Rubira's reviews
71Brilliant Sunday Birthday lunch for 20. Food was stunning, service unmatched, drinks excellent. Simply could not fault it! Our guests were also absolutely effusive about the offering. Well done. Thanks a million. We will be back.
Just the best meal I have ever had in my life, and I've had some bloody good ones! Shout out my boy Quincy did nun' wrong #freehimup #mygee
Not one to usually leave a poor review, but left utterly disappointed. Been meaning to visit and try Rubira’ for a while. Unfortunately disappointed and not left wanting more or the urge to be back.
Food was extremely bland, the service is what pushed my review from a 3 star to a 2 star. Very cold hospitality, couldn’t even get a hi or a welcome from lady that “welcomed” us upon arrival. Lady pointed out which table is ours and that was about it. No energy around the place and staff have no energy/passion and confidence in the food/menu they are representing/serving.
Was expecting a much better experience.
Food here is absoloutley delicious, especially the garlic prawns, but the extremely poor service ruins the entire experience. Staff are unattentive, slow to take orders/clear tables, and show no enthusiasm or friendliness. Really disappointing considering the cost of a meal.
Ticks all the boxes, service, value for money, great food, great menu choices and good atmosphere. What more can you ask for. You’ve got to try the King George whiting with Mediterranean spices. Yum!
Waiters were excellent and friendly
Party of 10 attended and enjoyed the delicious Morton Bay bugs
Going back in 2 weeks
Nice and cozy restaurant, Good collection of wine and the seafood is great. Tried the bugs - which was great. The dessert was average
Service was good. Food was good but too pricey. Oysters and fish and chips were priced well. Shrimp cocktail and Morton Bay bugs too expensive for what was on offer
A truly wonderful seafood restaurant to which I return time and time again. The honey bug tail puffs and chilli prawns are great starters. Warning if you're sharing! One honey bug tail per person is never enough. This time I had Rockling as a main, simply pan fried with no coating. It was perfectly cooked such that it melted in the mouth with the creamy taste which makes this fish so special. If you love seafood, you won't be disappointed.
Great Pub, a little pricey but worth it.
Great A la Carte Menu predominantly Fish,
Very fresh, and quality Food. Definitely recommended.
The restaurant is very down to earth, pub style dining but quality of seafood is 5 star. It can be fairly expensive especially if you order few drinks, so I would suggest it for special occasions. Our stand out was scallop, morton bay bugs and scampi. Happy dining! We will surely be back.
Made a booking via email, someone got back to me asking how many people, I replied thinking that it would be confirmed. Called them on the day of the booking to confirm and was told they didn't have my booking, told me I could hang out at the bar and wait for a table. Never been here and probably won't go back after that experience.
We had a great meal, the food was undoubtedly fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. The service was perfect, with food arriving at perfect intervals and with a smile every time. The recommendations were spot on. I couldn’t fault my pan fried John Dory. Prices were reasonable and you couldn’t go past the Rubira’s Shiraz. Thank you for a great meal Rubira, we’ll be back and we’ll highly recommend you to others.
Disappointing - service was slow tables all waiting for their meals! The food was very basic - scallops over cooked and very little seafood on the linguine - two prawns,
4 mussels and very little else - this was a main meal not an entre. The fish of the day,
flat head, 2 two small pieces for $38!
So disappointed and this wa
s a birthday lunch and my son was so upset as it was his suggestion.
Wouldn't recommend this establishment!
Adhoc decision to dine at Rubira's with my family. Absolutely delighted with their menu, service and seafood dinner. All dishes cooked to perfection. 5 Stars for me.
The food was superb and the service was great. We were impressed with the staffs knowledge and attention to detail. Highly recommend Rubiras at Swallows.
As usual the selection of seafood was comprehensive & service excellent.
Best seafood in Melbourne.
Delicious scallops and oyster platter washed down with cold beers in a neighborhood with a little class environment and great staff.
Fantastic. Wow. Awesome. Great seafood. Took some major clients there for Xmas lunch. We had loads of dishes from oysters, scallops, rockling and salmon. Have to say the rocklong was stunning, with a few bottles if cloudy bay.life is good!
Outstanding meal. Had the most unbelievable Hatukah fish. It was delicious, one of the nicest fish I have ever eaten. They get my 10/10 rating.
