordered all plant based items and they where phenomenal
Must gets the potatoes and eggplant
Excellent evening at Rumi. My husband and I went for date night. We ordered the banquet matched with drinks - a good variety of food and just the right amount, with smart pairings. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and the vibe was chill.
This gem is a must go! There were dishes so good we ordered a 2nd round!
The manager was very friendly and making sure we had a good time. The restaurant was very busy when we were there (Friday night) so booking is highly recommended.
My highlight food was the fried cauliflower and the almond tarator. We finished it so quickly & had to order another one instantly.
Definitely worth the visit!
Delicious feast at Rumi. Had the Turkish dumplings and the cabbage salad, with a labneh to start. Divine and delicious! Looking forward to returning very soon!
Date night here wash delish, great banquet option for $60pp. Would be great to maybe add on to the dessert, one piece of Turkish delight each seemed a bit light.
