Panjali Malaysian And Indian Restaurant reviews
55Good traditional Indian food, decent variety. Pomfret Fish curry available which is uncommon. Food served in banana leaf. The place is bit small and feels cramped. Price is unbeatable!
Modest Joint, Great food, Great staff!
Chicken piratal and Chicken curry made me to remember my Uni days in Malaysia.
Very hospitable and friendly staff! My wife tried Nasi Pattaya after 7 years and was fabulous.
Will definitely go there for more Roti Canai.
Terrible service! We waited for over an hour for food and still didnt receive it.it took them that much time to give us 2 cups of tea and that was due to another table demanding for their tea.though they managed to fill out at least 5 take away covers in that time.
We visited on a weekend, around 2pm. We weren't able to order the dosa or special roti chanai as they were too busy to make those dishes. O-kay.
So we had the banana leaf rice. The fish curry that goes with it is really, really good. So was the acar and rasam. The accompanying veges were good but not special. I hoped they would have fried cauliflower or bitter gourd. The meal is quite filling thanks to the mound of rice and I enjoyed it. But the experience was tempered by the fact that a number of items on the menu wasn't available. Perhaps limiting their menu to a managable number, having specific items on specific days or limiting dosa/roti to mornings on weekends - and announcing such limits online - would make customers happier.
In the future, I'd only visit for banana leaf rice and will get my dosa/roti fix elsewhere.
Good food, great friendly staff. Authentic Malaysian food, great place to visit, enjoyed the flavours, thanks chef Damu.
Food is decent if you can get it, but portions are not consistent. Service is extremely poor. Orders are mixed up and it takes a very long time for them to prepare a single dish. Additionally, though they have an enticing menu, most of the items are usually not available. What's the point of having Nasi Lemak without sambal? No briyani on weekends? No kopi? Are they being shipped from Malaysia or what?
Just take it off the menu if you can't be bothered making it.
Very Poor Management of a business with potential.
Excellent Malaysian Indian food. The roti canai was fresh and accompanied by excellent dhal, chicken curry and fish curry. I loved the spiciness of the nasi lemak sambal that I had to get extra for take away. Overall excellent food for the dishes we had.
One of the best value for money I've been. The food are delicious and the price is reasonable.
If you can't decide whether to have Malay food or Indian food, do give this place a try. If not sure what to order, they've highlighted the menu for you too. The banana leaf special seems to be popular but we tried the nasi lemak goreng (fried coconut rice. Has a nice spicy kick), roti cheese/cendawan/telur (cant go wrong with cheese filling) and masala thosai (a little disappointed because I didn't find it spicy at all).
Staff is very friendly and kind.
Banana leaf meal with fish curry - delicious and reminded me of the meals I had eaten and loved when travelling in South India. Friendly staff and the chef kept on coming out to check that I was enjoying the meal! Really proud that we have wonderful restaurants like this in Sunshine. Will definitely be back!
Had the banana leaf rice with a tasty lamb curry, a roti telur pisang and a beetroot thosai. All very good eating!
Good food but poor service. Food portions are always different. I usually stand around for 15mins before being served. If I order over the phone they say 20-25 mins, I arrive 30 mins later and still need to wait 20more mins.
Also first time I went there I pre ordered over the phone and when arrived they forgot to put my order through.
Very poor management.
Chanced upon this place since our previous reservation fell through. The food was great (authentic Indian Malaysian) and they served it in good time too. But the place is obviously short of staff. It was hard to get their attention and get things going. I hope they can work on that because I would like to go back for the food:)
Authentic Malaysia taste. The teh tarik brings back all the memories. The banana leaf meal is awesome. Love it and highly recommend. Will be back for more.
Despite calling ahead to order, the food took over an hour to be ready. The lady barely spoke English and got the order wrong a couple of times, the wok used to cook the veg fried rice was obviously not cleaned as it was filled with small burnt bits and residue; it tasted like carbon. I can sympathize as it looked like they had a pretty small team and it was relatively busy, but it was still pretty miserable. Avoid at all costs.
This is my review after avoiding this restaurant for a year. As I entered the restaurant the bain marie is light was switch on and shortly later switched off. I requested for the menu and ordered roti canai and teh tarik, the waiter came saying the don't have roti canai, I changed my order to nasi lemak, shortly, after a while she came back saying nasi lemak sold out and roti canai is available. You have more than 30-40 items on the menu, my guess half is not available. Ordered roti canai+ teh tarik to dine in+ 2 sets for takeaway. Roti canai for dine came out after 35 min. I was the only customer waiting to be served for a shop with capacity of 20+ seating. Then I finish my roti canai slightly undercooked. And asked again where is my teh tarik, the waiter replied it will take longer. Malaysian tradition drink must be served before food. In between the waiter was checking the kitchen manned by the owner, I can hear loud and clear that the owner mentioned to the waiter, "I will fire you don't push me"
At the same another family group came and ordered roti canai+ roti telor. After a while my takeaway order roti canai and teh tarik was not served instead the family was served with roti canai. I waited patiently and after almost 1 hours still not getting my teh tarik and I requested to cancel my order then all of sudden the owner came out and prepared the teh tarik. I asked why my order for takeaway is not prepared after 1 hours? The waiter mentioned that they need to serve customer for dine in. I mentioned to her their customer service so pathetic. She replied that 2 staff didn't turn to work today. So I asked then why the shop was open if you are not ready to serve the customer? And willing to compromise service and food quality. I wonder who prepared bain marie items about 10+ items and whether these freshly prepared or leftover from yesterday. Not a good dining experience! Still a bad experience after one year. Given a second chance but still the same old story.
I heard great reviews of this place from my Malaysian friends so about time I tried it. Called in an hour early to do a take away. Came it pick up and had to wait another twenty minutes! And there’s not many people in the restaurant. Mamak mee goreng was spot on and so was the roti canai and the sambar was like what you get back home. The Rojak failed miserably although the sauce was good. Really small portion and the stuff they added in felt so old and hard. Had to throw half of it away. Look at the pictures.
Overall a bit hit and miss. Service is bad unfortunately. 5/10.
Wished they’d up their game as they have al the potential to be. Also the chef keeps arguing with the waitress and not a nice thing to hear if you are in the restaurant. It’s a small place.
Authentic SE Asian food. Roti is fresh, flaky and burn your fingers hot! Will definately be coming back again and again! Dont let the appearence fool you, this place is legit!
Had brealfast and the roti prata was so flaky, hot and crused to the point where I poured the curry on top of it and devoured immediately. Food was so yummy and the staff and team so considerate. Was so hungry and yummy missed to take a picture of it. Lol
Good food.delicious fish curry.
Loved it:). Roti cania was great too nice volume. Setup is bit basic.but food is tasty, authentic, generous serving.value for money. Willl go for there again for sure IA.please keep up the quality of food.
If you want Roti Prata, don't go anywhere else.
We where extremely lucky to find this place, they also have a Banana Leaf special so it's worth dropping in if you are close by.
Teh Tarik also a classic for a Malaysian Restaurant A1.
