Rathdowne & Reeves Cafe

I had a great time at this café! The staff were very pleasant, and their Chai Latte is one of the best I've tasted! I had some fried eggs on a toasted English Muffin, with sides of bacon and sauteed mushrooms. It was incredible, so delicious! I'd definitely recommend this amazing café!

Amazing service. The open steak sandwich is a must try.
First time having a mocha with Nutella in it and it's the bomb.
The ladies that work here are pretty too.

Damian is a wizard in creating amazing flavoursome food. My favourite dish is the Risotto with Prawns, saffron and snow peas.
Trina plays great music, she always remembers my name and there is always laughter and joy in this cafe! A must try cafe in Carlton, you will be coming back time and time again.

The food is heavenly, the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff are top notch! It feels like outside in the building! They've got great chef's specials to keep things interesting as well. And the coffee, leave the best for last. Well rounded and rich with just the right acidity levels. The presentation of everything really puts the cherry on top. Highly recommend!

I come here all the time and the staff are very friendly, I think the owner who always here wear a dress is very nice and very caring.
And the food is amazing

Rathdowne and Reeves cafe is located in an extremely convenient spot in Carlton right next to the Rathdowne Place Aged Care facility. The cafe is owned and operated by the friendliest of owners, Damian and Trina. Along with their polite staff, they both spend a lot of time in not just serving patrons, but in also getting to know everyone personally. This adds a meaningful touch for everyone who visits their cafe. The food and coffee are exceptional, and as a vegetarian myself, they have a wide variety of options to choose from on their menu. The ingredients are organic and everything is prepared daily and fresh. If you are wanting a wholesome dining and social experience, this is the place to go to! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Like Faulty Towers on steroids! Have never experienced anything like it. The owners were quarreling and took it out on the customers. Bizarre

I ordered the Soy Latte in this coffee shop.

The lady with long hair dark skin color made coffee for me but it was absolutely look ugly and I can tell she was even pay attention to making the coffee to look much presentable and I couldn’t even bother to take a photo.

There’s old couple sitting right next to me and they ordered the flat white and their coffee looks very appealing and very nice too.

When I pay the bill for the coffee and the lady who serve the same one didn’t even said thank you.

Not sure why she treated people differently but not wish to see this lady again next time!

The best coffee shop in Carlton. Spicy lentil soup is my favourite and the most delicious soup I have come across in a cafe. Highly recommended to family and friends!

This cafe is fantastic and the owner Trina is a lovely lady who's very friendly and helpful. The steak sandwich is my favourite but anything on the menu will give you an experience!

We dine quite often at Rathdown & Reeves Cafe we love Damián's amazing poached eggs and bacon on sourdough, also one of the best prawn and snow pea risotto among other delights with excellent coffee. Well worth a visit.

I have been coming to R&R since 2019 when I first moved to the area. Despite moving interstate, I always make time to return and its easy to see why. If we are rating on food and coffee alone, the place can’t be faulted. Damian (the chef) is an absolute artist and there is no doubting he has exercised the most care and attention to detail in preparing your meal. I have changed my coffee order around over the years so have always kept Trina on her toes, but she has an ability to really connect with and understand her regulars. Overall, the proof of the place’s value is in the really amazing community Trina and Damian have cultivated over six years - from residents in the retirement village to locals to the odd politician. When we had a 5km radius rule during COVID-19 lockdown, Damian and Trina felt like two family members feeding and supporting me (while I supported them with my hard earned moola). Do yourself a favour and come visit.
