Oriental Teahouse South Yarra

They got my order wrong, but it was pretty tasty regardless. But for a 2 people order getting it wrong seems a bit too much, maybe use a pen and paper.

We had a special night here! The food is amazing and the staff are incredibly friendly. Especially Suraj and Rosie!

This was undeniably one of the most remarkable dining experiences I've had in a long time. The staff's attentiveness and efficiency ensured swift service, and our food and drinks arrived promptly. Their exceptional organization and delightful demeanor added to the overall enjoyment. The restaurant operated seamlessly, resembling a finely tuned machine. While it may come at a higher cost, it's unquestionably worth every penny. I wholeheartedly recommend trying the sesame prawn toast and prawn wonton dumplings. Every aspect of our visit was flawless, and I eagerly anticipate returning with my mother!

Popped in to buy some tea to brew for home and a cup. Tea was $32 and cup was $25. I didn't realise till after I paid I was charged a surcharge of 10% as it was a Sunday. Abit rude as it had nothing to do with eating in, so I recommend only buy teas and cups during the week!

11/10 for service. It was on top and quick.
We took $55/person all you can eat set menu. Everything from start to end was super delicious and it was hard to make the decision which ones to repeat because we felt like repeating it all. Some of the many dishes that we had are
1. Pork Spring Rolls
2. Pan fried Pork Dumplings
3. Prawn & Chive Dumplings
4. Schezuan Pepper Chicken
5. Chinese Broccoli
6. White Chocolate & Coconut Dumpling

Staff attentive and pleasant. San choy bao (sp?) too big and clumsy to eat as finger food. Dumplings not special. My lemongrass margarita slapped hard on the table so it splashed. I wouldn’t bother again

A perfect meal, if you are craving Chinese come here. Big sizes as it’s all shared meals, great price and the plant based/vegan range is incredible.

Very yummy dumplings (next time I’d request them to be extra hot (temp not spice) and exceptionally lovely friendly staff. Really enjoyed casual Sunday lunch here.

Great food and service. The dumplings are great and they have lots of GF options which is great!

The food was good, but the service wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. Had to wait for 6 dumplings for almost 40 minutes. I had to keep asking the staff how much longer I had to wait for the dumplings and they were not able to give me a straight answer. In the end, I was told that the they are having issues with the steamer. I think they forgot about the dumplings but didn't want to say that.

Food was good, service was friendly and attentive, but I won't be returning due to the sneaky surcharges all over the bill.

The venue charges a 10% surcharge for Saturdays, as well as % charges for the privilege of paying them with a bank card.

I don't really understand why Saturday staff wages and banking fees - a standard cost of doing business, just like their electricity bill - are not worked into the price of the product like it is for every other industry in Australia.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The place itself is stunning both downstairs and upstairs rooms. The teas are always great quality, and the food is done really well, and very reasonably priced. The only feedback I have to make this even better, would be to add filling to the white chocolate coconut dumplings (dessert), as it just tastes like a ball of dough at the moment, and I would slightly fry the calamari a little less. The service was amazing, and the Asian waitress with the glasses was one of the best waitresses I have come across, super friendly, attentive, always positive and helpful.

We had the best time! Thank you OTH for making Valentine’s Day special! We loved the Dumplings for Dating game! Even though we have been together for 10 years. Food was great! Cocktails were great and service was great! Thank you so much!

Really cool spot, great staff and a lovely ambience.

We went for the 78$ sharing menu and the rest of our table went for the $55 sharing menu.

The food was delightful and I'm very glad we went for the sharing menu. We got to try a variety of different dumplings, the steak was delicious and the octopus was very nice aswell.

I was pleasantly surprised by the white chocolate dumplings. They were delicious.

Would reccomend this menu if you're looking to try something different!

Fabulous food and stellar service. We had an utterly fantastic time for our work xmas party. Our host Moe was completely wonderful and made the whole dining experience 10/10, we also occasionally had a second server, I believe their name was Gordan. So good, well looked after and we all raved about the food, especially the vegan options.

I have been here for 5 times in the past 2 years.love the dimsum, at least in this area this is one of the best.the fried chicken ribs is good.some food can be improved.such as the chicken feet.nice food for easy lunch.

Absolutely fantastic night at Oriental Teahouse. Went here for my partners birthday and food and service was exception and really made the extra effort to make sure our night was enjoyable (little things like making the cake celebration amazing). And the food is my word amazing. Recommend 10/10

Beautiful really friendly service, great atmosphere, nice aesthetic indoors, delicious food (especially the silken tofu broth). Will definitely come back again and again!
