Rain Hayne & Shine Farmyard reviews
61 Visited with my partner, 3.5yr old and a 15mo old. Everyone absolutely loved it. There was lots of veg cut offs to feed ge animals and you're able to walk into the paddocks to interact with animals.
It's old, run down and has a lot of charm! There's lot lots of people mentioning that it needs an upgrade and that the play equipment is so old, but honestly, that's exactly what gives it character. Would highly recommend a visit. PS if you have a Small Ideas membership, you get 50% off entry fees!
We had my daughter's 6th birthday party here - she had such a perfect day, very relaxing but at the same time so many things to do. The party/ tram room was perfect for our small group and the kids had a wonderful time patting and feeding the animals. Thanks so much Rain Hayne & Shine!
Loved the way the children were able to interact with the baby animals. Staff very helpful, kind and patient.
Like one of the reviews on here.this is also one of the best farm experiences we’ve had! Sue (I think she may be the owner/manager) takes such great care of all the animals and gets all the kids engaged and having fun, like feeding the baby goats and riding the ponies After a lovely time with the animals, we got to do the hay ride on the tractor, and finished off with a nice picnic!
The animals unfortunately do not look well looked after here. Especially the ones in the barn in the enclosures. There’s no one to supervise the petting of the Guinea pigs or rabbits. Price to get in is cheap which is a plus but bring your own food and drinks.
One of the best, if not the best farm experiences around. Extremely reasonably priced, big selection of animals and activities, easy and abundant access. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Perfect day out every time.
Very friendly staff, lots of different animals and plenty of food to give to each animal. Being able to go in the baby animal enclosure was our favourite. A great experience, thank you!
This is the one, the only one where you can actually pet animals. Amazing farm with many goats and baby cow. Petting and feeding was so much fun for my 2yr old and she loved it. Will be going there again.
We love Rain Hayne & Shine. Love the animals that the kids can see before we even pay. Love that there are animals that can be picked up.the bunnies in particular. Tractor rides and pony rides are fun too.
We were looking for a family outing last minute for our Sunday afternoon, this popped up as a recommendation so thought we’d give it a go! What a great visit it was. Pony rides for our three year old, alpacas, goats, rabbits, birds. So many beautiful animals.they even had dingos! The gentleman riding the tractor was incredible and evening started singing old McDonald had a farm for the kids. Just a really well run family farm and we are so lucky they open it up for the public! Thanks guys for a fabulous day ️
Made me really sad. Some of the animals are in terrible health, living in filthy conditions. Two staff members working on the day, definitely not enough to manage such a large farm. The entire place is horribly dirty and some of the animals do not look happy or cared for. Really distressing to see. Water troughs empty on a hot day.
We absolutely love this farm not to far from Melbourne for a day trip. The farm is clean and animals look happy unlike others we have visited in the past. Kids had the best day
My 2yo loved all the animals. Fantastic that they can enter paddocks with animals and have the space to roam around with them without being under other people's feet. Enjoyable outing.
There are some vehicle toys, trikes etc for children to use however most are broken or cannot be used effectively as the large rock pathways prevent the wheels from working. The digger toys and trucks in sandpit were good fun.
Absolute disgrace. The place is a dump, poorly managed, the animals are filthy, the land and sheds are poorly kept, the staff are disinterested and do not take pride in the upkeep, customer service or welfare of the animals. I do not recommend.
Lovely staff and we go every week. A nice place to take the kids for a relaxed atmosphere, they do free tractor rides and have a petting enclosure. Its a wonderful rustic farmyard for a nice family day out
Had a wonderful day here today, our 2 year old had a fantastic time and was able to participate in everything available. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back again!
A good and cheap experience with kids or if you love animals. The place could use better maintenance though
Great venue for toddlers and little people to have interaction with farm animals. I'm guessing older kids might be after more stimulation than the animals. Our little guy loves it.
Went here with my toddler and he absolutely loved it! The animals are very accessible, so many to pat and feed. The animals are happy, the staff so friendly. It's a great family activity
Well priced, perfect day out for young kids. Very interactive with the animals, not too big, not too small, just right. Lovely day.
