Not as much a favourite as Palace's Westgarth but reliable presenter of quality films in comfortable, small cinema comfort.

The movie was fine. The seats were comfortable. The wine was passable. The young man who poured our drinks was decidedly superior. I was stunned when he said, when it came time to pay: "Thirty". No, not "Thirty dollars" nor even "That's thirty dollars thank you". No just one word: "Thirty". No eye contact. No engagement. Just "Thirty". Next time I want to be treated like. I will return.

Love the architecture and decor at this cinema. It’s much more of an experience than the clinical sterility of the large corporate multiplex.
Bar and snacks are also excellent. You can take your drink in to the movie!

Lovely old style cinema with comfy seats and art Deco style. Genteel clientele who appreciate its charms over the shopping centre multiplexes.

This complex is the original Palace headquarters, and its many theatres a standout of what's possible. Saw a great movie in a stunning intimate theatre (Number 7 of 11) with only 35 or so sumptuous seats.

Great amenities. Great staff.

One big warning. Car parking around the cinema is very challenging, and local council must gleefully regard the cinema as a honey pot for parking fine revenue.

Great cinemas. Old Style feel and service. Great choice of movies. Best of the cinema chains in Australia, by a long way

Cinema? Or nursing home? Besides from us, there were no one under the age of 45.

Temperature was also set so low in the cinema. Was freezing.

Great movie theatre. Only issue was that the coffee was awful! Whoever manages the cafe needs to attend to that issue.
Last time I went the coffee was fine, so
It appears that it depends who one gets.

Fantastic cinema with interesting films and good choice of food and drink in an art deco atmosphere. Good value membership, different size screen rooms in the cinema, not a mainstream multiplex - more film choices.

It's good and has a really nice vibe. In my experience, it can be difficult to see the screen if someone tall is sitting in front of you as not all the seats are levelled. I was also a bit confused as to how to enter, as my pre-booked tickets had a QR code but the staff assured me that no-one had to actually buzz me in. It seems to me that this would make it incredibly easy for someone to go into a cinema without a ticket.
Overall, I am grateful this theatre exists because it allows me to see the art house films that you cannot see in regular cinemas. It's also a nice excuse to come into town.

Palace Cinema not honouring companion cards through online ticketing is discrimination against people with disabilities.

An amazing and beautiful cinema, unlike anything you will see anywhere else in Melbourne. A great place to take your partner for a romantic evening. Service staff were friendly but nothing compares to the visual aspect of coming here.

Balwyn Cinema has a good atmosphere.since Covid 19 it has worked to make patrons feel comfortable about being in a cinema. There is good social distancing, sanitizing cream ordered waiting for bar service, a functioning lift service and no opportunity to mingle in a crowd in the foyer area in these days of a pandemic. The theatres are very clean and all seating well maintained. One can feel safe there.

Great place I didn't even know existed. Seats are comfortable which I didn't expect in a grand old establishment. Cosy and intimate in the theatre with almost a private screening feel to the experience. Nibbles and refreshments were reasonably priced, and I have to say I was braced for expensive water considering the suburb, if you know what I mean! Great movie (The Keeper) which really got you thinking and reflecting on your own life.
Great experience all round, would be very happy to return and no qualms in recommending to others.

Love Palace Cinema Balwyn. Nice, helpful staff, good new seats, cosy feel in smaller cinemas. Parking a challenge but ok. My favourite movie theatre

Theatre comfortable but Cafe very poor. Scones were like rubber and melting moment so stale. Staff disinterested.

Bears no resemblance to the cinema I remember as a child. Well put together complex. Good range of films. A bit expensive. Parking is a challenge.

A more fine dining cinema experience. Palace Balwyn features a more traditional and less commericalised movie going experience.
