Pier Farm reviews
77Food is decent but expected to be of that quality given the price, however closing at 9: 30 on a Saturday night and a particularly rude server leaves a bad taste in your mouth, value for money I would go somewhere else.
Way overpriced for the average quality food & plate sizes. Paid $200 for 2 for Entrees, Mains & 2 drinks and left feeling hungry. Couldn’t get out of there quickly enough. Will never return!
Owner was rude to us, told my friends off taking pictures, loudly, could have told us off quietly, or should I say in professional way, anyway, food is lovely, waitress and waiter were good.
Food was lovely. Considering we were a 35 person function, the quality didn't suffer, from entrees to dessert (thank you chefs and cooks). The fish was perfect, the gnocchi was fluffy and tasty, the tiramisu was better than I've had in a long time.
Helen is so warm and welcoming and such a professional.if she owned the place, I'd have every function there, hands down. She's a real asset. Thank you to the waiters and bar staff, also.
But.like has been mentioned so many times before.the owners are simply not customer service people. Prickly, unfriendly, unwelcoming, snobby.every little thing is an inconvenience, they can't talk to you nicely. You just feel uncomfortable and disliked in their presence. You can't work in hospitality if you don't like people. Or if the only guests you can tolerate are a particular 'type'. Sadly, they will alienate too many patrons and too many staff.
A Mediterranean inspired restaurant @pierfarm Offers not only amazing food and drinks but also fantastic views. Located on a pier at Williamstown with a view of the city, this restaurant serves the freshest of fresh seafood besides woodfired pizza, cocktails and desserts.
The whole fish of the day is the star of their menu, which is a must if you love fish, otherwise, definitely go for the Lamb Rack or the Duck. We started off with a glass of Aperol Spritz and a Lemon, Lime and Bitters. Both were equally refreshing to drink.
For Entrees, we had a plate of Lamb Cigars with tzatziki sauce and Hervey Bay Scallops. The cigars were absolutely mouth melting and so perfect in taste whereas the scallops were immensely creamy, soft and flavorful.
We had seafood tortellini with prawns and crab filling pasta in a tomato sauce. The sauce was the key player in this dish that made it incredibly mind blowing and tasty and the tortellini complimented so well with the flavors of the sauce.
The whole baby snapper was cooked to utmost perfection, and was served with a bell pepper sauce and fresh arugula. The flavors of the bell pepper, capers and olives sauce went beautifully with the simple yet delicious taste of the snapper. The freshness of the snapper hits you right from the very first bite.
For desserts, we had their popular Bombe Alaska, that has a filling of a simple yet yummy sponge cake, on a torched meringue. Also we had a creme brulee and the taste of this creme brulee was so balanced with the flavors of the vanilla custard.
So as you can see, anybody is bound to fall in love with this place, where the lovely vibes and the views are also the charms of this place, besides the polite and kind team of staff and their prompt service.
Moreover, this place is perfect for celebration of milestones or birthdays or anniversaries. Why not make a reservation @pierfarm this week to check out their great food and the views they offer?
Excellent service and amazing food. Probably the best marinara I have ever had. Can't wait to go back.
Cannot tell you how dissapointed I was.
A special occasion was ruined. If you have a party of 12 or more people it's a set menue.not from the menue advertised on the page. A choice of steak, fish or chicken.
We asjed for rare steak & told no all steaks are cooked medium. Well they came out well done. Only one oerson had fish & said it was ok. The chicken was ordinary.
The entree antipasto plate looked like a five year old had thrown it on the plate.the cost of these 2 courses was $74. I could go on abd on but will fissh by saying don't bother. Much better places in Williamstown
Great service and excellent food we had one little problem with drinks and was sorted out straight away with no problems.
Thanks for a nice night.
Fine dining but the staff there don’t listen. Had to wait 20 minutes before a waiter would bring the water.
I recently attended Pier Farm in Williamstown. I expected it to be a great restaurant, however i was extremely disappointed with everything as the night progressed and by the end of the night.
We were celebrating a Birthday which in my opinion should treated as a very special occasion by the restaurant as we are giving them our business especially group business being a Birthday.
I politely asked staff if they can possibly do something special for our Birthday guest whether it would be some complimentary champagne or even complimentary desserts at the end. I was told by staff "we dont do that" and was shut down. I was shocked and appalled as most restaurants ive been to have honored this request.
We ordered Entrees to start then Mains, Entrees were the Diavola Pizza and Calamari Fritti. The Diavola Pizza was barely even spicey as it stated it was hot on the menu which was disappointing. The Calamari were very tiny and just appeared cheap compared to other restaurants where the Calamari are much larger in size and much larger in portions, we were let down by this aswell.
