Your next destination brunch cafe should definitely be at Riché
Can we just say that we are SO glad we went with the Japanese cheesecake for a sweet ending, heavily obsessing over the earl grey cream and strawberry pearls rn
Lovely and attentive staff, and plenty of room and lighting to enjoy dining in, and of course, we love the punny dish names!

Pictured:
You Magma Crazy / Japanese cheesecake with earl grey cream, butter soil and strawberry pearls

Let’s Moo it Moo it / Super soft slow cooked beef ribs on cauliflower bread (wow), celeriac purée and wonderful date purée - together with the ribs is a match made in heaven

Such a Truffle Maker / Sautéed mushrooms with truffle oil on cauliflower bread and beetroot hommus, king oyster mushroom chips & kale

Girls' catch up at Riche. Delicious food, good coffees and hot chocolate, great company and very friendly and attentive staff. What more could we ask for.

I had a hot chocolate and the prawny business. Love the panko crumbed prawns in the laksa sauce. The scrambled egg was soft and fluffy. The only negative about this dish was that the laksa sauce was not hot when I was served. But the delicious food makes up for it.

My friends either had the prawny business or the ribs between the lips. We had waffle fries too. We all loved our food. Portion size was great and price was very reasonable.

The staff were all very attentive and friendly. We asked for more of the delicious laksa sauce to drench the jasmine rice in and our request was promptly met at no extra charge.

Would love to try the breakfast menu next time.

The best coffee on Bridge Road, hands down. Maybe in Melbourne? The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Their brunch offerings are to die for. Otto is just the best.

I go to Otto every single morning for my takeaway coffee and couldn’t be happier with their service! Staff are friendly, coffee is always perfectly made, affordable and don’t have to wait long.

There's a bright new cafe on Bridge road called Otto. It's a well designed space, w single seating options w excellent ppl watching views, a bench seat or table and chairs and a polished concrete floor.

The service was impeccable, I was warmly greeted and I could sit wherever, which is great.

My strong skinny latte was really good, it has some good milk froth. The single origin house blend is called "Daddy's Girl" hahaha not sure why.

Foodwise I ordered the “Otto Chilli Scrambled” which sounded great on paper. It was chilli scrambled eggs, maple bacon, buffalo mozzarella, lemongrass tomato relish, chorizo crumb on an open baguette.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the best. When this dish hit the table my first thought was where’s the baguette? It’s a white Vietnamese roll!

The chilli scrambled eggs, well they lacked the spice I was expecting, and the thick maple bacon, was sadly quite dry. In fact almost all of the bacon was quite hard.

There were white lumps in this dish that I realised were the buffalo mozzarella. I took a photo but it’ll get moderated lol.

I saw some tomato seeds and a bit of pulp which I realised was the tomato relish. But there wasn’t much. I didn’t taste any lemongrass in the dish.

Maybe I just got the wrong dish, but it certainly wasn’t the best.

Located on the quieter end of Bridge Road is a new-ish brunch spot, Otto. The menu features an interesting fusion of east meets west, with a touch of Modern Australian. Diversity runs rampant in the menu, with dishes featuring components such as prawn tom yum broth, soba noodle, black pudding, and Hungarian salami. Exquisitely presented and skilfully executed, thought and care has been taken to ensure that the dishes not only look good, but taste good.

Let’s Make Some Smoke is a dish that is high on theatrics. Lift up the glass dome to revel in the smoke and pour yourself some of the delicious prawn tom yum broth. The twice cooked king salmon retains a juicy texture and outstanding flavours. The Exotic Mushroom with Egg Custard is wonderfully seasoned, and the combination of different types of mushroom adds different layer of flavours and textures.

For a healthier option, the Soba Noodle Salad will not disappoint. Bright and tangy flavours, and the tender wagyu rump cap makes this a substantial dish. For those who like their sweets but not the heavy feeling after, do go for the Summer French Toast. Fruity and light on the palate, it is incredibly easy to finish one all by yourself.

The extensive beverage options will keep everyone happy, and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the smoothies and both the taro and matcha latte. Otto definitely tick all the right boxes.

Got a *fantastic* Reuben sandwich to go. Friendly service and I can’t get over how nice that sandwich was. The location is lovely - I look forward to being able to dine in post-pandemic!

We were invited to Otto to try out some of their menu items. We visited on a Sunday morning and the place was packed! Even though it was busy, there was a sense of calm and control. Our orders were taken and the food arrived promptly.

The Milanese was top notch. The crumbed wagyu fillet was tender and cooked perfectly. The accompanying sauce was rich and creamy. Together with the apple salad, this combination was a winner.

The soba noodle salad was beautiful to look at. The hot and sour dressing was slightly overpowering. If I ordered this again, I would have asked for the dressing to be on the side. The wagyu rump was delicious.

Props to the chai latte. This was full of exotic flavours and I appreciated having the honey on the side.

We had a pleasant time at Otto and it was clear from the other patrons that we were not the only ones!

This cafe is one of my favourite on Bridge Road (especially on the west side). It’s got a bright, contemporary fit-out, lovely staff and some really interesting dishes. They’re mostly classic Melbourne fare with some European and Japanese elements, many of which are or can be vegetarian. I loved the greens and poached egg on toast which is topped with aerated hollandaise and the tastiest saganaki. I also tried the zucchini fritters plus a sweet potato rosti, which paired really nicely. To drink, I shared a creamy and not-to-sweet taro latte and a banana and granola smoothie. It could have used more ice as it was a bit warm, but otherwise tasted great.

Located on the busy strip on Bridge Road is this amazing modern and new brunch spot! Walk into polished marble table tops and dusty leather booths which gives it a modern touch. Love how it is very bright and nicely lit.
The menu offers a modern brunch with a Japanese twist. There is a good range and variety on the menu and they have matcha and taro latte which is always nice. Decided to order a few dishes to share so we get to try a few more items on the menu.

Decided on Let’s make some smoke, exotic mushrooms, soba salad and the summer french toast. Each dish is nicely presented and the plating was on point. Love the theatrical vibe to the salmon dish and the fragrant smoke. I liked how the dishes are light and not too heavy and that means there is room for dessert. The flavours in each dish were good and the textures went well together. The summer french toast was light and the mango soaked brioche was something different. It was not too heavy and the flavours worked well together.

The exotic mushrooms are the highlight as you get to taste the different textures of the mushroom and the flavours went well together. Being a big fan of mushrooms, I highly recommend this dish. It went really well with the rye toast. The soba noodle salad was not your ordinary salad, it had a very unique dressing that was light and fresh and I love the hint of pickle mushroom in the dish to add in the flavour. Don’t forget to add in a cheeky bowl of fries, as they were very crunchy and I loved the panko crumb batter.

Overall, the staff is really attentive and friendly and I highly recommend this brunch spot if you’re around the area. I really enjoyed how the dishes are not too heavy and you can always add in that dessert dish to share.
