The food at this Carlton café is so tasty, that the first few mouthfuls are often accompanied by my partner and I discussing how perfect the flavours and textures are (I say discussing, but it's more like we close our eyes and groan "soooo good"). Favourites are the smashed avocado, the spicy beans with toast, and the lentil soup.
The owners, Trina and Damien, are lovely - we've noticed that they go out of their way for all their customers, as well as quickly learning what our own preferences were. There are nice little touches in the space too.like the bonsai plum tree for example.
Smashed avo was so-so and not worth 20$ The toast was so thick it didn't toast in the middle.
I found it kinda rude that one of the staff (I think he was a manager?) grabbed my bag to take the chair for another table before I could even look up to respond to him.
Great local! Indian scrambled eggs were the highlight - perfectly balanced with a chutney and yoghurt. Friendly service and good coffee.
Gun barista, great coffee and excellent food. Interesting and original menu, prices are very reasonable, generous servings. I had the spicy baked beans and LOVED it. Lovely atmosphere with lots of space and light. Service is very friendly and attentive, highly recommend!
