Heard about the place on Reddit and gave it a try today. I ordered Half Chicken and chips and my thoughts on the same below: -
1. The chips were a mix bag of crispy and soggy although the Chicken Salt that they use seems better seems less salty.
2. As for the chicken it's really good and isn't dry or oily. I like a good seasoning and found it really good here.

First time here the grilled chicken berger was the best I ever had amazing very tasty definitely coming back again

Great place for charcoal grilled chicken and fresh salads with a range of juices. The staff are very exceptional, always slaving over a hot rotisserie!

Staff to busy chatting instead on focusing on customer missing items try to call no one answering

So popular and I can see the attraction. Good value for money, nice chicken, kids really rate the chips. Salads and ok too. I just would like a bit of an update to the seating area to provide a bit of separation from the crowd waiting for their take away and the diners. Also their service can be variable. Last time I waited 5min for my meal ordered after the kids. Their meal I had to follow up twice.

The staff that served me was talking to someone while serving me. So i have to keep on repeating myself. Then i ws waiting for my order when everyone was already left i asked the her how long does it take and she made an excuse saying they are still doing it. Then the salad i ordered none left because they've forgotten tobdo my order. So i had to choosed a different salad. Then when i got home the chips are not in the bag. I tried to call but can't get through. Bad customer service.

Some of the best charcoal children, salads & other home style cooked food that will keep you coming back for more. Eat like a King without paying a Kings ransome.

Great food, great service.love it, been going for over ten years! They do chickens and Turkey for Xmas, but order early for Xmas day!

On a strip packed with good food options I thought it was worth giving the chook shop a run, with their simple vegan burger sign. I ordered a burger and some vegan nuggies as a side. It was all bloody delicious. I ate that burger so fast i gave myself indigestion. Writing this review while i got post nut clarity because it was that damn good. Ill be back and ill get 2 next time.

Best burger and chips around. An absolute must for Fast Food Friday lunch if you’re in the area.

Cheap and filling but unadventurous. Standard style chips, no 'gourmet" chips, no roast pumpkin. But cheap and filling.

This place is part of the family. Been fresh and tasty for going on 20 years. Always brings a smile to the dial. Thanks to the whole team at Rooster bar that have fed the broader family so many times

My experience today was great with the staff.
Rachel and her co-employees couldn’t have been more helpful.
My only criticism is that the staff aren’t trained or treated properly. The ‘manager’ was sitting at a booth with mates and had to be called over when they needed him! Show some leadership.
And please don’t let young people feel that is the way the workforce is.

When in Fairfield.

A cliché which has been prevalent in modern day society.
When in Fairfield you are able to find one of the most historic and memorable Charcoal Chicken stores in Melbourne. Which has existed since the days of the Original Pokémon series, way before Carlton FC won it's last premiership and certainly long before Humphrey was axed from television and doesn't look like its about to depart from its universal location anytime soon. Unless the vegan hipster activists get to them…
In all seriousness Rooster bar is as consistent as consistent gets, run by a close knit Greek family who excel in not only chicken but a wide range of salads and a host of different well priced specials.

Love this place. Chicken is always delicious and the chips always have a nice amount of spice and crunch!

Just went in to buy some chicken and not one of the 9 staff was wearing a mask when they are still mandatory.
I asked why and the girl smirked and came up with some excuse.
Every other shopkeeper on Station St has masks on.

The food is excellent, some of the staff act like they don't want to be there and are not very helpful.

Great, fast tasty roast & fried chicken chips burgers and salads. Excellent value and friendly staff

1. Staff are rude to customers; 2. Exceptionally long wait time for food (30+ minutes just for chicken burger + chips) ; 3. Menu was already overpriced, now the greedy owners have jacked up the prices even higher; 4. Despite the overpriced menu, the tightarses refuse to provide any serviettes and make customers pay an extra 10 cents for a bag; 6. NEVER AGAIN.

One of, if not the best charcoal chicken shop in Melbourne. Chips are always crispy and well salted, chicken is always full of flavour and juicy and the salads are all fresh and delicious.

Meals are well priced and they have different special offers on different days of the week.
