Palace Balwyn Cinema reviews
64What a quirky and interesting place. Saw a great movie. Had a delicious connoisseur choc top. You can even have a glass of wine while you watch.
A large cinema complex. Seat numbers seem to be on the rear of seats, but in the pre-movie gloom they can be almost impossible to read. I'm glad it wasn't necessary to stake my claim while the ads, or movie were screening. (There's even a difference between what's indicated on the sides of aisle seats and the nearby step signs - well, in Cinema 5 there is, anyway.) Luckily, I was first in, so had plenty of time to work things out.
Beautiful period cinema with its own cafe which is rare. Another gem in the Palace line up. It would be 5 stars but their queuing system is quite demented - you want to grab a snack mid-movie? Join the ticket queue. Should take a leaf out of Brighton Bay's book.
I have been here for years. Wow what a brilliant renovation. The cinema No 5 its self, was large, clean and warm.
The French movie festival showing at the cinema, is a great place to see such films
Great cinema, movies and ambience. Good coffee and snacks. Temperature was so cold we had to leave. We asked for it to be adjusted but it didn't happen. Theatre 4.
Really great little cinema. Full of character and charm.
Come here early to enjoy a cheeseboard and wine before the movie, and you may as well grab another drink from the bar to take into the flick.
Movies are very affordable if you're a member, and the signup cost becomes worth it after 2 or 3 tickets.
I'll certainly be back here, since it's so easy on the tram.
We love this cinema. It has the feel of an old-style movie theatre and has great prices for movies that are showing in bigger places for more
Fabulous place brings us back to our teen years. Prices are reasonable and seats comfortable. Nice coffee
Not very help. I wanted to watch a movie that seemed to be only screening there. I asked if I could make a booking or not they said yes one minute and they told me I needed a credit card number. I asked how booked out was a movie and they said 2 people only book the movie but then she wasn't sure. It it's not really big and it's an old building they don't seem to want to work there.
This is a really nice full size cinema. 5 big screens. Generally showing top line eclectic mature audience films.
I am changing my review, twice in the last fortnight I have been there and the theaters have not been cleaned, I had to brush popcorn off my seat and it was all over the floor
Nice. Typically expensive food and drink and some of the patrons were painful to be around but otherwise ok.
Intimate with yesteryear charm.wow over 10 cinemas.the new reno mixes the new with the old.keeping the original Character & Feel
It's a lovely restored art deck theatre that has been fitted with the latest in screen and audio technology. Enjoy a pre movie drink in the bar too. A great venue that makes movie going enjoyable.
The cinema wasn't cleaned before our session, not the first time. I wish, wish wish they would turn the bright lights in the projection room off when the film is showing.
Levelled up since I last was here. Function friendly. Good communication. My kid's 6th birthday party made me jealous of having myown cinema room hired out! Like a boss.kid and venue!
Lovely old cinema that has been divided up into several to accommodate smaller audiences & far greater number of movies being shown at any one time.
Love it there.
Ticket, fresh sandwich &/or snacks, tea, coffee all under $25
The staff are all polite and helpful.
Wide variety of movies.
It’s our “go to” outing on a Sunday whenever we can.
This is another lovely Palace cinema with great staff. My feedback is for efficiency there needs to be two lines - one for people collecting tickets and another for those with tickets to buy a snack or a drink for the movie - as two older ladies said to me "this is ridiculous". Also, as there is nowhere to eat close by (the restaurant almost over the road closes at 4pm (according to the older ladies), this is a ripe opportunity for Palace Balwyn to have selection of food available.
