Postmistress Eatery

Postmistress has become our regular Christmas catch-up place with good friends. It's a perfect combo for our families; well priced, quality food with great service and a comfortable atmosphere. It's been extremely consistent over the years. I love that they often have Italian wait staff and I've never seen it not looking busy.

Popped in for lunch on Friday 15/12 with a friend. We shared a pizza and pasta. The pizza was delicious and one of the best I’ve ever eaten. The pasta was a bit disappointing. 5 stars for the pizza.

Food and service was good although I didn't appreciate that they slice the prawns in half to make it seem like there were more prawns on the pizza.
Lovely Italian waiter took our orders efficiently.
Our table was in what seemed like a glass cubicle which was a bit strange.

Staff and ambiance are fantastic and the food is exceptional. We’ve been here 4 times and they are very consistent with their high standards

Mate! Came here for valentines with my partner. Even though they were packed the service was perfect. The food was excellent, we were excited and couldn’t stop talking about everything we got. Cocktails were, honestly, coming from a cocktail bar tender, best in town. Don’t tell my boss!:) special thanks to the waitress who went out of her way to take our photo <3

Really good food and great service. Everyone there has a positive vibe and the place was family friendly. The margerita you see in the pics was a kids size pizza!

Ok so I’ve been there twice. And the two times the food was lovely. However I won’t give it a 5 stars because of the service.
Lidia B. Is absolutely amazing! She’s always smiling and trying to give you the best experience ever. I love her for that. You can tell she knows what she’s doing and loves it. But the short older bald guy is terrible! He needs to go back to hospitality school. He was very rude and obnoxious. My friends and I almost walked out because of his awful attitude. He ignored us and pretended it was okay. On the first night there was a long haired hippie guy who didn’t know what he was doing. He was nice though but clueless.
To sum up: the food is good but you better get Lidia for the service to get the best experience, otherwise you will be disappointed.

Overall, we had a nice experience celebrating a birthday. One thing I would fault was that the music was a little bit too loud, and because there was a lot of people everyone was kind of yelling over the music. Also, I found the entrees on the expensive side, especially if you need to purchase a few.
Because it’s only a two hour sitting, by the time our food came, it only gave us very little time for dessert and coffees.

Fantastic food, great service and very accommodating for quick order changes! You’ll definitely be seeing me again in the future post mistress.

Delicious, authentic pizza. Honestly stoked to find this place, better pizza then most places around. Very well cooked, no oiliness at all. Box was interesting… but did the job:)

Visited here for a function. Food was nice and overall experience was quite good. Will return at some stage for a regular dining experience.

We had booked the restaurant for our grandmothers 70th birthday dinner, due to being a group of 15 we had to do the set menu of $60 per person which was fine.

To say that $60 dollars per person was a rip off is a complete understatement. The ‘entree’ which was some measly cold meats and cold bread was less than appetizing or appealing.the restaurant is a pizza place, the least they could do is serve some hot focaccia or pizzas with entree.

The mains sizing, again were incredibly small. A few pieces of fish, (which were tasty) and some extremely over cooked chewy charcoal meat sitting on wet bed rocket, with a few less than appealing sides was hardly worth a $60 per head or the 45 minute wait between course.

I’d finally like to mention the incredibly rude and unhelpful manager. One of the staff members brought out our grandmothers cake, which we weren’t ready for, the table hadn’t been cleared from our mains (which had been sitting there for at least 20 minutes), the cake came out with no candles or sparklers (which we had supplied and given to the staff upon arrival to ensure it was done) and when we raised with the manager why the cake was brought over and just dumped on the table like that, the manager replied with “ Is that not good enough for you” and “We let you take photos and do speeches with the cake, what more do you want”. Let us?

It confused us, as all other surrounding birthdays were being brought out their cakes with candles lit and ready to go.

The whole experience was extremely disappointing and quite shocking. We have been to the restaurant multiple times before and never experienced service or treatment like this from your staff. We live locally and have been making an effort to support small, family run businesses but it’s a shame that a family run business have rude and unhelpful managers on the floor.

Unfortunately we won’t be able to recommend this restaurant to our friends and family who live locally.

Brilliant setting and atmosphere, their decor was spot on and very clean, amazing food and reasonable portions and prices! A special thanks to our waiter Taigh for his service and making our first visit a good one will definitely be returning in the near future

It was a lovely over all experience with delicious food and gorgeous ambience.
We were looking forward to ordering dessert and the waitress just placed the bill in front of us asking us to leave without any notification while we were ordering mains about the time limit. It definitely left us in a sour mood as we generously ordered to celebrate a friends treat.
The beetroot pasta lacked flavour as well

Large servings. Stunning crockery. Request one of the large round tables if you are a group of 5 or more. Have a cocktail.
