Oriental Teahouse Lt Collins reviews
70Great food and great service by our gorgeous young waitress! She was very accomodating to our needs. Thx you:)
A very civilised place to enjoy dim sum. Unlike your run of the mill Chinese yum cha restaurants, Oriental Teahouse's decor and lighting sets it apart from the rest. Food is good as is the service.
Wonderful experience for a small work end of year lunch. Good atmosphere but not too loud, food was great, service was prompt and lovely.
We called the combo, which was $55/pp, as I remember, it included some yum cha, the main dish, and dessert. I wanted to try Xiao Long Bao, but it isn't good as I expected. The others were nice and beautifully seasoned, and the dessert was white chocolate mochi which is a bit sweet but still very lovely.

Wonderful design, cool bar and really yummy food. We have eaten the whole list of dumplings, exceptional good, nice service, even cool Ibiza beats. Couldn’t be better!
Fantastic meal. Food and service was exceptional. The food was fast and so tasty. Would recommend if your looking for delicious food. 10/10
I came in on Friday evening with my daughter. During dinner I started feeling faint & very unwell. I signalled this to our waitress & she was an absolute angel. Took me outside for air, gave me an ice pack & made sure I had water at the table. She advised staff to mind my daughter until I felt better. Honestly I am so thankful. Food was incredible just a shame I only ate a bit as I was not great, but my daughter still had raving reviews of the dumplings. We’ll definitely be back thank you so much.
Everything was great from food to service.we had not booked and was g
happy to share a large table with another duo as there was enough space between us.we had a two hour sitting which was ideal.we ordered the Pan Fried Eye-Fillet Steak In Honey & Pepper Sauce which was yum and tender and Fried Chicken Ribs, tossed in Pepper, Garlic Salt & Chilli, served with Chinese Pickle which was delicious but would have been better with more seasoning as it felt a little bland.we also recommend the Cockteas - Raspberry Mojito to share.service was courteous and polite.overall the venue had a great and modern ambience to it and a good find but you could get more food in Chinatown for the price that you pay.
We’ve been going to the Oriental Tea House on Chapel street for 10+ years decided to try this one and was a bit disappointed. All of our foods came out pretty cold:/ We definitely felt that the restaurant on Chapel was much more meticulously prepared.
One of the best asian fusion restaurants in Melbourne! I had doubts before coming here because most fusion restaurants tend to have mediocre food but not this one. The food was definitely the highlight of the evening apart from the amazing ambiance. We got the smokey chicken and the bbq pork and would highly recommend those dishes they were super good. Plenty of options to choose from including drinks if you are up for it. There's a lot of space in the restaurant for kids to run around as well. Would definitely come again!
Always consistently good to excellent food. The best out of the 3 restaurants. The service is always good reasonably quick and efficient. The interior could do with a slight refresh, but it's still a good space and spacious. And no doubt I'll be back again at some point as it's one of my go to's in the CBD.
Fantastic service, quality and taste. Wish I had discovered this place my first night in Melbourne.
Came here few weeks back with some of my friends and we probably gave the most hectic ordering because most of us had different preferences and dieteries. However, our section host Sayuru (found the name from the bill) did an amazing job taking down the order perfectly and repeated it to us and double checked everything. This is a long due review but we all really appreciate the smooth service he gave us. Definitely recommend place to get the most outstanding service!
The ambience was nice, staffs were super helpful and friendly (shoutout to Stella and OJ) and the food was absolutely delicious! Thanks for having us and would definitely come back again!
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. A group of 30 of us paid $64pp and had an all you can eat Yum Cha. The food took ages to be served and some of us even left the restaurant hungry. Do not dine here. I REPEAT DO NOT DINE HERE
Absolute joke. We paid for all you can eat and waited for 55 minutes before any food came to the table. Then small amounts came intermittently. Very disappointed.
I really enjoyed getting dumplings and drinks here. The staff was very attentive and knew the tea variety well. Great ambience and music too. Delicious spring onion pancakes and steamed fish. Perfect to get dinner before going out dancing.
My favourite of the two tea houses (Chapel St always too noisy)
Had a really nice lunch not rushed & lovely server made it a pleasant experience. Food tasty and great for sharing.
Really lovely place for dinner - cool vibes, not too noisy, outstanding food and drinks (we had the $52pp feast, and a cocktail) and really quick, solid service. Would absolutely recommend for an after work meal, or an easy dinner out.
Upscale dumpling house with unique food and excellent ambience. An excellent place for date night and special occasions.
Oriental Teahouse goes beyond the staple dumplings (pork and chive, xiaolongbao etc.) and experiment with uncharted combinations e.g. Peking duck, lemongrass chicken, wagyu beef etc.
Unfortunately, the tea served here is diluted and subpar. Despite a large volume of tea being served, the intensity of the tea is extremely low.
