Made a dinner booking here for the first night out of lockdown, we were excited to see our mates and go out for a meal.shortly after we all arrived we were told they had run out of FOOD (and all tap beers)! Thought this was a joke, no food, not even chips. Not sure how a pub runs out of food, but ok. We were pretty understanding about it, tried to make the most of the situation and said no worries can we just order Ubereats and we'll just buy drinks here? They said no at first! Because they were trying to come up with a smaller menu? Half an hour later we're still waiting to hear about the food situation, they come and tell us actually we can order Ubereats because there's still no food. They didn't offer us anything, not even a round of drinks, until we asked for a round of shots which the first guy declined saying why should we get a round on the house just because we made a dinner reservation expecting food and they dont have food? Lol. When our allocated time was up they told us we still had to give up our table for the next booking even though we hadn't been able to order anything. This wasn't even the main issue. It was the attitude of the (male) staff, I get it wasn't your fault but the general attitude was defensive not even apologetic (considering it was the first night out of lockdown, and dinner bookings needed to be made days in advance to get a table anywhere else, not like we could just leave and eat somewhere else). A tip from someone who's worked in hospo for many years. Let your customers order food elsewhere if you cant provide food. Apologize for the mess up and offer a round of drinks. Simple, we would have walked away having had a nice evening. The two stars are honestly just for the service we received from Katie? Who's first shift it was and handled what was obviously a stressful night with a positive attitude and did her best to look after our table.

Super delicious Parma, better than most in the area! Even better were the two lovely wait staff tonight, which were right up there with the friendliest, happiest staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant. Thanks for a great meal guys and gals!

Had a wonderful time here. I love the glasses the beers are served in and the d-floor is a great ol' time to be had. Highly recommend.

There for a birthday party so I had fun.
The bar layout is atrocious and does not work for service. Slow drinks service because the bar men are cramped in a small area - 20 minutes to get my first drink. Then everytime after was minimum 10 minutes. Annoying.

Best proper fish n chips this side of the hemisphere. Hand cut chips as well! Make sure to ask for vinegar with those mushy peas!

The chef here has to be applauded for this guts. They have found a way to incorporate the traditional foods served in bars/toddy shops in the south Indian state of Kerala into this modern, hipster Australian bar! The main meals, thalis, are put together from the individual bar snacks, with a helping of brown rice. I could only try their chicken curry (their fish was not delivered that day), which was spicey, authentic to its Kerala roots. Plenty of vegan options, and some sweet snacks too.

I wouldn't recommend this place to any families with kids, it is after all, a bar. The ambience is shady, the bathrooms are smelly, nudes & graffiti on the walls. But could be a nice change for the young couple.

Great pub in the inner north. We cruised up there to watch the AFL finals and were really impressed with the pub. Cool beers on tap and interesting food - all with an Indian twist. They had the sound on for the footy which was great.

Authentic Kerala dishes at Rochester Hotel, Fritzroy, Melbourne. The nuances are a demonstration of Chef Maya’s culinary skills. The Thoran, Dal with Cheera and of course, the Matta Brown rice. Wholesome and absolutely healthy.

This bar is great. The $40 banquet comes with a massive amount of food. Heaps of vegetation options too.

From the moment we walked through the door the service was friendly and we were greeted with a smile. The two bartenders were great. We wandered off up the back to the sure conditioned space as we'd just done a 10km photowalk. I enjoyed a really nice cider and a pork roll with amazing chilli sauce. The bathrooms were clean. The pub is #accessible in the front bar but has some stairs to get to some areas and no accessible bathroom. The pork roll seemed expensive until I got into it and found it was worth every cent.

Decent renovation but they will never get rid of the stench of beer seeped into the spilled to Fratellis when they were good back in 2007

Fun bar with a cool vibe. Went for trivia on Tuesday night and had a lot of fun. Good food specials but you better be in the mood for Indian, as the menu is focused on that. Wasn't drinking, but wish I was. Beer selection looked good and the house red got a thumbs up from the wife. Bar staff super friendly.

Great food, drinks and vibe but won’t split dinner bills on cards. Crazy - the whole world does - no extra cost and the EFT machine caters for it, and we were splitting across 4 cards evenly not item by item (which is crazy). Cost is the same etc, makes no sense! Also wastes the waiters time explaining the crazy and out of market process!
