Pho Hung Vuong Saigon Restaurant reviews
61 Cash only restaurant, not very happy when I don’t carry cash around.
The pho is pretty good when you compare them to other places around.
However, it is very fast pace and you feel like your experience is being rushed.
That said, would of been 4 star if not for cash issue.
We were greeted very rudely, menus shoved in our faces as we had to wait for a table then asked before we even got a table what our order was. When eventually seated had a rude worker come up and ask "what do you want" before we could even open our mouths he said ill come back and walked off.
Received our food very quickly (sliced beef pho) I found a blue hair in mine which I chose very carefully which waiter/waitress I would tell because there was a very, very rude waiter on. They apologised and asked whether I wanted another.
I found the pho to be quite bland, lacking some flavour.
The chicken and rice we ordered for our daughter was delicious and would recommend that dish.
Clean massive dining restaurant that follows Covid guidelines, love the ambiece. They have the best soups around Footscray although the wait staff is a bit grumpy.
Amazing sliced beef pho, especially when you add chilli oil and fresh chopped chilli peppers in. The soup is fragrant with coriander. Loved the three color (bean & jelly dessert) drink as well, though it has more ice than drink so the flavor gets watered down a bit.
Been to this place since 1995. Was great but now l, would not return again. Ordered take away and this (see photo) is what you get, noodles raw and rotten herbs.
Sometimes you enjoy a food so much, that you try it at many different restaurants. But for some reason you keep coming back to the same restaurant because nobody else does it just that "right"
Well Pho Hung Vuong is that one place I keep coming back to co it just isn't the same anywhere else. Love the place.
Warning though if you come here - they only accept cash which can make it hard when these days when nobody really uses cash anymore.
Delicious pho, nice clean restaurant and good service. The only downside is that you need to bring cash because they don't accept card.
Ordered a small bun Bo hue. Seemed to be smaller portion than other nearby restaurants offering the same dish. Broth was balanced: spicy and not too oily.
You can’t go wrong with Hung Vuong. An institution in the area and a flagship store for quality pho. What would you eat here you ask? Pretty simple, pick any number between 1-25 and you’re sure to land on a beauty. Pho, broken rice, vermicelli, spring rolls, they do it all well. But of course the go to should be the pho if you’re undecided. Service is efficient and each of the staff are like a pit stop crew getting you into seats with little fuss and out satisfied and glad you visited this pocket rocket of a venue.
Excellent food as always, fast.service, so fast until the server accidentaly spill out the hot pho soup while serve it to me, alas my bag and my pants got some soup. Thank God it's not so hot and I can bare it. And the server say sorry. All forgiven and I still love the pho. The best in town.
Food was good. It was super quick to get my food. Only down side is they accept ONLY CASH. Btw they has atm in their shop.
Best Pho in Footscray, and super quick service. And thats saying something, there's a lot of competition round here! No frills restaurant, but their small sliced beef Pho is 12 dollarydoos- can't beat it. And endless free jasmine tea.
This it the best Vietnamese Pho restaurant in Footscary. Their pho soup is so tasty and original, and also come with all sorts of veggies and sauces. Serving is very good and match the price. Their prawn spring rolls are also one of the best. Staff sometimes are very hard to call when this restaurant is super busy. Tables not always clean. Also can be super long queue if in super busy time. This restaurant is quite big, few big tables and lots of small tables. This restaurant is very convenient with public transport, bus and train. Parking can be found nearby too.
Was a bit disappointing that the staff were unnecessarily, abrupt, unfriendly and rude. They didn't seem to even want us there. "What do you want? " my friend was asked by one waiter, and in an impatient manner. This waiter needs some training, or to get out of the service industry altogether.
At one point I wanted some water and there was a waiter standing idly in the aisle about 6 metres away, staring straight down the aisle. I gestured (politely of course) for some service, and he immediately dropped his eyes and gazed down at the floor. What the heck was that about?
At the end of the night we discovered that it's cash only. No cards. Luckily my friend had cash to cover for us but in the Covid era it's nothing short of reckless and irresponsible to be insisting on cash only just so you can avoid paying your due taxes.
I see from the reviews here that others have had no option but to use an in store ATM and pay a $2.50 fee for doing so. I wouldn't have done that. They'd have had to call the Police.
I'd then be calling the ATO and recommend an audit of the business.
On the upside, the food was ok. Nothing special.
Won't be back due to poor attitudes.
Finished our meal went to pay. Cash only. Okay. ATM across the road. ATM across road not working. Okay half a KM or use our ATM. No receipt provided. Large surchage. Nothing to indicate cash only business other than going to pay. Terrible service.
Food has gotten worse over time. Noodles soggy and flavour lacking. Service terrible. STILL CASH ONLY? After covid and everything? C'mon
Hands down the greatest pho I've had in Melbourne, worth the wait in queue.
I had a medium chicken pho (only 13 bucks), which was absolutely amazing. But next time I think a small would do perfectly.
Best Pho in the west! This place never disappoints!
It gets CRAZY busy on weekends so just keep that in mind, but it’s well worth the wait!
Not a beef eater but love their soup with grilled chicken here as well! Staff service needs to improve as it’s not taken seriously anymore
Rice noodle sup chicken breast fillet taste like Ipoh KEOW TEOW sup in Malaysia. Hot soup are super nice. Best serve winter night
