Rain Hayne & Shine Farmyard reviews
61Have been going here since my kids were little, now take my grandchildren. Staff & Animals very friendly. Safe environment for kids to run around. Good old fashioned owners, who run this for the love of the children and animals. Not for the money.
Delightful family business. Up close and personal with farm animals. Take lunch and enjoy a picnic. Looking forward to going back over summer.
Wonderful place for all ages. Took our Elderly clients & they all had a magnificent time cuddling the animals. Extremely friendly owners, always working hard, friendly & helpful.
Fun experience for the kiddos, a little run down but still good. Plenty of great restaurants and wineries for the parents to enjoy after at outing for the kids
This place is rustic and charming. All heart with no bells and whistles and lots of clutter. Loads of animal interaction opportunities, plus the family who runs this clearly treats every animal as their pet. It's a good vibe place.
Perfect for young kids and the price is fantastic for what you get. It’s pretty well kept for a small farm with constant maintenance going on from what I saw. All animals were great and they even took us for a tractor ride. Pony was super cheap at $5. There is no eftpos so cash for payment or bank transfer is another easy option. Overall great.
Perfect day out with young kids.
Bring a change of shoes. Maybe even a change of clothes depending on the weather and/or your kids want to play in the mud.
Parking is easy. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended for a day out without screens if you're down the peninsula.
They offer pony rides for $2 too which is a bargain.
Great day very authentic farm my bub really enjoyed the interaction, the staff are excellent its not a polished zoo or tourist type thing but for kids and animals its perfect
I was really happy with the different farm animals
My granddaughter enjoyed the visit but I was upset at the condition and treatment of animals. The place is rundown, dirty, petting area unsupervised, animals' water was dirty and some had none. Rabbits and chicks were seen all over farm outside the enclosures and were bound to be food for local foxes. I won't be going back.
Poor conditions for animals. Goats are overfed and suffering with bloat. Rabbits, guinea pigs are not supervised whilst young children grab, drop and scream around them. Witnessed one rabbit near death. Rabbits and guinea pigs on same diet as goats, sheep and cattle. Sad place to visit and feel animal welfare is not at the forefront of this business.
Engaging for little ones with lots to see and do. A great family run business that is great value for money.
Looked promising, but no one to be found when we got to the entrance (past the lovely animal feeding stations and terrifying scare crows). We waited around, but couldn't find anyone so went to a nearby vineyard instead.
For years I have been coming here - very friendly staff and a beautiful farm with a wide range of great animals.
A great place to visit for kids and families alike. Not a massive place but perfect in size for families with children.
Ample opportunity to feed the animals and the staff are very friendly.
There were petting areas, feeding areas and a space for play and a story time session which the little one loved.
Great spot. Will be back!
A bit of trivia for the railway enthusiasts, the rest area at the back of the property is an old Tait train carriage. Otherwise known as the Red Rattler. Taken out of metropolitan train service by 1984.
Disgusting conditions children were not supervised when playing with animals and were scared of them
Some didnt have water and tiny cages wont be back was heartbreaking
A bit more space cleanliness and supervision to make sure no kids got to full on with them is the least that needs to be done
Great place to take kids, entry is realistic and affordable and you're allowed to get up close and personal with animals! You don't need to buy food either as there is tons of buckets laying around that you can hand feed!
Witnessed driver texting while driving on Kings Way, Melbourne.while towing a horse float.
Alternatives: The Big Goose, Moorooduc.
Lovely farm with a good variety of animals. Lots of things for kids to do. Great place to bring lunch.
Not very well maintained. The only highlight for us is the feeding of the baby goats. Vegetables are left in big buckets for u to pick and feed them. The petting area is filled with houseflies.
Family had great fun. Farm is looking a little tired and run down but don't let that deter you from going in. Loved the donkey, goats, peacocks, pony rides, baby animals, everything!
