Oriental Teahouse Lt Collins reviews
70 Booked a table for 7 for a birthday and was seated at three high table with great lighting. Loved the atmosphere and interior decor of the restaurant inside. It’s quite stylish and not very traditional to Asian cuisine style.
The service by wait staff was professional and all of them were happy and smiling. Very friendly and helpful when it came to deciding on meals.
Food was delicious! Main meals cooked perfectly, however portions weren’t as big as I’d hope they’d be as the prices are a bit more than most Asian restaurants. Be expected to pay an average of $20-25 per dish enough for only 2-3 people. They do however offer feasts which might work out cheaper for bigger groups.
Would definitely dine here again for a special occasion and recommend to larger groups who enjoy great Asian food.
Firstly the staff were great and the only reason for the three stars was due to the lack of authenticity in food, furthermore I felt the couple of dishes were over cooked particularly the prawn/pork dumpling, shumai and the BBQ pork buns.
I do hope that this constructive feedbacks contributes towards improvement as OT is such a wonderful venue.
I honestly have had so many great experiences here. Sometimes the service can be a little slow but it’s expected when the restaurant is very busy. My favourite dish are the BBQ pork buns and their fried prawn paper rolls. The desserts are amazing - try the fried walnut, peanut butter and choco wontons with ice cream and you must try the signature white choco dumplings.
Great Service, staff were very attentive. Table water was constantly being refilled without asking and the food was absolutely delicious! For a busy Friday night there was nothing that could be faulted! Meals were only a short wait and nothing was too much effort for the staff.
Comfortable decor, well organised with friendly and professional staff. Good selection of Chinese Teas, served promptly and by knowledgeable staff.
Food, all though delicious, is very Westernised. They don't offer many of your usual Yum Cha dishes (No Tau Foo Fa or Egg Custard Buns even!), but they still offer plenty of other options that cater more to Western tastes.
A must visit on the Yum Cha circuit, but not if you're expecting Authentic Yum Cha. Good experience overall.
PS: At least get Egg Custard Tarts, I overheard other customers asking for it too.
Great atmosphere and service. We shared three plates between three of us and there was plenty of food. We tried one of their new menu items - chilli barramundi - it was very good with great crispy skin and perfectly cooked Barra.
Had my dad's 80th birthday here. It was really good food. Was a little slow to start but as soon as the food started coming it was amazing. The pork belly was to die for and the dumplings with the pork soup inside was delicious. Could not fault the service and Jason who looked after us was very funny and knowledgeable with his food. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a big appetite. The donuts were out of this world. Thanks Jason and your chefs from Retired Ange KIIS FM.
One of my favourite places to eat as I visit this place quite regularly. A great menu, the food is always amazing, and served hot. Highly recommended.
The waitresses were sort of rude and unaccommodating. I asked for a small cup for the tea, they refused to bring me that. The food I ordered (called legit special special fried rice) was absolutely not legit or special. It took them over 20 minutes to prepare and the final product was disappointing, small in portion, and there was no strong flavour. Overall a very unpleasant experience.
We tried the 2 person banquet which gave us a selection of dumplings and stir fried dishes - all of which were very nice. The service was exceptional and we were encouraged to try from the vast range of teas to accompany the food and were not disappointed. Would be a great venue for groups as well.
