Red Lion Hotel

Just ok, meals were on the expensive side and not much to it. I had a calamari salad, which had very small amount of calamari and salad was basically lettuce only, few tomatoes. I like a decent salad not just lettuce leaves. Service was lovely, playground good for a warm day.

WOW! My husband and i couldn't believe the quality of the steak and the amount of garlic butter was perfect! Vegies were cooked to perfection! Highly recommend! OMG! I went home and could of had a nap i was that full! Will be back!

I stay here every time I work in Ballarat - best hotel and fantastic food would highly recommend the Lion to any and all - great staff - great place

Can't go passed the meals and drinks at the Red Lion. Always a 'go to' for a great meal and drinks with family and friends.

Great food with plenty of seating in the bistro/restaurant. Pricing would be on par with similar establishments

We love The Red Lion they have a great range of gluten free meals and 3 members of my family have to eat gluten free. There is 2 things that i find difficult we take children and have to walk through the pub it would be good if there was an entrance into the restaurant. Sometimes the meals take along time to come out although they are usually busy when we are there.

Not a bad place, security was kicking people out for no real reason other than what appeared to be personal

We visited today for the first time. The venue was clean, the playground is undercover and the staff very friendly.
All of our meals came out within a reasonable time and were delicious.

On street parking isn’t fantastic. Unfortunately the road narrows and becomes windy at that point. I'm a cyclist and motorist, when I'm on the bike I'm worried about being hit & when I'm in the car I'm worried about hitting someone. It's just a difficult bit of road to deal with outside what is otherwise a great venue

Came here for Melbourne cup, food wasn't great and staff were very rude.my aunt had asked for a straw for my seven year old brother and it was quite clear the bartender was incredibly annoyed and she showed it, rolling her eyes and saying something like 'if you have to', then also had the nerve to talk about my aunt to another bartender when my aunt was standing right there. (we heard it all) they also got annoyed when we asked to shift the tables around since we were a fairly large family who wanted to sit on one big table, plus we had hired a function room.was better in the past years.

Will recommend for functions and the staff were happy to assist. There is a good choice of platters for catering and outdoor area was just right for the occasion.

Couldn't fault the service but the meals not so good. I had Thai beef noodles. I counted 7 small pieces of beef. Disappointing.

Meals were nice, and came out fast. Prices are incredibly reasonable aswell. I've been going here for years, and will continue to go here for years to come.

Think we went on an unfortunate night. Staff were under the pump. We waited more than an hour for our meals and when they came mine was disappointing but the others for our table looked ok. To be fair the manager apologised for the delay and gave us a drinks voucher for our next visit. Would give it another chance.

Food was pretty good. Can't go wrong with some chilli chicken spaghetti. Only downside was Josh didn't come and see me smh

Nice range of pub classics with limited but comfortable seating. The fish and chips was reasonably good.

Great place! Even when the waitress caught me with my pop top she was polite and gave me back my pop top when i left! Excellent service!

Visited for my first time on friday night and I will definately be back. Drinks are reasonably priced as is the food. And the sticky duck legs are amazing.

The meals we had were cold and poorly cooked. We were told it was an unusually busy night but no excuse. Would not dine here again!
