Lovely staff, great atmosphere, especially downstairs for late-night cocktails when it's quieter.

Probably one of my favourite places to settle into for a long night. It's not everywhere in Melbourne that has a cozy room, great staff, good spirits, great wine and good coffee, all in one place.

Couldn't have picked a better spot for the first night out of lockdown, to be honest.

A nice romantic salumi bar. We went the sharing menu for four people and it was definitely enough food for the table. I would love to take home the Grossi olive oil. It had such a tasty robust flavour. Also the prosciutto had to be my favourite ever. It was so fresh and tender that it melted in the mouth. The mussels was a highlight on the table as was the pancetta pizza. Look forward to going again.

Good food but when we got our bill we felt totally scammed. $30 extra simply because we dined on a Sunday, and an extra $12 for a plate of olives which we hadn’t asked for and which was just put on our table with the starters. The dining experience was also average, as we were squashed in a bit of a thoroughfare for waiters and foul smell lingered due to a particularly smelly guest. Really disappointed after we came trying to support the hospitality industry - not planning to return after such a rip off.

Just in with a friend for dessert and cuppa. Staff exceptionally nice. We had the olive oil orange cake and ice cream. Lovely.

Beautiful, fresh, honest food. Staff who were the most attentive I've ever experienced, without being obtrusive. I sincerely wish I'd taken the time to study my bill, because the opportunity to tip was right there but I missed it on the night. I'm not a tip-every-table diner, far from it, but the exceptional service at Ombra should have been recognised on my behalf. Next time, I'll be more aware. 110% recommend.

We decided to give Ombra a try in celebrating our anniversary, as we've heard good things, however upon this particular experience, it would surely be the very last due to the terrible service received considering they weren't exactly fully booked.

Firstly the food and kitchen staff do deserve a thumbs up for the quality and standard delivered in a prompt manner, on the contrary the front end floor staff definitely need training as they truly lack attention to detail and acknowledgement as the service was absolutely terrible.

We were very patient and understanding as we understand that we weren't the only patrons dining in, however upon being seated by a bold gentleman whom we believe to of possibly been the floor manager on the night as he was not in uniform compared to the other waiters, everything was quiet brisk and automated, we were asked if we wanted sparkling or still water, upon choosing we waited at least 15 minutes until order was taken yet no water provided, we had also ordered 2 glasses of wine, the gentleman came out to pour the glasses, however one was left short as the bottle had run out, he acknowledged this and said that he would be back promptly to fill it up and without exaggeration we were left for at least 15 minutes without his return to see that he was attending to another 2 tables outside to fill their glasses with wine, we had to then ask an alternative waiter which then informed him to return to finish the initial duty, upon his return to our table he acknowledged that he actually forgot about us which was very disappointing and was the first initial sour taste.

Upon arrival of food, cutlery was brought out, however one set of fork and knife was sticky and unclean which was then changed over for a new set. As mentioned above food was good however would of been better if the initial service was better tailored and prompt. Throughout the dining session, we asked the waiter for water he said no worries and yet again did not return with it for quiet sometime, we decided to not ask again. Upon finishing the entrees leading to the mains, my partner said she felt like having some cheese with wine and desert to finish it off, we asked the (floor manager / bold waiter) for a menu, yet again for a duration of more than 10 minutes no menu was brought out to us.

Firstly please understand that this is not an exaggeration, and to be completely blunt and honest, for a venue like Ombra an establishment that has been around for a long time, charging the prices that you're asking we would expect a higher magnitude of service, particularly when you have paying diners that are wanting to order an array of dishes to help support your business, the lack of attention to detail provided here is astonishing and definitely needs prompt review so that moving forward others that are looking to try can encounter a much better better dining experience.

After this final strike, we decided enough was enough and went to settle the bill, yet to be acknowledged by the (floor manager / bold waiter) that yes he did forget to bring us the menu yet again.

We wont be returning, and i hope moving forward you can improve your team and take on board this review as it was truly a very disappointing and underwhelming dining experience.

Ombra is a considered experience - music, lighting, menu, drinks.all work perfectly together. The staff are excellent & accomodating. If you’re looking for an intimate / perfect date location, this is it!

Delicious food at a high price tag. It's a bit expensive for what you get (the Salumi selection is $40 and you only get a very small amount of sliced meat).
Atmosphere and staff are lovely. Lots of tables with stools, most with fixed which are pretty uncomfortable after half an hour. Try and ask for a table upstairs that has standard tables and seats!

Exquisite food and wine. Service as it should be. Have loved this place for years and they are managing the covid times with style.

We have come to Ombra a few times and it has always been fantastic. Today was the first night reopening after lockdown and they still tick every box. Great food, friendly, helpful and personal service, good wine. Its a night out I always enjoy and we will keep.coming back over and over. Love it.

Nice place for your business lunch. Good options but I would like to mention Pizza, really worth to try.

What a great little find. Just happened to stop by when passing and I’m glad I did. The staff are a delight and very helpful with suggestions with the menu for drinks or food. Both turned out perfect. I received a little sampling plate to accommodate my drink which was in addition to my other little snacks. I would love to return and try a few more of their tasty morsels when next in town.

Had a great meal when dining here for lunch. They also do grazing snacks for cocktails in the evening. It made us think of Milan.

Pizzas were spot on. Thin and charcoaled to perfection. My only complaint was the music - is this medium/fine Italian dining or a party restaurant? The Proclaimers? Seriously? I think the playlist needs a lot of refinement as it’s a statement to define your restaurant.

Could not fault - friendly staff, interesting wine list and very tasty and creative menu - pizza one of best we have ever had - thin base and very tasty topping and quality cheeses and base.

We've eaten here so many times and will keep coming back time and time again - beautiful food, relaxed atmos & professional staff.

Honestly disappointed in the service. Dishes were slow to come out. Forget about asking for mayo, sause, salt etc as you will probably finish your meal by the time you see it. Bread was stale. When we got up to leave and asked for the bill our last dish came out. Took so long we forgot about it! They were good to take it off the bill though. Prices were 40-50% on the high side for what you get.

The food is so delicious and the service is very friendly. The waiters/waitresses are so chatty and comfortable to talk to. The ambience is chilled out. The only flaw was the desserts. They are very delicious but also quite sweet. We couldn't finish them. But overall experience is just fantastic.

Really friendly staff. Very nice place to come for some Italian style share plates. Good selection of food and drinks. Great, relaxed ambience. Smack in the middle of Melbourne CBD near Hill of Content book store. Groups or solo.

Excellent service and very good zucchini fries. The margarita pizza was also though a bit more basil wouldn't go astray!
