Food was delicious as to be expected, didn't catch the name of our server but guy with the ponytail made phenomenal cocktails and was delightful, the white chocolate dumplings are a MUST have 5

Really lovely place, staff are friendly and food always consistently tasty. The only downside is that they don't have as much variety as expected for main meals.but I guess there's plenty to choose from the entree's

Best yum cha place in South Yarra. Food is always fresh and consistent. Service is lovely always.

? Food was 5 stars. Dumplings were delicious and our favourite was the chocolate dessert dumplings!

A bit more expensive but worth it for the atmosphere, the service and experience.

The dating board game was so much fun, takes the stress out of thinking of questions haha and a great experience to have with a first date or long-term partner.

Staff was amazing! So friendly and attentive.

10/10 would do again!

Me and my partner really enjoying the whole experience from the beginning to the end. White Chocolate Dumpling which the one who caught me at the End!

The server was really Friendly and Attentive! Always there when we need them.

Spring rolls tasted fresh and puffy, satay chicken dumplings were packed with flavour. Fillet steak was cpoked just right, very juicy and tender. White chocolate dumplings were just incredible.

Wait time was short and all staff was friendly. Would reccomend to anyone in the area!

It was amazing, the atmosphere was great, I had so much fun, I got a little too drunk and stay at the bar, and the bartenders gave me Waters without me asking, I'd like to say a big thank you, to everyone at Oriental teahouse:)

Good place where have a dinner with an asian twist! The location is nice, well organized but there was too much confusion.maybe a few acoustic pannels would make the dinner experience more enjoyable and might also characterize the interior design. Food was good, i've really enjoyed the crunchy duck dumplings. Strange thing was the rice: it was sticky and probabily overcooked but might be that was a temporary accident. In the complex it was an enjoyable dinner.

Loving the new layout from previous and the food is always flawless as is the service makes the experience much more comfortable. Love!

I've been to Oriental Tea House in the city a couple times and love their food. South Yarra didn't disappoint.
Lots of tables, and seats, we got a table instantly, for 3 without a booking, on a Saturday night.
Waiters and waitresses were amazing and nice, super happy with the service.
Food was great too. I will always recommend the BBQ Pork buns, I could live off them. We also had an assortment of dumplings and some share dishes, which had small portions considering they were on the share menu.
Over all, I'm super happy, will be back, even if it's just for the pork buns

The new layout is a great improvement on the previous setup. It feels a lot more comfortable. The service was great and the good was spot on. Will be back.

By far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
We paid $45 each for the unlimited banquet option for 14 people, in total each we recieved:
2 dumplings
1 spring roll
1 steamed pork bun
3 plates of calamari between us all
6 bowls of fried rice between us all
And I walked out and went to a different venue before I could see anymore.
Ridiculously overpriced, the food was tasty and fresh but I have never felt so ripped off after paying $45 for what's stated above.

I have been multiple times and am always impressed with the extensive plant based menu. The options are varied and amazingly yum.

My highlights include:
Salt n Pepper Tofu
BBQ Buns
Silky Tofu + Mushroom
Veggie fried rice
Chinese broccoli with vegan oyster sauce!

The service is always great - the atmosphere is lovely too. It's a big space but usually quite busy, for good reason.

Great place for groups too as they have big tables:) Definitely be back again and again!

The food takes on a more different and delicious take on Yum Cha. A long list of dumplings and the "sharing is caring" are big portions.
I highly recommend the salt and pepper squid and the rice paper prawn rolls in Kewpie Mayo.
On paper, the veggie fried rice sounded so delicious with all the amounts of vegetables listed. But when it arrived, it was your typical Chinese fried rice. The veggies were cut into tiny bits so I couldn't get my mushroom fix. Just a lot of rice instead.
Nice atmosphere and there is a bar upstairs too.
Service is friendly and super efficient!

Has some excellent choices of food. Great sample tea pots, some of the best soup I’ve had from a place in a while and the dumplings were to die for. Nice staff, nice decor, good location, will eat here again and bring friends for sure.

Had the 2 hour unlimited banquet with my co-workers and it was amazing! There was no shortage of food and it was absolutely delicious. You order 8,10, or 12 dishes for the duration of the dinner and they continuously bring them out. No matter what, everyone has something they like.

Place is fantastic and so is the food.
However the last two times we visited, i have gotten a overcharged bill and charging us double for the food we had. Luckily i spotted this as the Bill was way to expensive for what we have actually ordered. Not very sure how the amount was mixed up cause the total was drastically more than 4 people could eat in a day. Thinking this is a honest mistake i returned with a couple of mates who traveled to Melbourne last week. We were then charged a $8.25 card surcharge fee. So does this mean if 8 people eat and we pay with one card, the surcharge applies for all 8 people? Is this some kind of a joke cause i have never heard of it anywhere else.

Attended a function in one of the private function rooms upstairs for lunch. The room itself was well layed out with seating around the walls and centre table at standing height for food and large bar at one end. Service by the staff always prompt and attentive. We had a variety of dumplings, calamari, buns etc and all of it was delicious. Not a criticism but the room itself whilst facing Chappel St with a number of windows felt a bit dark. It was a beautiful sunny wintery day outside but when we finally left and stepped outside you felt as though you had missed the sunshine altogether. Otherwise a great venue with good food and service.

Nice interior and a good vibe. The food was delicious and definitely made for sharing. The drinks are reasonably priced (on par with typical Melbourne prices). The service was quick, friendly and professional.
