I recently dined at Rocksugar in South Yarra, and the experience was exceptional. The fusion of Asian flavours was perfectly executed, from the Lamb Spring rolls to the amazing Pad See Ew Beef. Impeccable service and a chic ambiance make it a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts. Highly recommended!

I had dinner here for my birthday. I cannot put into words what an experience it was coming out. Food was delicious, drinks amazing, service was exceptional from the waitress AND the bar staff. The atmosphere made my birthday.

What a pleasant surprise! These fusion-Thai dishes from Rock Sugar, South Yarra, were perfectly prepared. Sweet and succulent pork, buttery scallops, fresh tuna. We came here for the aesthetic, but will definitely return for the food

Had a fantastic lunch here. Food and cocktails were excellent but what really stood out was the service. It was casual, non intrusive yet attentive. The gentleman serving made us feel so welcome and comfortable we lingered well past their lunch hours without even realising it. Nothing was too much trouble. Yes, as other people say the food and cocktails are great, but the service is better than o have experienced at any Michelin star establishment.

Tried the pork belly bun, tofu bun, prawn toast, brussel sprouts, and thai chicken salad.
Brussel sprouts is the real highlight; believe it or not! (You won't regret it, give it a try!)
Every dish is so yummy.
Staff are very friendly too.
Will visit another day to try other dishes.
PS: There is a lot of vegetarian dishes too.

Have eaten here quite a few times and also ordered takeaway and food is always amazing, always consistent and to the highest standard! The rockstar martini’s always keep us coming back for more but the whole cocktail menu is exceptionally good! Staff have always been good but special mention to the girl who served us last night (I didn’t get her name) but service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. Will be back again soon!

This place is amazing. Not only are the staff so lovely, but you know a restaurant is special when they are not only ace their whole drinks menu- but also their food! I came with some girlfriends and we had a ball. We ordered some entrees, a couple mains and just shared everything. If you asked me what my fav dish was, it’s hard to choose, but the chicken curry was amazing with the coconut rice. The kind fish was also a definite crowd please. Now onto drinks: I highly recommend the spicy marg, and of course the Insta famous fairly floss cocktail.a perfect date, girls hang or bday venue! Will 100% be back.

The restaurant food concept is really well done. The food was amazing, the interior was amazing, the furniture were comfy, the portion of the dishes were good, the price was still okay even with the inflation. The staffs who brought out our food were friendly except that one waitstaff who were taking our orders looked like she didn’t want to be there and wanted to run out the door.the ambience, the music, the lighting, everything was on point! Some of the best service I have encountered in Melbourne, super attentive. Food was not show stopping but it was great for modern Thai. Drinks are delicious

Really enjoyed our dinner here this evening. Firstly we had exceptional service. Friendly, professional and helpful. The scallops were great. The tuna crackers were also enjoyable. The oysters were huge and fresh. The corn was tasty. The kingfish was ok, spring rolls were interesting. The dumplings were good also. Loved our Mocktails. Will def return. Def recommend.

Outstanding as usual. Great food and cocktails. Nik and Kate brilliant hosts and great restaurateurs Best Thai in Melbourne, can’t wait to come back.

Boom Shakalaka

We had the $65pp banquet and 2 cocktails each and I have nothing but good things to say Food was reasonably quick, super tasty and there was plenty of it! We went to Mr Miyagi a couple of weeks ago and walked out hungry… this was MUCH better value for money. Cockies were also AMAZING! Rockstar martini and the elderflower power were 10/10. We will 100% be back and bringing friends nommmy!

I never write reviews. But I wanted to jump on here and say the waitress who served my party of 7 during dinner on March 1st, unfortunately didn’t get her name, but she’s of Asian background. She was so lovely and had amazing customer service. She was super patient and always made sure to check in with us. We all felt so comfortable dining there. 100% would dine again. Please give her a raise. Thank you:)

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. We’ve been here multiple times and it’s always been amazing. Looking forward to many more visits.

Hidden gem in South Yarra!

Amazing food, attentive staff and a cute atmosphere! The perfect restaurant for a little date night or catch up with your friends. The crispy pork belly bao is amazing!

One of the best and cheapest set menu options in Melbourne. Huge amount of delicious food and staff are great with allergies. Super friendly staff and delightful cocktails. Cocktails are on the pricier side but taste incredible. Perfect for a special event, date night or dinner and drinks with friends.

Take away cocktails are liquid concentrate, not for human consumption. Yellow curry was full of bamboo shoots, the vegetables were completely missing. My gf ended up sick all night from her Tofu dish. When I made a complaint the staff were unapologetic and dismissive. Very disappointing.

Warm mood-lit ambience, amazing decadent cocktail (rocktail) menu, mouthwatering modern Thai-infused menu, super friendly staff and located right off the heart of Chapel St South Yarra. 5 great reasons to come here equals 5 stars for the review and recommendation. A must visit!
