Exceptional baked goods in a cosy shop behind the main Trentham strip.
These guys have one of the last remaining traditional ovens in Victoria and use it to churn out some of the best baking going around. Also a good selection of drinks from home made cordial to strawberry milkshake with fresh berries and all the standard cafe drinks.
It's worth the trip out the Trentham all on its own! Come early if you want the best selection of goodies, if it's busy don't give in, it's worth waiting for!

The most amazing bread and food on the menu! Everything is so fresh and flavoursome. Their sourdough bread has the best texture, it has a fluffiness which other sourdough doesn't seem to have. Staff are also wonderful! It's a perfect place really.

Get there to learn about and watch Scotch oven baking.generous serves, lovely ambience and delicious fare. If you visit Trentham, you shouldn't miss this gorgeous cafe. Their sourdough is legendary but while at it try other stuff too.you won't be disappointed!

Took my wife there as she was doing a course there to make sourdough bread. So the place was lively and the smell of the fresh bread coming out of the kitchen was an experience that is something that stays with you for a long time.

Only had a coffee and some fresh rolls for breakfast as I was going to get something on their lunch menu later. When later arrived the queue to get lunch was nearly out the door, yet the place around the corner was empty. When you see what is on the menu you will understand why. But I did arrive on a peak day in peak hour.

Look forward to having one of their sourdough bread at home from the ones my wife made at their bakery.

Good but so overpriced would be great for someone to start up in competition it wouldnt be difficult and red beards products are nothing extraordinary.
I think they have a laugh at the tourists that cram in to visit i know very few locals that will bother.

Best vanilla slice ever. Definitely beats the Sorrento slice hands down.

Might seem a tad pricey overall but that's the difference between a baker and an artist.

Definitely a recommend.

Love the food, love the atmosphere. A diamond in a haystack. UPDATE: I am very sad because they took my favorite thing off the menu which was Homemade Baked beans with avocado toast. So sad.

Bought HXB Hot Cross Buns at Red Beard Bakery Trentham this morning and they are absolutely perfect. If you are in search of the best HXB, go to Trentham, go to Red Beard Bakery and devour one or two dozen.
