Usually great food and service but this night went very wrong! Unfortunately it was a birthday celebration so was very disappointing but I think staffing shortages are the norm now and at least we had a night out.

The first time I came here was for my birthday. I was so hungry and excited that I didn't take a single photo or leave a review. Fixing that now with my second visit, took my mum for HER birthday!

What can I say? The worst bit is trying to catch an eye of the waitstaff but once you do, ordering is quick, food comes quick and you can stuff yourself full of delicious Japanese food within an hour easily. Fantastic value for money. Can't recommend it enough.

Normally I'd equate all you can eat with shabby food. Not so at Okami. Everything looks and tastes freshly made every time. With the kind of quality I'd expect from any decent Japanese restaurant; in or out of Japan.

Love this place, all you can eat and the food is fresh and tasty. The eggplant is especially good! Always leave happy and satisfied.

Second time here and was a little disappointed. Was sat at table 1 in the far corner, where the staff ignore you, took ages to get only some of our drinks, was told they were on their way but no still didn’t get them. Some food we ordered we didn’t get either. And there were plenty of staff but were ignored because we were tucked away in the corner. So a little advise do not sit here.

Very cheap meal if you go there for all you can eat. All the dishes were fresh and came out quite fast. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the staff weren’t very nice, definitely need to work on their communication skills and instead of putting your food on the table we were handed the food which I thought was quite rude, therefore the 3 stars. Would still go there again though.

Came here a second time, and the all you can eat is actually all you can eat, and such beautiful food, and quick service. Very cheap for what you get!

The food was amazing! We ate here twice already and they are pretty consistent with the taste, quality, quantity of the food and the service. The staff are very accomodating and friendly. We really had a great time eating here. Will come back and definitely recommend this branch.

Have to book table online in advance. We booked for 5.30pm sitting. It's all you can eat buffet $18 for kids $35 approx for adults which is great because you can try a bit of everything! Miso and teriyaki steaks are delicious. Also good sushi/sashimi platter. Spring rolls, prawn dumpling, dim sims, fried rice and udon noodles popular with my 2 young children. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere which was nice. Prompt and regular delivery of all meals. Took off one star as only criticism being it only has a very limited dessert menu - icecream and 1 other item! Otherwise a nice family dining experience and we will be going back.

Wow, this place was amazing. Went last night with a group of friends, waiter sat us down quickly and the pictures on the menu looked exactly like the food. Lots of love made in every dish, presentation was fabulous and the staff work so hard to deliver out all the food to everyone.

Good value for your money. $38 for all you can eat. Food is varied and plenty of it. Will definitely visit there again.

Dine in, quick service, helpful staff, food was great, vegan menu available but no vegan dessert option. Loved the seaweed salad. Very enjoyable night, will be dining here again.

Arrived at 9: 15pm, so on the later side. But not super late considering they're open till 11pm. However, we got some pretty sloppy service. The table wasn't set properly. We only got one teacup even though there was two of us. We had to continually try to flag staff down to get water etc.

Food was really good and the staff were polite and friendly. Just, yeah, felt like they had basically finished for the night.

Was great night out, good value and food quality was great especially considering the amount of food they’re pumping out very quickly in a packed restaurant. Will be back:)

Great food, fast service and very affordable. No split bills but I highly recommend. They also have other dishes if you don't like sushi.

A good range of food for a reasonable price.
This place is not your high end or genuine Japanese cuisine but it is a good way to get a fair (ish) example of Japanese food.
You order a range of dishes off a menu, which you can do many times over, for the set price and you may not get every dish you order.
The night we went was extremely busy and we 80% of what we ordered, which was more than enough anyway.
Staff are friendly, attentive and will ask if you're OK without prompting, despite being flat out busy.
I think I might go back when things settle down a bit and the rush to get out for a meal between lockdowns isn't everyone's priority.

Last night we dined at Okami in Mornington.

It was indeed an appalling and distressing evening.

The restaurant only offers two sittings: 5.30pm and 7: 45pm. We arrived at 7: 40pm and were met by a crowd waiting outside in the cold. We could all see that the restaurant was empty of patrons and set up for dinner, nevertheless we were not allowed to enter yet.

We could see staff members inside studying their watches and on the stroke of 7.45pm they opened the door. The queue to check in for a table stretched out the door onto the pavement whilst it was still cold outside!

The room was lit as brightly as a bus station with similar acoustics!

When the waitress came, we told her that we would not order mains until after we’d had starters. She must have heard us discussing our choice of mains as the first dish to arrive was the main course, entrees followed after!

Dishes were not so much as served but rather unceremoniously dumped absolutely, anywhere on the table!

Although we’d booked the 7: 45-10pm slot; less than 100 minutes after we’d sat down, at dead on 9.30pm, waiters hit the room and drove us all out by rudely smashing all the dishes into large buckets at the tables! A loud assault on the senses!

Obviously, this forced the room to empty out quite quickly; however we were not allowed to leave until we’d completed the next task which was another long queue to pay!

As we were two couples, we wished to pay 50/50 on two credit cards (surely not unreasonable?) but were told: “NO! NO SPLIT BILLS! ”

The food was quite nice and not at all expensive; however it was completely over-shadowed by the horrendous service.

When I tried to speak to staff about the appalling service, they ignored me and merely replied “thank you”. I wondered if she was being facetious or just dismissive.

However, I do believe the fault lies not with the staff, but with management and their procedures, deficient training and poor practices. The restaurant fails to realise that a positive customer experience should be the priority.

In conclusion, a shocking experience! Sadly, not recommended.

WARNING to everyone wants to try this place!

Service is great but please be HONEST business owner!
We ordered sushi plate which should of have tuna, 3 times, but never see any piece of tuna! Funny things is we are sitting next to kitchen, tuna sashimi was there from the moment we sit down.
Instead of premium tuna, we kept receiving cheap fried/over sweeted food.

Never back again.
