Postmistress Eatery reviews
73We ordered pizzas, arancini balls, and tiramisu in lockdown. All of the food was so delicious and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Very keen to try out more of the menu, hopefully in the restaurant next time as the venue looks great.
Very good food and waitress very switched on.
Reasons for 3 Stars because 1) the sides dish can be improved with it portion 2) May be they are making heaps load of money which the lady Owner/Manager have a cold face and careless for small table.
Sleek Italian eatery, pasta was eldente and flavorsome. Nice atmosphere and very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend.
It's a shame I can't give a score lower than 1. Very arrogant and greedy business. Will never go back again and will advise every person I know not to. It's not good making a quick dollar trying to rip off customers. People talk and people won't come back.
The atmosphere and interior design was beautiful. The food was delicious and the staff and service was excellent. Would recommend.
It’s a nice space in a fairly nice area.
Food and cocktails are good. Although wish the glass was a bit bigger for the cocktails
Got a kingfish ceviche and gnocchi as well as some gin based cocktail which was nice
Atmosphere is good because of the layout and furnishings.
We dined at Postmistress last night, a restaurant that has been on my list for a month or so and it didn’t disappoint. Kind of in a random location amongst nothing but the venue is stylish, the staff personable and friendly and the pizza absolutely delectable.
The cocktail list was extensive and delicious and the potato croquettes with truffle mayonnaise simply delightful. A little inflexible with the seating times as it’s either 6pm or 8pm but really authentic Italian and thoroughly enjoyable. Will try the pasta next time as there will certainly be a next time
Great service. Staff are attentive and know the food well. Potato croquettes with aioli for entree were light and flavoursome. The waitresses allowed us to order 3 (one each) instead of the standard two. The lightly battered baby calamari was unbelievably tender; a bit sty for us and we would probably order a side salad with it next time. The ricotta gnocchi won hands down for all of us. Incredibly light with a hint of fresh basil on the ragu. We shared the tira misu but next time I'm having one all to myself.
Definitely returning.
I had a booking here yesterday evening with a friend of mine. The booking was clearly from 6 pm till 8 pm. This was a special night out for us before Christmas and we wanted to relax and make the most of our two hours and enjoy the food. However, at about 720 we started to be told that we should start wrapping things up as our booking was until 730 and the next booking would be coming in at 7: 30. I mentioned to the waitress that our booking was definitely until 8pm (but have an email confirming this) but she didn’t seem to believe me.she said that she would compromise and allow us to stay until 745. I was appalled. This not pleasant and we actually had to rush to drink our wine. I feel disappointed and short-changed. I have another booking there this week with friends
from interstate and I sincerely hope that the same thing does not occur again. I’m used to dining out in Melbourne and whilst I respect that you have scheduled sitting times at other places where this occurs I have never felt rushed to leave. It’s very poor treatment and customer service.
I would appreciate some feedback on this issue from the Manager before my other booking this week.
The risotto was overprice and way to salty - we couldn't finish eating it. The takeaway tiramasu was served in a paper cup and was like Coles brand quality - again over priced.
The food is divine! The pizzas are as amazing as the beautiful Gina Lollobrigida or Claudia Cardinale! Well packaged in sustainable packaging, one can see it was made with love have ordered many times and will order many times more! Thank you for your amaziness, Postmistress!
The Gnocchi de Ricotta is the best pasta dish I have ever eaten. Amazing Pizzas and really good prices. My go-to restaurant during Covid lockdown!
Excellent pasta - Al dente, quality pasta and the sauces taste fresh and delicious!
We had the Gamberoni and Agnello pasta.
Can't wait to try some more dishes!
Yesterday we ordered via uber eats 4 pizza and pasta. Were advised it will be close to 1 hour was not a problem. Food turned up in 1 hour. Totally cold. 3 pizzas did not have much in toppings. 2 only had Egg plant as topping. Not happy and would not order again.
Our pizzas (postmistress and zip peppe) and gnocchi di patate arrived quickly and were delicious. Great service all around, and the background music wasn't too loud.
Fantastic pizza; deliciously chewy base with perfectly combined toppings. The desserts are equally delicious and they have a range of Italian beverages to accompany anything.
Always #popular Italian with #woodfire #pizza, antipasti and pasta. Solid selection of drinks. Make sure you book beforehand otherwise bit of a wait.
Fantastic food. My new fav intalian restaurant. But tell your staff to ask the table if they want drinks, yeh? ! We didn't get asked once.
Quick service, Pizzas are tasty and thin. Tiramisu was very good. Family friendly or somewhere casual to go.
High quality eatery. Excellent Italian food served by knowledgeable staff. Moderately expensive for a suburban restaurant, but well worth it
