Red Rooster reviews
63I come here all the time for the roast chicken. Yes, it's fast chicken, but in my opinion, it beats a rotisserie and it's only $2.95 more expensive than the Coles/Woolworths option. Also, with their rewards programme, you can save about 60c on each chicken, bringing the cost down.
1/4 Chicken was not great, just OK. Really the smell was of off butter. Probably the chicken was on the turn. I ate it anyway because I was hungry and in a rush. I will probably avoid Red Rooster in future. I'm firmly a fan of BBQ chicken when it's fresh and flavoured well, really how could you get roast chicken wrong? Woolworths and Coles also murder cooked chicken which regularly make me sick. Local BBQ Chicken stores such as "Chicken with a twist" in South Melbourne really put these pretenters to shame.
Absolutely disgusting food. Cold, rubbery chips and a strange chemical taste to the rooster roll.
Ordered through menulog, accepted straight away, but took one hour twenty to arrive.
I will never eat here again. Probably because I will be dead from food poisoning.
Ordered through deliveroo @ 9: 45. Order was accepted immediately, I’ve been waiting now for just under an hour (55 mins) and they cancelled the order. Why accept the order and why not cancel it earlier? Waste of time!
Although there was no dine in experience, the atmosphere was incredible. The $5 lunch sub box is the best fast food sandwich. It is such a friendly atmosphere at my local Red Rooster. It is good for a quick meal that meets my nutritional needs.
Food was taking longer than expected but the bloke serving us upsized our meal free of charge as an apology. Really hard to find awesome customer service like this anywhere!
This place is disgusting, dirty tables, broken toilet, broken locks, cleaning chemicals left in bathroom, filthy sink
Roll was still frozen.
Disgracefully managed.
I come here for the corn. This is the only fast food/drive through that I know sells corn. McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks don’t have them.
Ordered some sub type thing with chicken (obvs), mayo and gravy. Totally seemed like a frozen sandwich/burger from a supermarket microwaved.
Also had the spicy box thing which was good, but you're only as good as your worst product (I don't actually believe that, this roll thing was just SO BAD).
I find their burgers more fresh than other big brands around the area. Chips like they freshly cut the potatoes. Very polite and professional staff.
Food was fine but it was freezing cold in there on a cool 18° day. Turn the air conditioner down a notch!
Tried get a healthy lunch hear, chicken and salad! Chicken was dry and cold, the salad was soggy and both took 10 mins to come out and there was no one else in there?
For a fast food restaurant it takes two hours to get a delivery, being a hospitality worker I know for a fact it doesn't take that long to cook a burger. Go elsewhere especially if you want competent people making your food
I love my red rooster but the nuggets were almost soggy and they wouldnt let me order there new dinner deal saying it's only on at lunch, yet the billboard out the front it says available from 11am, uneducated staff as per usual
I use to visit during my lunch period, I saw an old fat lady was screaming on her crew member in front of customers. One of my colleague made a video out of it, but i don't want to viral that video because of that poor girl, as she seems to be nice and polite with all the customers. Such brutality is unacceptable. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
If you're going to advertise on Menulog make sure you can accept orders. It's just unprofessional. No one wants to wait around for a delivery only to get an email saying your not able to accept three quarters of an hour later. It's chicken on a bun not a fine dining experience. Get a grip!
I used to love Red Rooster, especially their family roast meal and their strip subs. Then I noticed on my last couple of visits that the strips have been changed to some mystery processed meat without any texture. I wrote to tell them that their new supplier or processor or recipe for the strips is not up to their previous quality. To their credit, Red Rooster replied to my email, and said its the same chicken strips they have always used. Perhaps my palate has improved.but I swear their product is not as good as it used to be. Haven't been back since.
I was employed here for 1 week, I previously worked 6 months at another Red Rooster branch (which I had a wonderful working experience at!), being employed before at RR allowed me to skip a few steps in the recruitment process to start working here for the Richmond Red Rooster.
I was hired as a delivery driver (scooter) and a kitchen hand. No training whatsoever was given to me regarding the kitchen layout and my duties when I am not on delivery, they expected me to "know it all" because I had worked in another Red Rooster branch (which had a completely different kitchen layout)
The speedometers on both the scooters are not working, which is dangerous for the drivers to not know what speed they are driving at. When I informed this to the franchise manager- she said "just drive to whatever speed the other vehicles are going". Mhm, good advice!
The franchise manager herself made comments on my deliveries on my first shift being too slow in front of other staff which is not professional at all. If you have to comment on an issue with employee's performance, please do it in private (1 on 1), not in front of the whole store crew making the new guy look bad.
I worked a bit overtime in my first 3 shifts to which I was not paid for, I have waited 4 months for my payment to arrive but at this point I have given up and decided I will not be paid. Moving on.
The food is great but I would not recommend employment at this branch. Jaxon (store manager) will take good care of you however the people around him and above him will make your employment here a nightmare.
This is our closest Red Rooster wish they offered home delivery across the river. Always fresh and friendly service.
Now newly renovated.
It's descent fast food, centered around roast chicken. The seating area is basic, and the toilets are clean. There is limited parking on site. Typical meals around $10.
