Don't let the clean layout stop you from going here. It did take a while to go as from out side it looked sterile (it is not the usual warm lights), but once you get there and try the food, it is all amazing. This is definitely one of Melbourne's lesser know bit great cafe. Staff friendly and food is a they have any thing from sesame latte to hot cakes (come with a container or even better share! As it is highly likely you won't finish them.

WOW. Loved every minute of this place. If the staff ever look at the reviews, you guys are awesome, thank you.
Every single one of them were friendly, attentive and helpful - left us feeling welcome and comfortable.
And that's not to mention the kitchen team - because the food was DELICIOUS.
This place makes me wish I lived in Melbourne!

My new fave on Bridge Rd. 4th or 5th time here, couldn't fault any of the dishes i've had so far, and all tasted and superbly presented in a way far above their price point. The team are all very welcoming and service is spot on.

And for the espresso geeks, their weekly single origin (by Padre) is always on point. They know their stuff.

Hits all the right spots to make a successful Melbourne Cafe. Great Deco, ambience, service, coffee and food. The sharing platter was great and the highlight was definitely the mushroom egg custard, such a unique and creative dish full of flavour!

Lovely light restaurant with friendly staff. Cannot fault any of the serving staff. Presentation of the food on point. However, was let down by the cooking today. Poached eggs were amazing but I found that the bacon and sourdough were overcooked.

Kids ordered pancakes, one wasn't cooked through and batter left undone.

The staff here help with rating this 4 stars but I would give this 3 otherwise.

I had the Let’s Make Some Smoke. The Star is the twice cooked king salmon, which just melted in the mouth. Came with a bit of theatre with a lid so you get a hit of smoke when it's served. Sadly, we are told that both this and the trout rillettes that me friends had, will both be taken off the menu after next week. I wish we had visited sooner!

An ode to the original.

Welcome to Richmond, Otto. Housed in what was formerly known as Monroe’s, Otto executes tried and tested methods for coffee and food; whilst realising a fresh approach to dining.

I first met owners Allen Goh & Alger Liu back when they had the Guilty Moose in Albert Park. The pair mastered the art of coffee at Mr Foxx in Malvern, with veterans of the industry, Norm and Sue (now at Sonny Rays). It’s testament to the value of hardworking café owners, who made what Melbourne coffee is today.

Breakfast and Lunch offerings are on par with fine dining experiences in this food obsessed city. Think Exotic Mushrooms served with egg custard and black garlic; Pain Perdu with grenadine poached rhubarb and spiced ricotta; and Hotcakes topped with slow cooked apple, blueberry gel, and smothered in butterscotch sauce.

Coffee is sourced from Padre, and extracted via a sleek Slayer machine.

If you are in the Richmond area of Melbourne, dont forget to drop by OTTO. Founded by the duo Alger and Allen, OTTO is not your average cafe. OTTO which stands for Ode To The Original is not to be missed out. As an avid traveller around the world, i had my fair share of trying cafes across the globe and OTTO has impress me tremendously. They take pride in serving delicous food with high quality ingrediendts which will be beautiufully plated to make your taste buds tingle. You can also smell the great coffee aroma when u step into the cafe. The barista willl make you a freshly brewed coffee that will make you asking for more. I also like the concept of the cafe, minimalist and clean makes it a great place to relax and unwind from a hard days at work. Definitely will come back when i am around. GOOD JOD guysss. P. S Alger and Allen is cute as well, so if you need eye candy.

Great range of refreshing and healthy smoothies to choose from. Got a mango smoothie today and it was great. Saw a few well presented dishes on other tables. Will be back to try their food.

Walked in on a Saturday morning and managed to get a seat by the bench. Great coffee, food and atmosphere. The salmon main is divine, with lots of drama and presentation that would befitting of Heston fine dining.
Highly recommend everyone to check OTTO out.

Amazing breakfast and the most friendliest staff. This cafe is the most beautifully designed place I've walked in to. They serve one of my favorite beans from Padre. Very smooth and delicious. I will be back with friends soon. Oh, their croissants is to die for.

Fantastic new brunch venue in Richmond. Haven’t quite seen any offerings like this anywhere in Melbourne. Be sure to order the sharing is caring and the hotcake and you’ll not be disappointed. Coffee and service are also top notch. An absolute gem on bridge road!
