Railway Hotel

Booked here for my birthday, really disappointed in the main dining area, service was appalling. After being handed menus it took the waitress a really long time to come and ask if we wanted a drink. By the time she came we were ready to order not only drinks but our meals as well, one of which she got wrong and had to take back. A simple dessert was ordered as well as an affogato. After waiting for over half an hour for these we were told they are coming but it’s still a bit of a wait, so we cancelled these. Mind you my husband had to get up and get the dessert menu himself as there was no one around. I would have liked another wine but again there was no one around. We have dined here on numerous occasions in the past, this was by far the worst experience. You need more staff and the staff definitely need way more training as this is not acceptable.

Decent place good food service was decent as well. Very limited menu.can include more dishes in the menu.

I did not dislike it, but it is a pub for trendy people, the staff were a great improvement on the last time I was there

We had our Christmas party here. I liked the place and location, staff was polite.
We arrived relatively early at 15: 00, food would come initially a bit slow, probably it was assumed that most people would arrive only later.
However, throughout the afternoon/early evening the "flow" of food worked better and tasty options were served. All in all, I was pleased with the service, quality of food, the beer options, the location and the staff.

Good place for a casual meal before our movie. Service was fast & we all enjoy our meals. Vax certs were checked & plenty of sanitiser available.

Good aura, but not the best chicken parma, don't order parma. Good steak but. Only issue is you can't get steak at roof top. No idea why

Great function spaces and amazing service. Susie was very helpful to guide us. Even though we ended up cancelling the event due to COVID restrictions we will certainly be back next year and in the future.

Fantastic upstairs function room. Had a party which was fabulous! Susie and the staff were brilliant and made it seamless from start to end. Food was beautiful and bar staff were second to none on the night. Thanks to the team for making it a memorable night.

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday at the Railway Hotel in Yarraville and it was absolutely perfect! A classy and elegant venue that provides the most exceptional food and service. All my guests were so impressed by the selection of food and drinks and could not stop talking about it for weeks! I would like to thank Susie and her team for creating the most magical night for me. Definitely recommend this venue for any special occasion!

We went here for the first time for lunch on Monday and we will most certainly be coming back. Great food and great service plus kid friendly too.

Another beautifully prepared gluten free meal for this Coeliac. Paella for main and affagoto for desert. Service perfect. Never disappoints. Thank you.

Nice friendly place. Lovely to be welcomed in by the young lady behind the bar, cheerful and happy. Nice ambience in the room, bowl of chips was fresh and delish. Drinks cold but the service was warm.

All very tasty! The prosciutto wrapped veg are delicious. Sharing plates and an express lunch menu are great options for something lighter. Not the cheapest pub grub but worth it.

Came here yesterday after many months of lock down, we sat on the rooftop. Many of our cocktails came with brown lime that was off, so they tasted terrible, the ones we had without lime were nothing special. Service wasn't great. Food was really average. Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, we only really enjoyed 1. We left a lot of food because it just wasn't nice. Pretty disappointed, considering this used to be one of my favourite venues in Yarraville. Wouldn't recommend you eat here when there are so many great restaurants in the area.

We popped in for a couple of drinks last night after dinner elsewhere. The hospitality was fantastic, our waitress was fantastic and very attentive. Will deffinately be back

Food is okay but not great. The kitchen makes anything conventional one expects at a typical Aussie bar. The main draw is their happy hours and the good range of alcohol specially if you sit upstairs. Downstairs can be a bit drab.

Top joint for a bite to eat and drink. I was suffering a mega hangover upon venturing into this venue, but as we all know, the best cure for a hangover is the hair of the dog. The guys working here when I ventured in delivered all round with bells on. Stumbled in and stumbled out a few hours later after a good feed and multiple brews. Good little rooftop terrace up top, air-con down below. All-in-all no complaints. I will be back nek time I’m in the hood.
