Royal Hotel reviews
59Had Wednesday night specials, all very good, will go again, good drinks, good old fashioned service, friendly staff
Cannot recommend this Hotel strongly enough. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs. My squid was melt in your mouth tender and the mash was silkier than I've ever been able to achieve. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
The meal was very nice.
Beer cold.
Friendly people.
We stayed in the free camping area behind the pub in out van.
Plenty of space.
Great views of the
Goulburn River behind the pub.
Great place, get treated like a king. The food was delicious and the service was excellent
We wound up at the Royal after a car break down. John and the girls were most helpful, we waited there over a few beers until the ride John organised turned up.
He even offered a secure location for our broken car. 1st rate country care thx
Didn't stay at the venue. Had a meal. Was sensational feed. Would recommend to anyone to have a feed there. Cant go wrong!

7 people for $258. Not Bad!
Not a big dining room but has a great beer garden, and staff are really friendly. Meals are very lovely I would recommend booking to ensure you get a table
Great food only thing could not get coffees.
But service and food very good especially for a Wednesday lunch.
Had a booking for 7: 30, turned up early to only a handful of tables occupied and the smell of a nursing home. Decided I would order early as it was not busy and was turned away immediately by the rude bar staff. They exclaimed they where being overun with orders (was not the case). I was then scolded by the bar maid and told if I wanted to order early I should of booked earlier while she clapped out the syllables in my face. Extremely disappointed with the service. Would not recommend. Would rather go six doors down and spend my money at the Prince Hotel. Very rude.
We had lunch today (November 2022) just two+ weeks after major flooding. Somehow the team have cleaned out the pub, connected some taps and got the kitchen up and running (with a limited menu). What a wonderful experience. The beer garden is shady and comfortable, the historic buildings are atmospheric, and food and drinks are superb. Basic, traditional "country pub" food but done really well. And great service. If you are wondering about going to Seymour so soon after the floods, do. They've worked hard to be up and running, and this is the classic country pub experience.
Hats off to the Royal Hotel Seymour!
They are recovering from a kick in the guts like lot of Northern Victorians at the moment.
2 meters of water in the basement and a lot of work to stay open.
Paul the Publican is a gentleman and a greatious host providing great quality food served by great staff.
Will come back again just because I can.
When I needed help for accommodation, they were nice enough to help me find somewhere, friendly too!
Thank you for your response to my earlier review which I have now removed. The response was very much appreciated and I apologise for the negative nature of my review. We will be sure to return and enjoy your hospitality on another occasion. As I said your staff were lovely. Thank you.
Rude customer service as soon as we came in, continued to be rude throughout the night, as if we were inconveniencing them being there lol. Won’t be returning.
First time at the Royal hotel for dinner on a Monday night pleasantly surprised with the menu. Venue had a great atmosphere that enhanced the dining experience the staff friendly and welcoming.
Had a great meal at the royal with friends last night. The other two devoured their meals, so I'm sure they were great also. Tim and John are fantastic, both knowledgeable and friendly. I'd recommend the Royal for anyone after a classic pub experience.
