Prahran Market reviews
81Excellent fresh food markets. Without a doubt some of the best produce Melbourne has to offer. I particularly like the selection of mushrooms from the grocer across from Market Lane Coffee, an insane variety almost all year round!
Relaxed atmosphere and not over crowded. Lots of fresh produce to choose from. Great selection of cheeses, dips, cakes, pasta, breads and bulk nuts and dried fruit. Outstanding quality fresh flowers to choose from. Plenty of places to relax and enjoy a coffee or lunch.
Great quality seafood, vegetables and meat. PRAHRAN Market is the best! My week would not be complete without this amazing place.
Enjoy this market.plenty to choose from and definitely fresh fruit and vegetables.will go again if in area but will make it a weekly Place whenever the times are near.
Peaceful market, the proportion of local products is higher than other markets that we visited. Really fresh meat, fruits and flowers!
The building is very beautiful.the parking space outside is acceptable.the market is small than expected.if you like oyster, you may stop there.
Prahran Markets
Pros:
An array of fruit, vegetables, dried nuts, cheeses and baked goods. Prahran markets has something to suit everyone.
Don’t forget to get your flowers from the florist located in the centre
Of the markets. Plants are fresh, lush and last for a long time.
Prices vary per vendor, however each vendor offers something different.
Fantastic location, near a lot of restaurants & cafes. I life doing my shopping then having breakfast in the outside
There is plenty of free parking.
Cons:
Can be a bit pricey compared to some other market, however worth the quality of products you are getting
Tips:
I love the bargains you can score on Sunday’s 1 hours before closing times. You can save a lot of $$ buy going then.
Huge range of quality produce and deli style foods to choose from, from nonnas delicious lasagne, specialty gnocchi, cheese, premium cut meats, fresh baked breads or even a Japanese pop up stand its all here. Not to mention $15 Veggie box. Value!
Great Organic grocers inside the market that have unbelievable produce. Best to go on the weekend for variety
Best market in Melbs. Not so crowded, good selection of foods but not overwhelming. Cafes and bakery in the yard make it perfect spot for a Synday brunch too:)
You can find everything you need in a conventional market here - fresh fruit, veggies, seafood, a selection of butchers for poultry & meat, including venison and game meat.
The stand out for us is the range of exotic products you're less likely to find elsewhere. Do you want some lychees in the off season, gozleme, freshly cooked muscles, Korean bulgogi, raw rooftop honeycomb, or organic fruit marmalade? Prahran Market is your destination.
Must try the cheese from Maker & Monger. Strongly recommended. Go early as some of the shops were closed when we were there at 2pm.
Quality shops with quality goods. Generally friendly staff. Quite spendy but enjoyable experience.
This is one of cleanest market i ever seen.with vintage building, a lot kind of fruit, such a beautiful place.the front face of this market has interesting design. Vintage design.nice photo spot. If you want to there.you can go by the bus or with tram. But dont forget to recharge your myki
People in two grocery shops are very rude. They just seating at the counter and don't want to interact with customers or just acting quite rude. Secondly, it's a big problem to buy anything, as min Efpos amount is $10, $15 or $20. This is reducuilos considering that most people are using cards in the 21st century. Just don't open business if you don't like people paying by card. It doesn't have to be a problem of consumers. It's something wrong the business owners.
It's always fun to go to this place and enjoy large variety of kitchen needs.
I'm most thrilled to find very fresh and tasty oysters at
a very affordable price.
All in all I love and it's certainly my only go to market place.
Like any good market, you'll find everything from many different shops selling fresh fruit and veggies to butchers, fishmongers, bakery, a deli section but also an asian grocer and many cafes.
One of the best markets in Melbourne! One can enjoy nice food and buy a variety of cooking ingredients here.
It's always fun to go this place as it's a joy take a walk around the market and enjoy large variety of fruits, pastry and foods! There are also some good cafes and small restaurants at the middle of the Market which is always lively and full of people enjoying their time here. A shopping hint: go on Sundays to find fruits for $1 and $2 (not so fresh though) Also you can eat as many sausages as you want on Sundays
Wide range of products - some are excellent, while others are average. Hard to rate an entire shopping area in one review. It depends on which store you visit but there's some great stuff here.
