Rubens @ Hepburn

Second time now we’ve dropped in to get a takeaway pizza; chose the Rubens (their house special) and it is a very enjoyable pizza; i’m putting it up there as 10/10; great base, good range of toppings and the istra salami was at the right bite to enjoy the wole offering. Highly recommended; will dine in one day soon.

Second time at Rubens last night and it is just so good! We had the seafood marinara and the squid was just cooked to perfection. Daylesford will always be a special place and Rubens will always be a must-visit!

Always a good night, staff are excellent. Extensive menu, could do with some specials or changes for variety for repeat patrons but meals are always good.

I ordered a chicken pizza to take away after long day sight seeing at Daysleford. It was fresh, hot and delicious. The chicken wasn’t frozen or processed. They were crowded and looked busy. Definitely a favourite to many. Open during Easter weekend. I hope to come back for a dine in.

We visited Hepburn Springs on the Chillout weekend recently. Rubens have delicious tasty food and fast service considering how busy they were. We booked a table at 5.30 for 6pm without any trouble. Only complaint was it was a bit noisy. We left so FULL!

Absolutely delicious meals. Prepared with care and attention to detail. Great prices. Service excellent. Couldn't fault.

Next level Italian in a lovely venue. We got to sit on the enclosed porch which was SO nice. You'll prolly be battling if you don't book but they have a limited takeaway menu if you forget. Flanks for 2 great visits, Rubens!

Been here several times in the past. Always a good visit, however they did forget our meals and we ended up waiting over an hour for the mains I’m not going to give them a negative feedback but just pointing out the experience as Rubens has been a great visit in the past.
Local bruschetta was different in a good way. I had the seafood pasta that lacked a little flavour and my partner had the seafood chicken that was always the reason she came back to Rubens for.

SO yummy! The food was delicious (still dreaming of my pizza), staff were all very friendly with great service. If you’re staying nearby or driving through you definitely need to eat at Rubens. Can’t wait to be back!

Whenever we stay in Daylesford or Hepburn, we always stop past Rubens for a meal. Always fresh delicious food and friendly staff!

Mixed experience. We ordered:
- Rustic Bruschetta - it was excellent, fresh ingredients and crunchy bread but not too toasted. Only issue was that there was only one piece
- Greek Side Salad - good serving, a lot of lettuce for a Greek style salad but still very nice.
- Jesse Risotto - disappointing, very glugy.
- Greek Lamb Pizza - dough was pastey, more of a takeaway style pizza than a restaurant quality pizza

Good Italian restaurant, food was a very good standard but sadly restaurant lacks ambiance. Initially seated on a table in a busy thoroughfare and had to ask to move to a vacant nice corner table.

The team at Rubens were so lovely. Special shout-out to Dollar and Joseph who really went out of their way to make our meal special.

The salads were so fresh, the pastas were really flavoursome. Even the chips were good! Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a lovely meal. We loved it so much we came back the next night for takeaway pizzas!

I visited this restaurant while passing through for the weekend and was very happy with the meal. It was well presented and tasty and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend Reubens to everyone it’s a must if you want a delicious meal.

We went for lunch just few minutes before closing time. The staff was very kind and took the order. It says Mediterranean cuisine but the menu says Italian dishes. Whatever we were hungry had a nice pizza and fettuccine. Taste was good.

The service was friendly and efficient and the food was something else beautiful! Fairly priced for the location and the steak was close to the best I’ve ever eaten! Compared to another high class restaurant we went to in daylesford the same week there food was very average! Definitely be back actually ordered take away pizza the following night the food was so good we needed more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered takeaway from their website. I was told 15 minutes to pick up. I got there after 15mins. Then I waited for 20 minutes until someone acknowledged me and served me. Even though they had staff just standing there refusing to make eye contact. I was over charged and when I asked them to clarify the prices they said the website prices were wrong. They were rude, Incredibly infuriating and frustrating. When I got home with my cold food, we had been served burnt chicken!

Amazing, friendly service!
The food & cocktails were absolutely delicious. Could not fault the entire evening, will certainly be returning. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Hepburn.

Warm, inviting dining room with a roaring fire that we were sat by. Friendly service and pleasant, affordable food. Well worth stopping by.
