Ombra reviews
64Fantastic staff, waiters genuinely cared about providing good service. Food was fantastic, very high quality veggie options with olives and oil made in-house. Looking forward to returning
This is amazing place for friends gathering as well couple. Food was authentic Italian. We tried few things and the taste was not forgettable. The customer service and atmosphere is 10/10.
Highly recommended this place you gonna love the food.
Relaxed casual dining, food was awesome & service exceptional. Definitely a place I’d recommend & happily return to.
Thank you:)
A bit of wait even with reservation but totally forgivable because it was a Saturday evening.
They seated us at a nice table upstairs. We had Margherita pizza and the Risotto and the nice waitress recommended warm chickpea salad because it was a rather cold spring night which was a good choice. Food was considered authentic Italian. Lovely place for a couple's night out or friends gathering. Better make a reservation since seats are limited.
For dinner we ordered a number of dishes to share; oysters, cured kingfish, half shell scallop, polenta fritto, eggplant fritte, roast chicken, ox tail, ragu. Most of these dishes were deliciously flavourful; kingfish with sweet honey sauce paired well with crostini, scallop with herby rosemary bread, eggplant fritte was so crispy, roast chicken was gently flavoured and tender and so was the ox tail. The polenta fritto however was so salty and lacked flavour. Venue was cosy, service was friendly and prompt.
Exceptional customer service.nothing was too hard and they even celebrated the birthday for us
Food was amazing. Would return in a heartbeat
The service is very excellent
The restaurant staff are great to deal with
The food is excellent
Braised oxtail is super delicious
Pizza is Italian style and the taste is average for Chinese people.
The atmosphere and service inside are very considerate and the waiters are smiling.
Seevice and ambience pretty great, enjoyed the cocktails, loved the diavola pizza and scallops. Desserts so-so, can skip.
Staff was really friendly, and the place had a nice atmosphere, which is always a plus. However, the food (other than pizzas) was rather disappointing and tasted like it had too many artificial flavours. It was too expensive for what was offered. It was priced like a solid 4 stars but tasted like a 1-2 stars.
Good wine selection, the foccacia was really tasty and fresh. The pasta although really tasty were a little bit too soft for my taste
Stopped to try a couple of glasses of Italian wine, along mix salumi (cured meats) & cheese with crostini & fresh bread. Service very knowledgeable and helpful.
A great way to spend a couple of hours in Melbourne on a fine summers evening.
Good late night pizza place open mid week. Great staff and playlist creating a really good vibe
A nice little Italian restaurant with good food, vibes, and service. A few gripes: The menu is overly simplified, making it quite challenging to figure out what you actually get. For example, we ordered a "seafood salad" that was just a small jar of seafood in oil, with a loaf of bread on the side.
The portions of things were also on the smaller side. For wine, the largest size their menu offers is 'Caraffe', a 500ml decanter/container which is disappointingly the same price as full bottles at higher priced restaurants.
Delicious food! Best marinara pizza I think I have ever had. The base was crunchy and the sauce was tasty.
Staff are doing a great job <3
Artichoke and salumi to die for.
Can’t wait to return on a summer afternoon.
Amazing service, as we are new in town, one of staff has recommended their signature dishes, which definitely, very approachable and friendly, my 6 year old didn’t stop saying hi to everyone as he was quite bored, all well received and responsive by the friendly staff.
The entrees are fantastic, my boy enjoyed his pizza, we loved the homemade tiramisu which was definitely highlight of my visit in Melbourne.
Highly recommend! Travel from Sydney, We have been to so many restaurants in the last few day, yes lots of good food choices in Melbourne, but in case of service, non of them reach the standard we were expected until last night, their food quality and service are well deserved the top rate.
Well done!
Pasta restaurant called Ombra next door to Grossi Florentino. Good pasta and good wines. I got the pumpkin tortellini with butter and sage. Also got a carpaccio
Ombra is our go-to favourite restaurant when we want a quick bite to eat and a glass of good wine before the theatre. The food is fabulous and the staff are friendly and efficient.
