Okami (Chelsea Heights) - Japanese All You Can Eat

Service excellent. Just order entrees first. Waiters always attentive and delivery of food is quick so order main when ready to eat. Only 2 sittings offered.

Good food indeed, but it is so bloody noisy in there! My head kept ringing even after we’ve left the restaurant! It’s impossible to have a normal conversation. Staff was nice but a bit stressed.

Food is delicious and amazing customer service. Well worth the price. Only issue is that it is really noisy as it is popular and have to shout to be heard but I'm going back again!

The food is lovely, like a Japanese greatest hits, and the service is attentive and fast. However if you are looking for a quiet night don't come on a Sat night. It's really loud and we found it difficult to talk from one end of our table to the other. Walls, floors and tables are all hard surfaces and the sound just bounces around.

Amazing place, amazing food and amazing staff. Something for everyone at amazingly affordable prices. I highly recommend it.

Hubby and i ordered the classic set menu tonight and it was so delicious, everything was cooked beautifully! Fantastic customer service too, will be ordering again for sure

The most delicious Japanese Food! It is amazingly fresh and very affordable. With a great selection of choices. We ordered the Deluxe Set and it was superb! We have told all our neighbours that they must try Okami. We are so happy to have amazing Japanese cuisine available locally! Very friendly service as well. We will definitely be ordering from you very soon:)

Never again! Son’s birthday and food arrived 1.15hours late! Wouldn’t answer their phone when I kept ringing! No one bothered to tell us of the huge delay! Ordered elsewhere.

We ordered the $29.80 take away special. The food was plentiful and amazing quality and value. The service was quick and the staff were pleasant to deal with.
We will definitely order again.

Told pickup would be ready at 6pm got it at 7pm, not the first time this has happened, food was cold. Would have give a 0 if i could.

This visit relates to the opening of the most recent location, in Chelsea Heights. However, I have visited their original location in Hampton (with the family) and Cranbourne (with friends). I can easily say that I feel the standard of food and quality of service is of the highest standard across these three venues.

Okami run a tight ship and are extremely fast paced in their sittings. Bookings are a must and you need to obey sitting times. Our recommendation is the earlier sitting and to arrive at opening time. It becomes extremely busy quickly. If you have any preferences for location of the venue to be seated (ie accommodate a pram or booth seats), you best make that request when booking.

I visited Chelsea Heights a couple weeks after opening and it was already a hot spot with the locals. We were seated and provided plastic tableware for the kids. We were given recommendations of favourite dishes that the kids would like (as we specified we would order a couple things first for them to try).

We ordered a few dishes at a time and would reorder after finishing each dish. We don’t like to over order and we wanted to gauge what the kids would eat. Okami portion the serves based on the table size; so if you have a bigger table; you can ask them to portion down a dish if the whole table isn’t interested.

Food was extremely prompt, but as it got closer to full house; it did slow down. We ordered about 8 dishes and all dishes were high quality and fresh. We noticed that they were well staffed to handle the large volume of orders and very friendly.

Overall, a very positive experience for us and we look forward to visiting again.

What a gem of a restaurant! Great décor and service and every dish was a winner. My favourite was the squid salad, teriyaki beef, and very fresh sushi and sashimi. Ample parking too. No wonder this place is so popular!

We are regulars at Hampton and love the quality, flavour and service. We have introduced many friends to Okami including some from Sydney that are keen to try Silverwater when it opens next month. We had lunch at Chelsea last Sunday for the first time.
Quality and flavour were definitely there but dishes came out too quickly and were luke warm with minimal sauce. Perhaps popular dishes pre-made rather than to order? We have another booking for Sunday week with more friends we are introducing, so hopefully the dishes will be hot and they will want to come back!

Last week I thought about this Okami restaurant introduced by my friends. I didn't expect the restaurant to be so busy that I had to book a few days in advance. This week I finally got my wish and came here with my friends and family. The dishes are very rich, the shrimp is large, the kind cooked with seawater, and the original flavour is very fresh ;there are fried anchovies and squid balls, which have a crispy texture and a superb taste. Chicken nuggets are a favourite for the children. I ate two plates before I took pictures. Sushi and dumplings are very popular, especially prawn dumplings. I really want to eat the next one. Finally, eat a few mouthfuls of sea cabbage and edamame, absolutely refreshing.

Great place for family and team events. Very fresh food and warm-hearted service. Will definitely revisit.

Great meal tonight at Chelsea Heights. Thank you MOLLY for helping to make selections, avoiding any ingredients which can be problematic for me. Very busy, but staff worked efficiently to get food to every table in good time. We ordered the all you can eat which has a huge range of options. Great value and delicious.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Authentic Japanese food with great decor and service. Teriyaki beef and squid salad were my favorites as were the fresh sashimi and sushi. Lots of parking and great value! Enjoy it with a cold Japanese beer.

Service VERY slow compared to other okami restaurants. It wasn’t even busy. We saw our sushi plate sitting on the bench ready to be taken over to us for 20min. In the end we called over a staff and she went and got it for us. Food was warm to cold once we got it. I also noticed not as much flavour (sauce on things) like the other chains. Hopefully these issues will change once they settle in because the food usually very nice, hopefully this was just a once off. Maybe need staff a bit more switched on!
