PHO CHU THE reviews
52 It's my second time to have Pho here. I love the noodles and the service when I came here first time (last April).
This time, the waitress with short hair and glasses was so rude to push us to order quickly when we just sat down. She said 'nothing special, just chicken and beef'. She asked us about 'boiled or fresh veggies', then she went away directly cause I took 3 seconds to think about. When she served food to another table, she put the tray on our table and gave the bowls to that table one by one.
We were so shocked, we do not know if the owner knows he or she hired staff like this.
Very nice taste of this vietnamese pho restaurant. They only serve pho in beef or chicken, and taste was really good
Sadly not as good as it once was. Seems like some millenial has tried to renovate and streamline the business. Special pho missing authentic ingredients it used to have, less condiments and the place is run by a bunch of rude young men. Its also more expensive.
Tasty overall. Personally I find their meat slices are better quality than most with less chewy softer texture, but the soup lukewarm and broth flavour mild.
Iced coffee is great.
Very busy all the time. They have three different sizes. Small, medium and large. Combination beef and chicken was $17 for a medium and all prices are around that. Lots of noodles and meat in the dish except no blood.
I eat here once a week with my vietnamese wife. Simply because the noodles are authentic and delicious! The broth, the meats, the viet veggies, spices, sauces all create the perfect comfort pho dish! The food is always fast served, so you can pretty much get in and get out if you have to be somewhere. One of my most favourite go too pho restaurants!
Great Job!

ORDERED:
Phở Bò Đặc Biệt / Rice noodle soup with special beef in Medium size ($16.00)
Chè Ba Màu / Vietnamese Three Colour Dessert ($6.00)
REVIEW:
Decent pho place. Pho Chu The has survived against the intense competition in Footscray, so you know there must be a thin thread of value.
Pho Bo Dac Biet is my favourite. It gives you different variety of beef so you're not just having one type of beef in the bowl. The broth was a little oily and bland when I had it, but my cousin swears that it's usually better (less oily). My cousin is a regular who goes at least once a month.
What's nice is that Pho Chu The offer you the choice to have your beansprouts raw, or to have them slightly boiled so they're a bit softer. Getting it boiled and slightly pliable is definitely the way to go - I find that it gets rid of the harsh peppery taste.
Service was very casual. Served by a young boy, he also forgot our drink order even when he confirmed it twice before walking away. We had to follow up midway through our meal, but that's no big deal.
The Che Ba Mau was a perfect way to finish off my meal. Adds the perfect amount of sweetness to leave me satiated.
Bring cash!
Absolutely stunning. You would have to be CRAZY not to try their chicken pho. Breakfast, lunch or dinner this place is the absolute best. Floral, warm broth and tender meats like a spring afternoon each bowl is a joy. Don't wait, go here!
Pho is cleaner than most other places around. By that I mean less MSG, which dehydrates me overnight.
Menu is limited but the dishes they do are well done in a small and cosy place. Very busy most times, a good sign - the stock is turned over quickly.
Hands down the best pho and we have tried almost all restaurants in footscray, richmond, st albans and sunshine. They also have another shop in richmond. Fast and friendly service. No credit card, but they have pay ID.
Very quick. Drinks a a bit pricey for serving. Very tasty.
You know a good Vietnamese restaurant when it’s full of Vietnamese eating.
Went here as recommended for a friends birthday. The pho was average. Due to unforseen events, they had to close early so we had to meet friends elsewhere.
Really great portion sizes, meat is all tender, and the taste is fab. Not too salty unlike other phon places! Food was hot and fresh.
Pho came to our table piping hot - the portion size was very generous and the vegetables provided were fresh! I personally liked the pickled onion very much:) We got pho dac biet that had a variety of meat, which was great! The price is quite cheap as well ($16 for a medium pho, which was very large for me) so I would definitely come back - what a wonderful place to have pho!
The restaurant was also clean, and the waiting time was not long - took us about 5-10 minutes during lunch time as they had relatively many tables
Do bring some cash, as they only accept cash or payment through PayID
Overall, 10/10 it’s a must visit: D
The broth of the pho taste alright, not amazing as people stated. The chicken is very tender.
A good place to stop by quickly for lunch.
Not a place to relax.
Authentic Vietnamese noodle. One of the best I ever tried! Silky rice noodle, delicious broth and yummy slice beef and beef balls!
There might be queue but they are fast and efficient.
Value for money
Everytime I need a bowl of perfect pho, trust me, here is the one and the only one. Being a loyalty customer for many years and still satisfied me 1000%!
First venue I have been to where there are so many pho options. Also love that it’s available in 3 different sizes. Thought the pho was delicious and definitely hit the spot on a cold day.
Hands down the best pho anywhere in the west. If you’re in Footscray don’t bother with the other pho restaurants. Head straight here, the bowl you’ll be served is like mums home cooked.
Generous with the servings and meats. 9.3/10
It’s a very small store so there could be a line but it moves fast. It’s a get in eat and leave kinda restaurant.
TERRIBLE service attitude. The girl who is served us acting like we get free for that…
Not coming back
