Paysanne reviews
54Very popular with the locals; seniors seem particularly taken with this cafe. Staff are very attentive. Coffee is hot but not up to my high standards. The Danish was I suspect made a day or so earlier. But very hard to get a seat.
For Father's Day we attended, and I cannot speak more highly of our experience. This experience was undoubtedly a five-star. Warm, delightful, prompt service, exquisite food, homemade delights in abundance with the owner's Swiss background evident throughout.
Paysanne is a great little find for us. We often pop in for a coffee and cake when we pass through Woodend. Excellent choice of gluten free food as well as other delights. Coffee was also great. Parking is good. It was busy inside (always a good sign) but plenty of seats outside. Staff were very pleasant. We will return on our next time we visit Woodend for sure.
Always consistent with it's quality of food, friendly relaxing atmosphere, Thierry, Sue and his Team know how to run a Cafe
Always lovely coffee, hot chocolates, food - staff are warm and friendly - great place to run into all your local friends
We dined in and had the sauteed Cauliflower, the mushroom medley risotto and the pasta special of the day. Some of the most delicious food we've ever tasted! The staff were polite, friendly and provided great service! Will definitely be back!
All booked inside we sat outside
with hot water bottles which were supplied.it made the experience even more special!
Great place! Very busy and cosy outside, but no lack of seating. Great outside seats with a view. And good food and coffee!
Stopped in for an early brunch last weekend & loved this cosy French cafe! Delicious food, friendly service & a lovely atmosphere ️
Thought we would give this place a try for breakfast. Stood there to be seated and no one greeted us. Decided to take a menu and go to a table outside to then have a waiter tell us another couple would be sitting there.
Then go back inside to wait to be seated to then have to approach the lady and ask if we can sit at one of the tables inside, to then be told they are all booked out later and we must obviously be there for breakfast.
So after realising they weren't going to even try to organise us a table we decided to leave. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Poor customer service. Cafes are meant to be welcoming and inviting.
Went to a Cafe called Mr in Macedon in stead, where we were greeted right away, excellent waiters, customer service and a lovely breakfast. Go there in stead.
This is by far the best dining experience we have had in a long time. 3 absolutely perfect and delicious breakfasts; exemplary service from staff who clearly were born for the hospitality world. Gorgeous country town setting as a bonus. Has been 5 days and we still haven’t stopped commenting on how great it was. Can you please move to Tasmania?
I had the Coq Au Vin, it was the very best meal I have had eating out, for a long time, so flavoursome and cooked to perfection! Hubby had the Duck, it was so very tender. My son had the Paysanne Breakfast, it was perfect! Hot drinks were great and desserts were delicious. Excellent and friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back again️
Absolutely amazing food, coffee, and hospitality. Must try the Paysanne Benedict; it was to die for!

Had a lovely lunch here today celebrating with a gorgeous organic NZ wine. Service was attentive and timely. Well done.
Just fabulous! What a find - cosy, welcoming, great food and service, with just the right amount of banter - clearly a local institution! Worth making a detour for lunch.
Divine - food was delicious and so many great options for anyone with special dietary requirements. Highly recommend.
Very accommodating, with great food and great staff. Booked ahead and arrived to a friendly greeting and a table ready to go. Staff were great and the menu was large enough to accommodate everyone but not to big that its hard to decide. Drinks and food came out quickly once ordered and tables were cleared once finished. At no point did we feel rushed or that we were not wanted as customers. The signature Paysanne dish was great and a definite recommendation. Kids menu makes it easy to satisfy the younger ones. Family friendly and a great experience for all.
Amazing coffee and food options for all. Great family owned and run cafe. Theirry, Sue and their team are very friendly and hospitable.
This is a charming cafe, I chose it on whim because I’m half belgian and recognised the word “paysanne”. The service was great and the food was absolutely unreal! What would appear to be simple dishes are in fact an intricate balance of flavours and use quality ingredients. Will be coming back for sure!
