Postmistress Eatery

Food was exceptional and faultless as always, big let down tonight was waiting time - considering there's a 2 hour seating time. We watched meal after meal go out the door for pick-ups but our meals took forever to come to the table. Our mains took over 40 minutes after entrees. When desserts were delivered to the table, the waiter handed us the bill and told us we had gone over our seating time and we could stay to eat our desserts but had to leave immediately as the table was required for the next seating. This was all through no fault of our own. Not sure if I will dine here again.

The gnocchi here is legit the best gnocchi I've ever had. I can't even describe it

One star is being generous. 1 and a half hours wait for delivery on a Tuesday night, and this is what shows up. Never again for uber eats or postmistress unfortunately.

Yet again Postmisstress you’ve out done yourself! Delicious, delicious, delicious! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but didn’t stop us from devouring everything on our plates! So good! Be back soon

I have been to Postmistress several times and have never been disappointed, until today.
Firstly, Eton Mess, my favorite dessert-off the menu. No big deal. Second, my husband received the wrong meal so I had to eat alone while the the kitchen took 20 minutes to prepare the right one. My beetroot tagliatelle which i'd never tried before, was a tasteless overcooked mess sitting in a bland broth and the pasta had the texture of flat rice noodle. Not even the pound of parmesan I sprinkled over it helped. 3 stars for pizza entree, lemon custard dessert and pleasant waitress, but I think Covid has claimed another business. Totally bummed because this is my local for a dinner out.

Really nice food, authentic and fresh. Would highly recommend the garlic and cheese focaccia to start!

Food was on point even takeaway couldn't have been better pack and flavour was remarkable. Can’t wait to dine in post lockdown.

Sadly pizza arrived stone cold. Maybe a delivery issue but not acceptable when live less than 10 mins away.

So lucky to live just around the corner from these guys.their pizzas are some of Melbourne's best!

It's been a while since I last went there yes I would go back again good food and service

This place was fantastic. From the food, to drinks to location to ambience to service was great. We had various starters, king fish ceviche, calamari, baked ricotta, meatballs, potato croquettes, all amazing.
Mains were a couple of different pizzas and everyone in our group (6) loved them. It was very busy a tad chaotic, but food and service was fantastic.
Our only gripe is the closing time. Bar closed around 10pm. This place would be flawless if not for the closing time.

It's often difficult to get a booking here, but that's just a sign of how good it is. Top quality food and delicious cocktails! Friendly staff too.

Pizza was good but we didn’t think the spaghetti was amazing. We booked an event there and the two server that help us most of the time were amazing. However with earlier booking and 17 ppl it was quite crazy to put us in the middle as we keep trying to not talk too loud, or move around too much as we keep getting into ppls way and chairs. We requested the chef table corner even if it means to keep us separate. May come back to try other stuff but will not host or organize any event there for sure

Decor is beaitful, food was absolutely terrible. Heard a good recommendation from a friend that the food was really nice there, ordered the truffle pizza as im a big fan of truffle and it was beyond disappointing. Pasta we ordered had no flavour. Even the lemon lime and betters tasted flavourless which I didnt think was possible. Other then the aesthetic of the place being impressive. Food was bland and flavourless, would not recommend. Oh and to top it off, when we asked for pepper.i expected cracked pepper and it came out in paper sachets.lazy effort from a Italian resteraunt

Another enjoyable evening at Postmistress. Good selection of food and wines. Staff are very attentive and friendly atmosphere. Very lively place to spend time with friends and family.

Nice food, but because we had more that 10 people we couldn't order our own food and had to do function prices of $ 50 ahead

Food was good but limited choice. Asked for prawns and anchovies on our capricciosa pizza and they wouldn’t do it! Back to Topolinos next Italian night

I had my 60th birthday at Post Mistress.very impressed.great food. Patrick is a master of food display. The antipasto table was exceptional. Thanks so much for making my birthday special.

WoW what a hidden gem.
This place has some of the best Italian cuisine I have ever eaten. From the entrees, the perfect Woodfire pizzas, delicious pastas and mouth watering deserts we had it all.
The flavours of the evening are still lingering on my pallet.
I will definitely be back with my family and friends.
The customer service was impeccable.
