I got my hair coloured, asking for a balayage, showed photos of what I wanted, with the color I wanted, and in the end what I got was red, which was not what I wanted.

My hairdresser James, was quite arrogant during the whole process, claiming that he's super in demand, highly skilled, and that I would love my new hair. Plus he was really aggressive and rough in combing out the back combing. I feel like I tolerate pain pretty well, but he was so rough I swear I would have preferred to have shaved my head off than let him continue. Luckily an apprentice or whatever took over, and was 100x gentler.

I do not love my new hair, plus it was super overpriced. I told some friends who usually get their hair coloured, and were shocked at the prices they charged.

This was my second time coming back, first time also disappointing and did not achieve the color I wanted. I thought I'd research a hairdresser to do my hair before booking, and give them a second chance. Not coming back.

Oscar Oscar salons is amazing. I got a caramel balayage done for the first time, so I was quite reliant on my consultants advice while also nervous in trying something new. Elise was wonderful as she patiently worked on my (very) thick hair and gave me a lovely hair cut that set off the style beautifully. The colour went very naturally with my tan complexion. Amazing team and beautiful salon. Will definitely be back next time.

Edit following response from Oscar Oscar- I was never quoted by the stylist as you say I would have been. Also as I mention, I did see the pricelist and notes $85 for the service.

I visited Oscar Oscar Chadstone today for the 1st and last time.
I booked in for a blow wave. I had the good experience and was treated very well by the stylist. I was expecting to pay $85 for the blow wave which is normal for me as I have a lot of hair. I explained I was treating myself as I was heading out for the 1st time after having my baby.
He offered a treatment whilst washing my hair so I agreed. I wasn't quoted (nor did I ask) but I thought it would be about $20 as it was relatively quick. He offered my a hand massage whilst the treatment was in. It was very relaxing.
My hair was dried smooth and then waves/curls put in with tongs. Again, expected as I have lots of hair and most hairdressers refrain from using round brushes to get the result.
What i didn't expect was the bill at the end. $155. I was so shocked that I just paid and left.
I got home and couldn't think about it much more. I was charged almost double what I initially expected. With the treatment I thought around $115.
I called and spoke with the? Manager. Explained the breakdown of costs - $85 for a smooth blow dry, $40 for the treatment and $30 for additional styling (use of the tongs!). I was gobsmacked. Whatever about the $40 for the treatment (although if I was quoted I wouldn't have proceeded with it) but $30 on top of $85 for waves, this is obscene. She said they would discuss staff etc but thanked me for calling as they would grow from this. I get that there is a cost for service etc but this is ridiculous. I explained that I was contemplating continuing going to this salon as the service was good and it is convenient location but was reconsidering now
Manager called back and offered a free treatment when I would next be in for a blow wave. I explained that I wouldn't be returning whatsoever.
$155 was a standard blow wave (which is now, almost 2 hrs later, flat and falling out!).
Im not one to leave poor reviews but felt that this could not go unwritten.

Really patient and gave me a lovely layered hair cut which added lovely texture to my exisiting balayage:)

The hair products they used to condition and de tangle the hair was also high quality and smelt luxurious:) overall the staff was friendly and easy going

I have been going to Oscar Oscar Salons in Chadstone for 3 years now and I they have transformed my life! I always leave the salon with beautifully styled hair. Additionally, my hair is always in good quality in between appointments as the team at Chadstone always makes sure you are leaving with the best products and advice. I could not recommend them highly enough!

Amazing experience. Have been seeing Ryan for about 9 months now and have never left the salon disappointed. They’re all masters with hair and can help tailor any look/idea to you.

Had a lovely cut and treatment with Rachael and she was very accommodating with my little toddler too.also I really appreciate the product recommendations and the attention to detail.

Exceptional salon in both services and pricing and in the “professionalness” and “personableness” of stylists. Would highly recommend!

Friendly and unpretentious service. Mandy my fav cutter and stylist spends quality time with me everytime showing me exactly how to care and tame my frizzy curls. Their mags are good too! Along with an easy location.

Way too expensive and stylist pushing products to the client. Also don’t want to refund if the client is not happy with the over expensive products.

I was visiting Melbourne last week and needed a cut. After reading reviews for Oscar Oscar I decided to make an appointment. The gorgeous Ryan chatted with me and I let him take the reins and do what he liked with my hair. Balayage and a new style later and I could not be happier. Thank you, thank you! I highly recommend this salon.

I have been going to Oscar Oscar Chadstone for over 2years now. After 20 years living in Australia and always finding it very deficult to get what i like from the hairdressers, finally I found my heros Nathan and Jackie are absolute legends and they actually know what they are doing, from cut to colour to style anything and everything is done to the prefection. I also had my colour done with Ryan yesterday as Nathan was fully booked, he also did a great job. Cannot recomend this salon more.

Heading to the hairdressers at OscarOscar Chadstone is like meeting up with friends.it's enjoyable and I alway walk out with lovely hair - thanks Nathan & Jacki!

Mandy is an amazing colourist. She took the time to understand exactly what I was after and was able to deliver. Very pleased with the results!

I had always had a great experience here. Lisa is fantastic, she has got to know my hair really well and her cut is always what I need and want. It was great that when she had to go on holiday she briefed another member of the team during my prior appointment so I could be confident in maintaining the same standard. Highly recommended

Lisa is great. I was nervous trying a new hairdresser after 20 or more years with the same one, but Lisa put me at ease, listened and made sure I knew she had heard my concerns about my hair.
I have been back a few times now, and she recalls my concerns, makes sure she talks thru my needs before she starts cutting.
I am happy to recommend her and the salon to anyone.

I don’t usually invest a lot of money into my hair, but I’m so glad I have. The team at Oscar Oscar are amazing and I had the absolute pleasure of having my hair cut and coloured by one of the stylists in the Chadstone store. Can’t wait for my next visit x

I've been using Oscar Oscar Salons (Chadstone) for many years now and the service is always great and my hair always looks fabulous.

This was the place where I first coloured my hair and they took on board what I was after and provided any advice if needed.

My haircuts are always perfect and I always leave with a smile and shiny, bouncy hair!

I never have felt the need to put in a bad review but unfortunately this warrants one. In fact my first visit to this place was good and I came out happy. I showed to my appointment to be advised that it had been cancelled because I did not confirm it. But actually I had. I had talked to two people on the phone, the first advising I would get back to them and the second confirming my appointment for 1 pm. The issue was the terrible customer service. They made me feel like it was my fault the appointment was cancelled by saying ‘ oh but we called you yesterday and left a message’ despite the fact I had confirmed it the day before. And actually I have just listened to my message bank and there are no messages. So not worth your time. Probably need some training in customer service as well.
