Beautiful setting, overlooking a vineyard. Menu is limited, and I thought overpriced for what it was. Food comes out as it's prepared, had to send our cold chips back as the steak took that long to come out.

The service was slow and disorganised. We had to follow up several times about 2 dishes on our set menu (leading to one of the starters arriving immediately before dessert). Communal dining makes absolutely no sense in a restaurant catering mostly to couples, and you are seated cheek to jowl next to your fellow diners.

Food was as expected (good). Staff were friendly but didn't seem to have a good system in place for looking after their patrons.

Most excellent, highly recommend! A family of 4,2 adults did the 79 dollar banquet menu with the marlin loin and 2 children with the cheesburger which was easily one of the best children's we've ever ordered. Very generous and top quality.

Amazing views and excellent wines also

Very friendly staff. Very relaxing vibe. Food was outstanding and original. The view sublime. Ambiance is great except for the acoustics that are terrible if you want to have a conversation, even with the staff.

Great delicious modern food with fantastic wines.
Dropped 1 star as their ala carte menu was a bit all over the place starters came after mains sometimes
Recommend anyone to go the shared plate as I had that last time and was better paced

Despite that everything was great though with a fantastic view.

Waste of time.

Had a booking at 8 and upon arrival was told to wait. Ordered everything together. The kingfish came out within 10 mins. We then proceeded to wait another 55 minutes for the lamb. The medium rare steak that I ordered came out another 20 mins after that. Wasted 1h and 15 mins for a steak.

I waited so long for my main course that the staff ended up cleaning up around us for close.

I wouldn’t say the food was worth the money, and certainly not the wait.

Absolutely phenomenal. It's that good that I'm currently still at the restaurant and writing this review. Just because it's been the best experience of food that I've had in a long time. 10/10.

One of the best services. Thank you Amol, the chef and Alia for the great service. You both made our stay in Jackalope very exclusive. I will always remember you both. Thank you.

Beautiful place to dine in. Starters potato bread, on toasts, cured fish was nice and fast to come. Grilled broccolini was delicious but cold fridge potato was not pleasant to eat (at least room temp?). Didn't expect medium for the steak after we waited so long to come (dry and over cooked). Ordered a glass of pinot noir tasted and smell sour. Left the full glass on the table.

The food was amazing, beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were exceptional. We also had the Rare Hare sparkling which was very nice. Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful experience and delicious food, the scallop ceviche dish with smoked pork broth was tops! Picante salumi (pictured) was a staff recommendation and did not disappoint. A bottle of Shiraz made the day sing!

Food was DELICIOUS! However, the staff were plain rude and inattentive. Recieved better service at a McDonalds drive thru. Everything was such an effort, always had to flag someone down as they avoided eye contact at all costs. The bill was slapped down and we were asked "Guys can we settle this now? " in a very rude manner, no "Hope you enjoyed your meal" or "Sorry to interrupt, we're closing up". We were celebrating an engagement and had been here before and loved it then and so was looking forward to coming back. Ended up being a bit of a sour end to our day.

Great food, lovely wine and attentive service. The room is cosy and convivial with a bucolic view over the vineyard. Always love a visit to Rare Hare.

Not so great. We expected good food to go along with the beautiful scenery; Clearly we overestimated the place. We paid twice as much as we normally would at a restaurant for TV dinners made fancy. Never have I been so disappointed at a serving of duck-fat potatoes, a dish so easy to make. There was a pinch of salt in there at best. I assumed that the beef cheeks were going to at least present a little more flavour, but the menu was missing the part where they *stew the beef in plain water*. It was juicy and tender I have to admit, just lacking the entirety of its essence. Kitchen staff must have accidentally labeled the sugar syrup as “balsamic vinegar”. Paid $5 for a handful of frozen chips and $6 for a diluted coke. Music was terribly loud, and for what reason you where playing techno house at a casual winery will remain a mystery.

Such a great restaurant! Not only does the food taste great, the view of the vines is just so nice and peaceful! We ordered:
- the potato bread (soft and oily)
- the chive waffle (crunchy and smooth)
- tuna tartare (light but weirdly spicy)
- sardine tartine (good but didn’t wow)
- lamb loin (so tender and flavourful)
- tomato stracciatella (fresh and juicy)
- charcoal eggplant (lack of miso taste)
- barramundi wings (good but not that much meat)
- scallop XO (so good despite the small size of the scallops, definitely leave bread to dip in that XO butter!)
- vanilla cheesecake (creamy and light, not too sweet)
- chocolate chip cookie and malt ice cream (sweet, crispy, hot and cold)
All the starred ones were our favourites:) we also ordered the snowball cocktail which I loved! It was sweet and sour just like I love them, and the what’s up doc which was okay but I preferred snowball. Definitely recommend this place!

Rare Hare is a beautiful blended restaurant in every way. The casual dining atmosphere mixed with a first class menu and food that would make you think you're at a fine dining venue. The rabbit hare coat room to the full length windows overlooking the winery all work so well together. Staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive. Food comes out at a good pace and is designed to share, and you'll want to share so you can try more of it as it is all wonderful. Make sure you save room for the wood fired choc chip cookie too! Wine list, drinks and coffee here are great. You can not miss here for a venue to eat great food in a relaxed atmosphere.

The staff were very accomodating when we cancelled an item after realising we’d ordered too much - this allowed us to really enjoy all the dishes we had (which were great, especially the tamarind ribs). The menu was interesting and fun to explore, food can quickly and generous serves (especially the cauliflower). A lovely lunch in a beautiful space.

Trust the chef, go with the Hares Share plates, sit back and prepare to be amazed.and very full.
As a table of six, on a busy summers day, we were met, seated and served brilliantly all meal. The dishes were bought out 'when they are ready', but still well paced, fresh, hot and ALL very very tasty. Normally there is an 'average' dish but not here, light and tasty potato bread, tasty Salumi section and flavorsome Sardines started us off.

The mains / staples just kept on coming. Melt in the mouth lamb shoulder, whole baby snapper, roast cauliflower with a winning Macadamia butter that made your taste buds sing. Broccolini with whipped cod roe and a gorgeous Wood roasted stone fruit that got all our attention.

Despite being full, we all forced our self to try the Sticky date desert, a small square (that's all that was needed) of moist and yummy sticky date, with a whip of butterscotch cream and candied pecans for texture and extra flavour. Drinks were prompt and cold, we really couldn't have asked for more.

One of the best tasting plates ever! Compliments to the whole team, a brilliant experience!

Rocked up for a wine tasting and spur of the moment our group of 3 decided to have lunch there too. I think we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The restaurant had a very casual atmosphere with a great view.

We selected the Rare Share degustation which included 7 share dishes plus a dessert. Whilst the quality and freshness of the ingredients seemed excellent, the taste was greater than the sum of its parts. Every dish had a well balanced mix of flavours, many of which I had not encountered before. When I go to higher end restaurants, I expect new flavours and the Rare Hare exceeded my expectations in this regard. To my surprise, my favourite dishes were the 3 salad/vegetable dishes as these had the most new, different flavours and I thought were the most delicious. Of the 8 dishes served, there was only one that did not delight us immensely, and that dish was still fine.

As far as degustations go, this is right up there as one of the most memorable and I would also say, best value. I am very glad we chose Rare Hare for our lunch.
