Roule Galette Carnegie reviews
74 Quite soggy crepe when we visited last time, charged extra $3 for tiny amount of whipped cream. Not to mention 15% surcharge the customer has to
Cop as business won’t factor it in for their employees.
If it was for public holidays it’s understandable but for weekends?
That’s a lot of $$$ for tiny pieces of bread.
As
Per the government this is not legal either and we don’t know how the employees are paid.
Really good crepes. My friend and I love Biscoff spread and the fact that they have a crepe with Biscoff, ice cream, fruit and chocolate is just *chef's kiss*.
I have tried their salted caramel, nutella and ham and cheese crepes which are all really, really good. But if you're a Biscoff lover, you really need to give that a shot.
If you're around the area having a meal elsewhere, save some space for dessert and pop by for a crepe. You won't regret it.
I'm French and every time I was feeling homesick, I would run to Roule Galette. Best galettes and crêpes that you'll find in Melbourne, with authentic French staff (you even get a French map with pins to see where the staff is from), French music, and just a beautiful and cosy atmosphere. Some French restaurants have staff that can come across as distant (as French people appear at first), but not this one. Everyone is super friendly and you can really feel that they care about their costumers. Nothing will replace a crêperie from Brittany, but this is honestly the next best thing you will find on this side of the world.
Came here for the first time today. Service was all over the place. Very inefficient. Ordered brunch and the waitress not only got the order wrong but actually did not put through my friends order. When brought to her attention she told the kitchen but pretended that she did put it through and it was being made. The kitchen is directly in front of us.we’re not blind. It came and it was incorrect- but didn’t bother to complain as it was clear that the service and kitchen was all over the shop. Food was excellent which was great- but service was just a huge let down. Needs attention and improvement. Everyone needs to know their role and who is serving tables, attending to walk in patrons and orders for collection or takeaway, coffee and kitchen. It was chaotic for no reason.
Omg I love there food so much! The crepes are amazing and they have a wide variety of choices to choose from! The prices are very reasonable as well! The staff are lovely! I am definitely going back and I would definitely recommend!
A welcome addition to this multicultural strip in Carnegie. A menu full of indulgence which didn't disappoint. Also an opportunity to use the French language if you have that skill. Coffee just a pass but food yummy.
I’m really impressed. Just finished an Awsome cheese platter to share. The atmosphere is great and the staff are on point. This is a more relaxed environment than I thought it would be. Great job
It is a authentic french experience, I am not sure being french is a prerequisite for the employment, the crepe and galette were nice both savoury and sweet. What a lovely surprise to have found this place
Great food, as they only use fresh and quality products all the time. Lovely and very hospitable staff. And place has a cosy, romantic, feel. Always our go-to place on Valentine's Day:)
Im really sorry to write this review, but as a local i thought i would support this business by purchasing one of their delicacy boxes filled with french sausage, hams etc.i didn't mind paying $26 as i thought it would be worth it! I didn't check the contents of this box until i got home as having enjoyed many a french fare, i trusted it would be great.big, big, big, disappointment.hardly enough for 2 people and the quality was terrible!
i realise we have all been in lock down, but we haven't lived with our heads under a rock and i think most in Melbourne appreciate good quality food whatever the nationality.i understand that times are really tough for the restaurant business, but please dont take advantage of your locals and treat them like fools who dont know any better! If this was served up to a french person, there would have been a revolution.i wont be giving this business my patronage in the future
One of my family’s favourite dessert places! The crepes are made fresh to order and there’s so many yummy flavours to choose from!
Had an amazing dinner here tonight. Fantastic atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Anabelle looked after us and was very accommodating. Food was delicious and we will be back very soon. Cheers!
Amazing variety of delicious crêpes at great prices. We go at least once a week. They also have great European coffee & chai latte. Feel like you're in France!
Good service, and super nice atmosphere! Their crepes are delicious, and there is a pretty large range. It is a bit overpriced, and if you order multiple crepes/galettes, they often wait until all are made to serve, which means they can get quite cold. Overall pretty good!
Good place to enjoy some quality dessert around that area. Tried their savoury dishes but decided to just stick with their dessert and drinks, it doesn't mean their savoury dishes are bad but I would rather eat at one of the restaurant in that same street (lots of option) and go there for dessert.
Highly recommend their Pranai Chai
My favourite is Gourmande (crepe with banana, strawberries, ice cream, almonds and chocolate) you can swap chocolate to Nutella for extra 50c trust me you wouldn't regret doing it. If you feel that's a lot to eat then just order Monkey (crepe with banana and chocolate) always change chocolate to nutella for better taste and you can also add ice cream with it for extra $3
You can definitely feel french vibe in this place and all the staffs are french and they are really friendly.
I like the small flower pot on the tables where they always have some fresh flowers (before covid).
So ideally its a good place to bring a date for some dessert
When you walk in and the spoken language behind the counter is French, you know it's going to be a good crepe. Also check outage incredible rare list of French aperitif's and spirits.
Love this French cafe holding its own in the middle of predominantly Asian cuisine. Highly recommend. We need variety.
Friendly staff, lovely French crepes and great coffee! With the French music in the background, I feel like I’m in France! Happy to have discovered this place!
A bit of France in the neighborood, charming addition.fine food and friendly staff. Keep up the good work.
If you loke your crepes this is the place to go to! Absolutely amazing crepes! Never dissapoints