Then Mains came out, i ordered the 4 point Lamb Rack expecting it to be generous in portion and tasty, boy was i very wrong. The Lamb Rack portion was not generous at all, the crushed potatoes were tasteless and boring and the Lamb itself was dry and barely had any taste. For $46.00 which was ridiculous, I've personlly had better tasting Lamb at my local kebab shop.
We didnt bother with desserts after our Mains and by the end of the night Pier Farm just appeared as a very overpriced restaurant with poor customer service and poor quality of food.
Never coming back here again and none of my family or friends will be aswell, once i tell them how disappointing this restaurant actually was.
Made a lunch booking for 11 adults & 1 child on Sunday 27/6/2021. Extremely disappointing. Was advise that if booking for 12 or more would have to have a 'set menu'? 2 menus were sent via e mail 2 course $75 or 3 courses $85 pp for the 11 adults upon request was able to order from the Children's menu for the child. Both menu's were the same with the 3 course including sweets. You will not see these on their page but looked ok so accepted. Entree & Mains selection of 3 items. The entree of Calamari was small and almost inedible being rubbery and looked over cooked. The antipasto plate was terrible with a very small amount of sliced meat, a lump of hard cheese & a couple of olives. (I think that was all that was on the plate). Presentation was very bad! The gnocchi was ok I'm told. Now for the Mains. The Fish & Chicken were ok as were the crispy potatoes however, the people ordering the steak were told they could not order to their desired taste ie rare, med, med rare etc as it was all cooked the same way? Which meant well done! This suggested to me that it has been precooked and kept warm in the oven with the red wine jus. We were celebrating twins 70th birthday and was expecting something special so you can understand our disappointment. We ordered drinks, a few coffee'sand some sweets from the main menu which were I believe over priced. And the cost of our lunch for 11 adults and 1 child a costly $1100. Correction 1 person cancelled due to sickness 1 hours prior so price was for 10 adults & 1 child. Will not be going back sorry, not sorry. WARNING DO NOT BOOK FOR 12 OR MORE!
Loved the seafood linguine, baked scallops, apple crumble and pear cake! The view of the glittering water is so stunning, i love how the sunlight comes through the windows.i also really enjoyed the warm sourdough bread with butter as a starter!
I’m so surprised this place only has 3.7 ratings because when I went my experience was lovely!
Firstly the venue is beautiful, very boho and I would 100% recommend for events, it’s stunning.
The food was absolutely gorgeous! It’s very fresh and the quality based on a number of similar venues I’ve been to in Melbourne is amazing with the freshness of the seafood. I mean I’m not a seafood expert by any means, I took my mama who is definitely better at knowing if food tastes how it’s meant to and she absolutely loved it.
Staff were friendly, and I saw them with other customers being very friendly and hospitable also.
Check out my images below! Im a food blogger FYI which is why they so extra!
(Full disclosure - I was invited here on behalf of the restaurant to review via my blog - review is true of experience).
Very disappointed in the food. Waiters are disgusting and don’t listen to u. Very disrespectful and rude staff!
Piece of advice, don't bother. They don't listen when you ask for things - too concerned with making jokes instead. My husband asked for the same drink 3 times! If you order the really expensive steak expect it not to be cooked the way you ask. Our table ordered 2 - requested medium rare - both came out well done. We also brought our own cake, after they took it to plate up, tiny portions came out from a big cake (it was our only dessert). When I requested more cake be cut and come to the table it never arrived. Also when leaving I asked for the remaining cake and unused candles. I was told all the candles were in the box - I thought to check.they were not there. When I requested them they were magically in a drawer! I don't normally leave reviews if they are negative, but this restaurant is on the expensive side and we expected high level service for our special occasion. Disappointing.
Great night views over to Melbourne CBD while enjoying a special ambience and great food. Very friendly service
Great food, attentive and courteous table service. Views over the bay. Subdued background music. Good wine selection. Ample car parking.
Surcharge on use of credit card.
We ordered a dozen oysters kilpatrick as an entree.received 1/2 dozen which was a blessing in disguise as they were so small and so overcooked the bacon was black and crunchy. I feel they are definitely overpriced for what you get and will not be back.
Sacking staff via sms/text msg is disgraceful grow some balls and do it correctly. Will never visit your business
Best coffee of Williamstown. Warm and friendly staff. The interior looks just like a house boat with rudder inside. There is sitting available both internally and in open. Outdoor sitting is heated and gives a pleasant experience having coffee on a cold day.
