The second i entered the door, the staff didn't seem that friendly and likely pretended to be busy to delay talking to me. I had an appointment with the intention of receiving a blow wave type style and additionally showed photos for reference.

The hairdresser was a nice lady and specialised in formal/wedding hair styles. This is not important but relevant. I was told due to how natural my hair was (the lack of hair dye/damaged hair?) that it wouldn't hold the curls/waves that well. Fair enough and the lady opted for something else which l assumed she believed would be better.

The lady curled my hair so hard l experienced a lot of pain. The ringlets were extremely strong and l came to look like a 16 going to their first prom. This made me look prepubescent and potentially if l was to be included in a wedding with matching bridesmaids or flower girls.

I had the worst hair style and constantly felt judged by patrons and other hair dressers. The hair dresser attempted to fix it but to no avail. Wished l got a refund.

I just had my hair cut and coloured and am so happy with the results, the perfect blonde! Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and they genuinely cared/ wanted the best outcome for their clients. Thank u Fiona, Maddy and Rokk Ebony!

Been almost a year and a half since I came here and my hair is still so severely damaged. Do not go here if you want hair on your head

After having my hair ruined at a different salon I contacted Rokk Ebony Malvern. Not only did they squeeze me in for the following day, but Bre did the most incredible job. She was so lovely, made me feel so looked after and like she genuinely cared about my end result. My confidence has gone through the roof, I’m seriously so happy and will never be going to anyone else. Thank you Bre!

Booked a cut and blow wave for my wife Sarah. We were lucky to get an appointment on the day with a lovely stylist Annabel, whom did such a wonderful job with my wife’s hair. She looks beautiful.

I had a haircut today by Penny. She's the best! Loved the whole experience, the receptionist Felicity was lovely, smiling all along. Penny did a fantastic job, changing my hair style from side fringe to one line fringe above eye brows. She was professional and efficient. The whole process took only an hour, including wash, cut and blow dry. She made sure the final look meets my request from the photo reference that I've shown her beforehand. Loved the curly style at the end. I was 100% satisfied today and will definitely come back asking for Penny to do my hair again! Great service and reasonable price as well. Thanks, Penny!

I intentionally booked in with stylist to fit within my budget but was somehow set up with a ‘director’ and charged a lot more. When I brought up the price discrepancy I was told all haircuts are similarly priced and that I’d had ‘at style change’ which I didn’t, the only significant change was a fringe.
The response was cold and uncaring (the exact attitude that is being used to respond to other reviews). Looks like other people have had the same issues with pricing. The website reflects what I was told over the phone, but not in person. The company really needs to correct this mistake as there are legal issues with presenting incorrect price issues. Lucky I’m too broke to do anything about it…

To add salt to the wound; the cut is pretty average. Not worth the price of being over charged and a snippy attitude.

I really wanted to like this salon but unfortunately it was an unpleasant and dishonest experience. I have been going to Rokk Ebony Toorak for over 12 years but decided to try the Malvern salon as my new house is walking distance. This salon should be renamed ‘Joe’s Salon’ because they do not operate like other Rokk Ebony salons and charge what they believe you can afford, not what Rokk Ebony says you should.
I have always seen the technical director for my shoulder-length blonde hair and paid around about the same every time (always quoted prior to starting the cost). Last two visits to the Toorak salon I had a full head of highlights done and was told I would not need the same this time around. Ajay spent over 5.5 hours doing my hair and assured me the price would be “comparable to Toorak’s”. At the end of the appointment I was charged $565 - over $200 more than I should have been and 2.5 hours longer than I’ve ever spent in the chair.
When calling to question this bill the manager Joe was extremely unprofessional on the phone trying to first convince me it was for “extra product” and then explaining this was comparable to my last visit of $420 at Toorak - $145 difference is not even remotely “close to the same price”, not to mention I had also had a hair cut at that prior Toorak visit. I was then fed plenty of lies and excuses trying to justify the additional fee after informing him I did not in fact have a hair cut/trim or anything other than foils and toner.
I recommend Rokk Ebony as a business however highly suggest traveling 8minutes up for the road for a quicker and more professional experience in their Toorak salon.

The service and staff are beyond amazing. I had a terrible experience with a different hairdresser 2 days ago, resulting in an absolute mess. Rokk Ebony squeezed me in and repaired my hair, that had been falling away in handfuls. AJ is fantastic and knew exactly how to fix an unfixable situation and made me feel so happy. Could not recommend this salon more. Thank you guys for saving my hair!

I was in dire need of some TLC for my hair & last minute which the salon manager, Felicity was able to slot me in for the full works only a couple of hours later. She was incredibly warm & welcoming from the second she picked up the phone, to introducing herself with a contagious smile at the basins. She should be incredibly proud of her service & team & I’ve definitely found my new go to salon?

Possibly one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever received in my life. After not being able to get in to my usual hairdresser, I decided to get a cut here as it was close by. Whilst the stylist was pleasant enough, I felt like she wasn’t really listening to anything I was saying - repeatedly asking me the same questions, about what I do as a living as well as the style I was after (which was literally a simple trim and some layers, and I also had photos for reference). I left with a strange hack job that didn’t resemble anything I requested.

I’ve been to this salon once before and Fiona is a superstar. I had some issues out of her control come up during my initial appointment, and Fiona and Felicity were so kind to help me sort it out and fix it. I was never made to feel like a burden, and they really know their stuff here!

This was my first time visiting rokk ebony in Malvern and I will definitely be going back! Fiona cut and coloured my hair and I am super happy with the result. She was warm and welcoming and made me feel completely comfortable, she stayed half an hour past closing time to make sure I was totally happy with the result. Fantastic experience!

There is a reason Rokk Ebony Malvern has been nominated for best salon of the year 17 times. The team are all warm and friendly and really help to make the service memorable. Laura did an amazing job with my hair, both the cut and colour were flawless. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

AJ is the best senior colourist/director I have ever come across! I had been nervous to get my hair done for over 2 years and finally made the decision to go from dark brown to blonde. Within 2 sessions he has completely transformed my hair, given me so much knowledge about the processes he is doing to my hair and given me loads of laughs along the way! All the girls are wonderful and extremely welcoming. Thank you to the entire team that it takes to do my hair

- my head was getting super itchy and a burning sensation with the product they out in my hair at the basin. I told my hairdresser and she said “it shouldn’t be, ill be back in a minute”. She never came back. Someone else washed me off 5 minutes later.
- I had a consult and quote before i sat in the chair and i was given the amount it would cost, i was happy with that. Then about 2 hours into my appointment they had told me they had charge an extra $60. With that price I was not happy at all! My hair was so striped as if we were back in the early 2000’s

I had my hair cut and coloured by Laura and have never been happier. It’s the best styling I’ve had!

I had a full scalp bleach done by Nam. I went from black hair to blonde in one sitting and am so happy with the results. My roots were blended into the blonde so beautifully, did not expect it to look so good in one visit. Will definitely be coming back.

This was my first time visiting Rokk Ebony Malvern, and had the pleasure of being treated by Jade, hands down the best hair cut I have ever had. I am absolutely obsessed. Will definitely be a loyal long term client to Jade now, she is by far an absolute star! Highly recommend Jade, and the service provided by Rokk Ebony is a 10/10.
