Panjali Malaysian And Indian Restaurant reviews
55 The search for a Murtabak in Melbourne May we’ll be over. Although it wasn’t made with minced meat, it was still amazing.
The Maggi Goreng was delicious. Not something easily found in Melbourne too.
The owner was very warm and went to each table to ask how their meal was.
Had the Roti Tisu too which was a nice “dessert”. $40 for the 3 dishes, an absolute steal!
Definitely returning. Must try.
As authentic as it gets for traditional banana leaf rice. True to its form, even the rasam was unbelievably good!
The banana leaf rice, mee goreng ayam, roti tisu and teh tarik were delicious! The flavours were spot on and the staff were very friendly. Appreciated the recommendation to try their fish curry - turned out to be my favourite! We will be coming back very soon to try the other dishes.
Food is tasty, just like home cooked. For those who like their rice and curry to be spicy and yet tasty, Panjali is the place for you. Many others offer food that is very spicy but lacks taste, where the chilli just kills everything but not here. Food takes time to get to your table because they don't rush things. The Banana Leaf Rice is good value too.
Way too expensive paid $29 for rice and 3 vegetable curries and and 2 tiny pieces of meet.
Great South Indian thali! Highly recommend for an taste experience. I would give 4.5 out of 5
Traditional Indian-Malaysian food, the food is very authentic and great portions. Will definitely come back
Service hasn't improved for the past years. For food that's mediocre yet overpriced, you'd hope that the customer service compensates with the usual Malaysian warmth. But no. Oh well.
Went there on Saturday morning for medu vadai, roti canai and nasi lemak. Nasi lemak a pass, roti canai prepared with old dough which has some sour taste, dhal is not fresh, vadai is leftover from day before not freshly prepared and not the right mixture of ural dhall. On Saturday I would except the food to be prepared fresh not to be served leftovers yesterday. Please improve and stop serve stale food to your customer. Really disappointed for what we paid and served.
Please don go to this place ever will charge u like crazy, had a takeaway which is plain rice with goat gravy, fried fish n a potato charged me 35 dollar man thats alot, i asked the lady said fried fish is 9 dollar a slice so u do the math
Hands down the best fish curry you will find in Melbourne- perfect sourness from the tamarind which is balanced perfectly with their masala blend. Dry lamb was perfect and so was everything else. They had their Indian rojak as 'todays special- it will rival any mamak stall in Singapore or Malaysia.
Amazing banana leaf Virundhu (Treat) for all Veg & Non Veg lovers, will definitely coming back ️
Delicious food, we thoroughly enjoyed the banana leaf thali and fish fry! Tasted like home, thank you Aunty!
Came here on the recommendation of a friend. The roti canai was fresh and fluffy and flaky, and really really nice. The.curry? That's provided with the roti is quite thin, but I found it the perfect accompaniment, good for dipping, scooping, and soaking. Quite cheap as well, although if you're hungry, be prepared to order a few things or a more substantial menu option. Service was quite fast when I was there and the workers were very friendly. Will definitely come back to try some other things from the menu.
I Ordered the banana leaf rice. Banana leaf came with basmati rice, sambar, rasam, karakulambu, 3 veggies, papadam, yogurt, pickles, and if you eat at shop we could ask for refills of rice as well.
Price only 13.90$
Takeaway 14.90$
overall it was delicious.
I bought biryani as well biryani was okay. We topped with additional fishcurry & lamb? Varuval. It was Really yum sambal also good.

Highly recommend!
Will come back for their banana leaf and a special shout out to Julie and the owner Damanyanthi; who took care of us.
$19.90 for a meat curry with two vegetables. Very expensive compared to other equivalent places. Flavours were ok but nothing exceptional. Also tried their nasi lemak which was not very special. Banana leaf rice was ok.
Me and my team visited the restaurant for our team dinner. We had a amazing time. Delicious food and friendly staff.
Butter chicken was awesome. And the roti is so nice.
Make sure you order your food way way ahead of time as service is very tardy. Ordered 1.5hours ahead of time but had to wait another 30mins before getting food. Ended up getting our order very wrong, missing dishes - make sure you double check before you leave. Food is ok, worth a try if you are willing to wait and willing to accept poor service
One of the most authentic malaysian restaurants in Melbourne. Amazing Roti made fresh and outstanding curries
